In this study, a web-based home indoor air quality evaluation program was developed and the program was apply to the mock-up test cell. To develop the evaluation program, algorithm was determined and the material database was established. Then the user interface was developed in a web base. This program is expected to encourage the appropriate reaction from the designers and the engineers to improve the indoor air quality of newly built homes.

To cope with the high oil prices, in 2008, the government announced the energy saving policy to public office building that indoor temperature is restricted 26℃ in summer and 20℃ in winter. Using this restricted set temperature, it can produce reduction of energy consumption. However, without consideration of building's characteristic and occupant thermal comfort, it can cause thermal discomfort to occupants. There are various parameters which give the effect to comfort of occupants except temperature. For this reason, controlling indoor thermal environment is needed under the standard of comfort. The purpose of this study is to analyze influence of thermal comfort parameters in office buildings. The thermal comfort parameters between summer and winter which give effects on indoor comfort are analyzed to show the differences on season. In this study, sensitive analysis of PMV as follows in n variable of thermal comfort parameters - metabolic rate> clothing insulation> temperature, mean radiant temperature> air velocity> relative humidity - in variable of thermal comfort parameters.

The purpose of this study is to propose the method of selecting the residential heat pump system to reduce the building energy consumption. The heat pump system which is using the maximum heating load, existing select way, is oversized and wasting the period energy consumption. To solve the this problem, in this study, we analyze the heating load of the model building in Seoul and it is used for new method, selecting the heat pump system. To compare the energy consumption between several systems, we simulate the period energy consumption with MATLAB/Simulink tool. Furthermore, one more thing to suggest is Hybrid Heat Pump System, using Heat pump and Electrical Heater together, for comfort, because the new method can be down-sized. The results of this study are as follows; the method of selecting the residential heat pump system and the propose the new method how to using the Hybrid Heat Pump System (Heat Pump + Electrical Heater)

The purpose of this study is to compare two widely used building energy performance calculation methods: quasi-steady-state method, based on ISO 13790, integrated in PHPP program and dynamic method integrated in EnergyPlus. It also aims to identify programs characteristics and analysis methods by considering the sensitivity of the weather factors when loaded in the program. By analyzing the heating and cooling energy demand of light-weight mass construction and heavy-weight mass construction models based on the regional weather data, the study found that heavy-weight mass showed considerable differences in heating and cooling energy demand compared to light-weight mass buildings, there was a notable difference in the outcome between PHPP and EnergyPlus programs.

Simultaneously optimizing energy demand and indoor air quality objectives can lead to flexible ventilation strategies for diverse air conditions. The purpose of this research is on providing a reference for multi-criteria decision analysis of the outdoor air control. In order to determine the optimal outdoor air fraction, a multi-objective optimization framework is proposed. The cooling coil energy demand of an AHU with an economizer cycle and the indoor PM2.5 concentration are set as two control objectives that should be optimized. Results showed that if the outdoor air fraction is determined solely considering the energy demand, indoor air quality is not controlled, whereas pareto optimal solutions provide the trade-off solutions from which the decision makers can choose according to their specific needs.
데이터센터의 성능기반설계를 위한 냉방 시스템 설계지원 및 에너지 성능분석 툴 개발

Recently, the annual PUE level of data centers in Korea was around 1.3, which corresponds to a significantly improved energy performance as compared to conventional data centers. In order to achieve an annual PUE of 1.3, a cooling system equipped with an economizer is essential. Since the cooling energy saved by the application of the economizer depends on outdoor air conditions, annual energy simulation is required to evaluate the energy performance of the system. Meanwhile, most data centers operate under partial load conditions and only have cooling loads throughout the year. Therefore, evaluating system energy consumption requires considering the dynamic performance of the equipment under off-design conditions. The purpose of this study is to develop data center cooling system designs and energy analysis tools for mechanical equipment engineers. For verification of the developed tool, simulation results were compared to DesignBuilder model.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of indoor thermal environment and energy consumption according to the change of design heating load in the apartment house where the radiant floor heating system was applied. Simulations were performed to investigate the heating performance, indoor thermal environment, and energy when habitual radiant floor heating system was applied to low-load apartment houses and understand the direction of application of a radiant floor heating system. The results indicated that the application of a radiant floor heating system based on the new design according to the heating load in low-load apartments was advantageous in terms of performance, indoor warmth, and energy consumption.
