Objectives: The purpose of this study was microbiologycal analysis of Dental Unit waterline from public water system with comparisons different waterline disinfection method. Methods; This study conducted by analysis of microbial counts for 2 dental unit chairs that have auto waterline cleaning system and 10 dental unit chairs that don't have auto waterline cleaning system and 7 wash base near 12 unit chairs. Samples of Ten unit chairs were collected before using devices and after 2minutes flushing. Samples of two unit chairs were devided into pre-waterline cleaning and post waterline cleaning. Results: From ten dental unit chairs, The number of bacteria reduced by 89.9 % at highspeed handpieces, reduced by 79.2% at 3-way syringes, reduced by 7).7%at cuspidors. However, even after the water was flushed for 2minutes, the bacterial contamination level was not reduced below 100CFU/ml. From two dental unit chairs, After waterline cleaning, the number of bacteria reduced up to 100%. Conclusions: Before using devices, Flushing and cleaning of dental unit waterline reduced bacterial counts. Unit waterline cleanning is bigger effects than flushing.

Objective: It is important to treat sleep disturbance of soldier, for example Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Also, It is very useful to treat it using oral and maxillofacial surgery, for example orthognathic surgery. The goal of this study is to prove the usefulness of oral and maxillofacial sugery to treat sleep disturbance. Methods: The models were constructed using raw data from three-dimensional (3-D) computed tomogram (CT) images of pre-operation and post-operation using orthognathic surgery of three patients with skeletal class Ⅱ type. The CT data in DICOM format was transformed into an anatomically correct 3-D Computational fluid dynamic (CFD) model of the human upper airway. Once constructed, the model was meshed into tetra-elements. The velocity magnitude, relative pressure, and area were obtained. Results: In all 3 cases, Decreasing of airflow velocity, increasing of pressure and increaing of area were observed around the section of 3 point, comparing pre-operation and post-operation. Conclusions: Orthogathic surgery is effective for sleep disturbance.

Objectives; The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the preventive oral health care with Professional Mechanical Tooth Cleaning(PMTC) for military soldiers. Methods; A short regular professional oral health care program with PMTC using fluoride varnish and chlorhexidine gel was provided weekly. Initial caries lesion and dental plaque were evaluated at the each consecutive visit using QLF-D. Results; Quantitative approach for the initial caries lesion and dental plaque was introduced. The recovery of fluorescence loss in the initial caries lesion was significantly high at the first visit after fluoride varnish application. Personal oral health attitude was more important than chlorhexidine gel application for dental plaque control. Conclusions ; It is recommended that broader and long-term study is necessary to evaluate the initial caries lesion and dental plaque control. Regular professional oral health care program is recommend for military soldiers.
