        재래산양의 수정란이식

        The experiments of estrus synchronization, superovulation, embryo recovery and transfer were carried out to obtain basic informations and to develope basic technics necessary for the controlled breeding programmes in Korean native goats from January to September, 1986. Fifty female Koiean native goats weighing about 20㎏ were used. The goats were housed in sheltered out-door barn and fed in group under field conditions. For estrus control, a total of 59 does was treated with a single i.m. injection of 1 to 5 ㎎ PGF₂α (Lutalyse; Upjohn, U.S.A). Forty-five (75.3%) of 59 does showed estrus after treatment, and the mean (±S.E) hours from injection to estrus was 53.00±1.52. Estrus was induced in 15 (78.9%) of 19 does injected with 1㎎ of PGF₂α. Thirty-two does were treated to induce superovulation with a single i.m. injection of 100 to 1,000 IU PMSG (Peamex; Sankyo, Japan) after estrus cycle control by PGF₂α. Twenty-nine (90.6%) of 32 does exhibited estrus after treatment and 20 of 29 does were hand-mated. Laparotomies showed that 16 of 20 does mated had ovulated and the mean (±S.E.) number of ovulations was 3.22±1.47 in 1,000 IU treated group. The oviducts of donor does were flushed with modified Dulbecco`s phospate-buffered saline between 24 and 79 hours after mating. Twenty-three ova (76.7%) of 30 ovulations were recovered by oviduct flushings and 22 of them were fertilized. Development stage of ova ranged from 1-cell to 8-cell stage. A total of 22 fertilized ova was transferred at rates of one to three per animal into the oviducts of 10 recipient does which were synchronized within ± 1 day of estrus with donor. Three of the recipients were pregnant and delivered 6 kids (2 kids per doe).

        콩짚의 품종별 사료가치 비교

        To evaluate the nutritive values of soybean straws of the different varieties, chemical compositions and in vitro digestibilities were examined. The soybean varieties used in this study were Bongeui, Dongbug, Suweon 86, Kwangkyo, Yugoo 3 and Hill. The results obtained are summarized as follows (1) The average weight of soybean straws was 12.0 g. The propotion of pod and stem were 60.4% and 39.6% of the straw fractions on a dry matter basis. (2) Although there were no differences in chemical composition, crude protein was slightly higher in Bongeui and Hill than in others. Pod contained more crude protein, nitrogen free extract, crude ash, cell content and hemicellulose than stem, but reverse phenomena were observed in the contents of cell wall constituents (CWC), acid detergent fiber (ADF), cellulose and lignin. (3) Dry matter, neutral detergent fiber (NDF), ADF and cellulose digestibilities of soybean straws in vitro were highest in Kwangkyo and lowest in Yugoo 3. Dry matter, NDF, ADF and cellulose digestibilities of pod in vitro were higher than those of stem. Eighty percent of the straw fraction, pod and stem based on a dry matter were disappeared within 48 hours by in vitro digestion.

        Prostaglandin F2α 와 Estradiol Benzoate 병용투여가 (倂用投與) 돼지의 분만유기에 미치는 효과

        This experiment was conducted to investigate a suitable method to synchronize farrowing in sows under field conditions. Ninety crossbred sows of varying parity were randomly assigned to one of eight treatment groups and control. Sows were treated with prostaglandin F₂α and estradiol benzoate, prostaglandin F2α or prednisolone acetate. Intramuscular injections were given on day 111 between 0800 and 0100 hours. Controls received 5ml normal saline. Blood samples were collected just prior to treatment and at the beginning of farrowing to determine the effect of treatments on plasma progesterone and estrogen levels. Plasma concentrations of progesterone and total unconjugated estrogens were measured by radioimmunoassay. The results were summarized as follows 1. Plasma concentrations of progesterone decreased to 0.04∼1.86ng/ml from 0.14∼6.16ng/ml, however, plasma estrogen levels increased from 1.45∼2.85ng/ml to 2.32∼7.25ng/ml after treatment. 2. Parturition was induced in all sows (100%) treated with l0mg of prostagl andin F₂α and 2mg of estradiol benzoate, this result was significantly different from control (p$lt;0.05). Also, the mean (±S.D.)hours from treatment to farrowing was 27.31±1.78 and parturition occured significantly earlier (p$lt;0.05) in the sows treated with 10mg of prostaglandin F₂α and 2mg of estradial benzoate. 3. Mean differences in the duration of farrowing, total number of piglets born, number born alive, still birth rate, birth weights, total number of piglets weaned, weaning weights and interval from weaning to next estrus were not different among treatment groups (p$gt;0.05). These results indicate that injection of l0mg of prostaglandin F₂α in combination with 2mg of estradiol benzoate will successfully induce parturition on the following day in a majority of treated sows.
