Vol.14 No.2

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of breathing styles on HR, EPOC, RER. 12 college females were participated and they were randomly assigned to one of two groups. Group I (n=s) : deep breathing style) Group B (n=6) : control group. Study subjects completed a maximal oxygen uptake treadmill test(modified Bruce protocol), and measured the HR, EPOC, RER for 15 minute after exeise. The one-way ANOVA and two-way ANOVA were used to determine the statistical significance. There were no group differences in the EPOC, RER. But HR was significantly changed. In conclusion, it appears that breathing style can increase the recovery capacity after exercise in college females.

Vol.15 No.2

The purpose of this study is to compare/analyze the differece of $quot;Pre motor time(PMT)$quot; and $quot;Electromechanical delay(EMD)$quot; in maecimum isometric contraction between trained Taekwondo players and untrained man. this study can be concluded as follows 1. Trained players had 20msec earlier PMT than untrained people, but this difference was not significant statistically. 2. EMD was also shoter for trained players than untrained man, but this difference was of no statistical significance. 3. $quot;Total Reaction Time(TMT)$quot; was shoters for trained players than untrained man, which was also of no statistical significance. 4. Trained players had about O.QQ3 Arbitary unit lower than untrained man electric efficiency of muscles, which was not significant statistically. All in all, this study suggests that although training is not a whole factor determining PMT or EMD, it may affect them more or less and that other factors such as ratio of muscle-fiber formation, time of strength increasing and decreasing may as well be attributable to determining PMT or EMD if interacted with training.

Vol.14 No.2

In this research, the situation of girls and women sports in Asia was reviewed according to the type of the participation in sport : School Physical Education (P.E.), Elite Sport, and Leisure, and women`s role in the sport organization. Even though each country has it`s own distinctive social and culture background, physical education (P.E.) has been an important role in school education and students have opportunities to take their P.E, In the field of elite sport, woman athletes` achievement was very fruitful and prominent. It is reported that government policies are very important part of affecting women`s sport participation. Also, the common idea for woman (Set notion about woman) in our society could prevent from participating for physical activity. Even though women`s positive parCicipation in the field of school P.E., elite sport (competitive sport), and leisure sport, women`s representation in sport organizations remain Iow. By all means women`s representation in sport organizations should be dealt with so as to encourage girls and women for the benefit of their health and quality of life, as well as for the athletic achievement. This goal would not be reached unless we work together to promote equity and equal opportunities in policies and programs available for girls and women, along with the increasing roles of women in leadership to usher the 21st century.

Vol.12 No.1

This thesis made analyses of variance between groups by the time and between times by the group on the change of time for 15 minutes after maximal excercise, and analyzed the interaction effects between breathing types and time to examine the effects of conscious breathing types after maximal excercise on the recovery speed. In this study, non-athletes were tested divided into three groups of Sonshimnaegi in the traditional martial art Taekkyon, deep breathing, and natural breathing. As the results, the following conclusions were induced. First, the factors which had influence on the recovery speed of the heart-beat rate after excercise were breathing types, rest time, and their interaction. In addition, the recovery speed was faster in the order of the Sonshimnaegi group, the deep breathing group, and the natural breathing group. Second, the breathing rate showed no significant difference between groups by the time, but showed significant difference between times by the group. In addition, the factors which had influence on the recovery speed after excercise were breathing types and rest time, but not their interaction. Third, the breathing types and rest time had no influence on the effects of thoracic and abdominal tension.

Vol.32 No.-

As an attempt to activate social sport, this paper has been devoted to discussion of some of the basic guidelines to constructing and operating the sports centers. The main points thus developed are as follows. 1. The form of a sports center to be constructed in relation to that of sports items(of a single, complex, or combined sports items) is of great importance in the whole construction plan concerning the determinations of the location for the sports center, the system of business, the construction scale, the class of the facility users, and the overall operating matters. 2. The condition of location for sport(the commercial working areas, the main traffice areas, or the residential areas) is also an important factor to be considered. As for the commercial working areas, which are chiefly composed of the 20s of age or over, it is recommendable that the sports centers of such single items as bowling, swimming, jogging, gymnastics, or golf or those of complicated and combined forms by some of these items be built. As for the main traffic areas full of people, sports items such as bowling, table tennis, or billiard are suitable. And for the residential areas, it is desired that the gymnasiums of taekwondo or judo for children, the aerobic facilities for housewives, and swimming pools, jogging places, health clubs for all age groups be built. 3. After the form of business and the location of a sports center determined, the forms of management of the same bussiness world nearby, the spread of population of the community, and the tastes in sport among the residents should be investigated and analyzed before deciding the size and the form of the facilities of the new sports center. The alalysis of management of the same business world has to be done within a 5Km radius from the location being constructed. The polulation within a 2Km radius may be estimated to be regular customers. 4. The paths of flow for the customers of sports centers are almost in the same form. In order to the convenience of exercises, much care has to be taken about the line of flow for combined sports centers furnished with a swimming pool, an aerobic room, a jogging place, a training room, a health checkup room, an exercise testing room, an exercise prescription laboratory, a nutrition prescription laboratory, sauna rooms for men and women, restaurants, sleeping rooms, a conference room, a resting room, bathrooms, and shower rooms, etc. 5. For the smooth operation of a sports center, it is essential to provide a control office, a health checkup room, and a exercise leaders' room and so forth, which have their own unique works. In order to raise the quality of service for the members, it is necessary to recruit a considerable number of competent leaders, to train them through the center's own teaching program and to let them participate in some seminars and training programs according to their works. 6. A sports center should provide its suitable exercise program to each member according to the medical test result in the health checkup room and then the modified programs in conformity to the degree of improvement in the exercising capability and the various physical strength factors. Even though these points made so far may not be the absolute guidelines, they can be the basic ones to be considered as for the construction and operation of a sports center. In conclusion, this paper has been attempted to be a reference material for the sports centers to be constructed in future. In the next study, it is necessary to deal with an account of the unit cost for constructing a sports center. Finnally, I hope to see many sports centers being built in a near future so as to vitalize sports for all.
