Cheomseongdae is the masonry stone structure with the cultural and historical values. But, this structure has the various damages such as cracks, gaps, slope variations and ground subsidence. So, the interests for the safety security in the structural parts have been increased. Therefore, this study performs the structural modelling which considers the several damage cases, and then evaluates the structural behavior characteristics through the discrete element analysis. Especially, this study checks the swelling and displacement gap of the whole structure and the separation between the neighboring members.
수학적 계획법을 이용한 복층 볼트시스템의 구조최적화 방안

This study presents the shape decision and structural optimization techniques for the double-layer vault system. Double-layer vault system takes less weight than general space frame structures and is widely used with the advantages of the lightweight structure, mass production and quick construction. But, the initial design of double-layer vault system depends on the structural engineer's experience and the repeated trial and error. Therefore, the optimization of double-layer vault system by controling displacement and stress needs a method to determine the optimal shape. First, this study develops the shape decision method for modeling double-layer vault system and presents the size and shape optimization techniques that can select main design valuables according to the radius of curvature, lattice division and height. Also, the automated computation of joint coordinates and numbering technique, and automatic input of the load are considered for the shape modeling. Finally, the optimal design and algorithm using sensitivity analysis technique through mathematical programming method are verified through the analysis example.

Space frame structures have the different shapes according to generation principle and member connection method. Thus, space frame dome structures need the optimal shape design method according to requirements. The optimal design method for space frame structures generally adopts the size and shape optimization method that aims at optimal weight. This optimization method shows the results which consider the minimum weight with appropriate shapes from stress and displacement constraints. But, it is not easy to secure the maximum stiffness of structure because the optimal weight design is established by the given constraint conditions. Therefore, this study finds out the optimal structural shape that has the maximum stiffness through the stiffness optimization method. To this end, we first select the various types of space frame dome structures and generate the dome structure shapes using VBA(Visual Basic for Application). Also, we consider the various load conditions and perform the optimal stiffness design for the performance comparison of dome structures. In this way, the total weights and displacements are evaluated during the stiffness optimization process according to the height variations of dome structures.

Space frame system is applied to various parts of large spatial dome structures. Especially, space frame dome structure is composed of traditional shape or the combinations of various shapes and new design. In this case, the big difference in the total weight and behavior of structures is shown, based on the selection of space frame dome structure and the difference of member connection, even if they have same size and height. For this reason, it is not easy to decide the optimal shape in the design of this system. Therefore, this study presents the shape generation method and then try to develop the shape generation module. To this end, the node and member generation technique is formulated to consider the characteristics of shapes through the various example selection of space frame dome structure. Also, various example models are presented for efficiency evaluation of the shape generation technique and optimization results are compared through the application of optimization algorithm.

The stone pagoda structures have been constructed in outside place and are exposed at various damages due to the physical phenomenon and natural disaster. Especially, the damage of stylobate has an effect on the safety of the whole structure because the stylobate on the foundation supports the upper structures and loads. Therefore, the various design variables are derived through the investigation for the several damages in stylobate and influence factors on the whole structure. Also, this study evaluates the mechanical behavior characteristics for the representative models considering the stylobate damage factors through the structural analysis and modelling. Through the analysis results, the damage factors in the stylobate occur the stress concentration on the neighbor elements and influence on the safety of the whole structure.
