The Magnetic properties of Fe thin films evaparoted in nitrogen atmosphere have been investigated as a function of nitrogen pressure to clarify thier electronic and magnetic structures. Thus thin films prepared at 2x10?? Torr to 9x10?? Torr appear to consist of mixtures of α-Fe, ??-Fe₂N and α''-Fe₁? N. The atomic magnetic monent of α''-Fe₁? N₂ is 2.8?? in contrast to 2.2?? for ??-Fe₄N and α-Fe. There for the experimental results of the measurement suggest that the electronic sturcture of α''-Fe₁? N₂ films can be explained in terms of a doner model in which one electron of interstital nitrogen is transfered to Fe atom. The doner model explains the ferromagnetism of the α''-Fe₁? N₂ films satisfactorily.

The aim of this study was to compare the initial apical file (IAF) length between the mesio-buccanl and mesio-lingual canals of the mandibular molar before and after early coronal flaring. Fifty mandibular molars with complete apical formation and patent foramens were selected. After establishing the initial working length of the buccal and lingual canal of the mesial root using the Root-ZX, radiographs were taken for the working length with a 0.5 ㎜ short of #15 K-file tip just visible at the foramen under a surgical microscope (OPMI 1-FC, Carl Zeiss Co. Germany) at 25X. After early coronal flaring using the K³ file, additional radiographs were taken using the same procedure. The root canal morphology and the difference in working length between the buccal and lingual canals were evaluated. These results show that the difference in the length between the mesio-buccal and mesio-lingual canals of the mandibular molar was ≤ 0.5 ㎜. If one canal has a correct working length for the mesial root of the mandibular molar, it can be used effectively for measuring the working length of another canal when the files are superimposed or loosening. In addition, the measured the working length after early coronal flaring is much more reasonable because the difference in the length between the mesio-buccal and mesio-lingual canals can be reduced.

The Debye temperatures at near OK of alkali halides with NaCl structure were derived from their own lattice parameters, cohesive energies and melting points. The procedure is that interrelate the Debye temperatures on melting points by classifing the alkali halides into the specific groups of Li-, Na-, K- and Rb-halides, and then reducing each cohesive energy, elastic stiffness constant and sound wave velocity in crystals to proper dimensionless parameter. This estimation process simplify the well known Lindemann's method. According to these results, in another hand, it is confirmed that the mean values of previous reduced parameters in each group show good agreement with the proper values of alkali chalides in respective groups. From this fact the lattice dynamic dynamic properties of an alkali halide can be evaluated easily well from it's own melting point and the similar properties of the alkali cholide in the same group.

The reported data on the thermal expansion coefficient along c-axis of indium crystal can be classified into distinct two different cases, having the positive value and the negative one. To search out the reasonable status, next two things are conbined; (1) The coefficient of polycrystalline indium in terms of two crystal direction, along c-axis, and a-axis are expressed as follows, α=⅓ (α_c+2α_a). (2) The normal pressure is exerted inward, while the thermal pressure is exerted outward. Namely if the coefficient along c-axis is negative, then the compressibility along the same direction, ought to be negative. With these consideration, the negative value of thermal expansion coefficient is conclded.

The effect of the pH of the bath solution governing the formation of nickel and cobalt films electrodeposited in bath containing NiSO₄, CoSO₄, H₃BO₃ and NaCl was investigated. Meanwhile the magnetic properties of these films were measured with self-made hysteresis loop tracer. The peculiar changes of the saturation magnetization and the coercive force of these films electrodeposited near the point at pH 6.5 of the bath solution were observed. The effects of the hydrogen ion concentration and the presence of hydride in the bath solution are discussed.
