      • 森林土壤의 養分保有能에 關하여

        1. 地質學的으로 同一한 起源을 가진 4地域의 2群의 林土에 對하여 그의 養分保有能을 調査하였다. 2. 森林群落으로 光陵에서는 松林, 전나무林, 신갈나무林, 갈참나무林, 伽倻山에서는 松林, 신갈나무林, 서나무林, 智異山에서는 松林, 신갈나무林, 서나무林, 동백나무林, 海南에서는 붉가시나무林, 신갈나무林, 굴참나무林, 서나무林을 選定하였다. 3. 森林土의 養分의 流失量을 雨期와 乾期에 測定하였다. 4. 雨期에 滅少되는 養分은 有機物, 鹽基飽和度, 硝酸態窒素, 置換性石灰等이다. 5. 雨期에 增加되는 養分은 pH, 鹽基置換能, 置換性水素, 置換性 Mg等이다. 6. 本 硏究는 林型의 差異가 그의 土壤의 性格에 變異를 가져 올수 있다는 것을 밝히였다. 7. 土壤性能과 氣候條件 卽 乾期와 雨期와의 相關은 土壤性能의 要素로 選擇된 土壤養分에 對한 T檢定에 의하여 決定하였다. 8. 林土의 養分保有能은 氣候條件에 依하여 영향을 받지 않으며, 一年을 通하여 一定한 level로 維持되는 養料의 數에 依하여 推定될수 있다. 9. 土壤의 養分保有能에 寄與할수 있는 要素는 有機物, 鹽基置換能, 암모니아態窒素, 有效燐酸, 置換性鹽基 및 石灰等이다. 10. 養分保有能은 光陵의 砂壤土에서는 소나무林이 闊葉樹林보다 높다. 11. 伽倻山에서는 闊葉樹林地가 松林地보다 더 높은 養分保有能을 나타낸다. 12. 智異山과 海南과 같이 比較的 溫濕하며 土壤이 粘土質인 곳에서는 闊葉樹林에서 養分保有能이 더 높았다. The aim of the present study is to measure the properties of woodland soils at the dry and wet periods in order to estimate the nutrient holding capacity of the soils in the various forest types. On the two groups of soils of similar geological origin, the nutrient holding capacity of woodland soils was studied at four sites South Korea. The forest types selected at kwangnung are Pinetum densiflorae, Abietum holophyllae, Quercetum mongolicae, and Q. alienae; at Kaya, Pinetum densiflorae, Quercetum mongolicae, and Carpinetum laxiflorae; at Chii, Pinetum densiflorae, Quercetum mongolicae, Carpinetum laxiflorae, and Camellietum japonicae; at Haenam, Quercetum acutae, Q. mongolicae, Q. variabilisae, and Carpinetum laxiflorae etc. The rate and magnitude of leaching of woodland soils are investigated at the dry and wet seasons. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. The soil properties depleted at the wet season are organic matter, percentage of base saturation, nitrate nitrogen, and exchangeable calcium. 2. The soil properties increased at the wet season are the pH, base exchange capacity, exchangeable hydrogen, and exchangeable magnesium. 3. The investigation has shown differences between the forest types which can be attributed to the characteristics of their soils. 4. The correlation of the soil properties with the climatic condition, i.e., the wet and dry season, was determined by a T test of significance for elect the soil nutrient materials as a factor of soil nutrient. 5. The nutrient materials attributed to the nutrient holding capacity of woodland soils are organic matter, base exchange capacity, ammonium nitrogen, available phosphorus, and exchangeable base and calcium. 6. The nutrient holding capacity of woodland soils is estimated by the number of nutrient materials which are not affected by the climatic condition but remain in a definite level through the year in the plot. 7. The nutrient holding capacity is higher in the soils of pine stand at Kwangung where the soil is sandy loam. 8. At kaya the hardwood stand shows higher holding capacity of nutrient materials

        Williarns의 유명한 여주인공들은 Rose Tatoo의 경우를 제외하고는 대부분이 그의 초기작품에서 발견된다. 본 소고는 그들의 성격 형성에 영향을 주는 작품구성상의 극적조건을 연구 분석한다. Williarns의 모든 초기 작품에는 Moon Lake라는 상징적인 호수가 존재한다. Glass Menagerie에서 Moon Lake Amanda가 Blue Mountain에서 Gentleman caller들사이에서 대단한 인기가 있었던 그의 처녀 시절으 회상 장면에서 다음고 같이 소개된다. Robert Jones는 Williams의 여주인공들을 다음과 같이 평가하고 있다. Critics have generally agreed that the heroins of Tennessee Williams are his finest creations… to them, Williams has brought much insight. This insight has, since 1945, provided the American theater with several characters who may well rank in future histories of American dramatic literature with Eugene O'Neil's Anna Christie and Nina Leeds as the most successful creations of drama-tic heroines in the first half of the twentieth century.(1)

      • 우리나라 밤나무의 生長과 土壤養分과의 關系

        English-sample plots were selected in chestnut stands in the districts of Yang-ju and Tang-jin in order to investigate the relationship between height growth of chestnut trees and soil nutrients. The heights and ages of representative trees on each plot were measured and height/age curves were developed from the dominant trees on several polts and site index curves are then drawn from them. Soil samples were taken from the pits dug on each plot, and loss-on-ignition, total nitrogen, pH, exchangeable phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesim, and soil moisture were determined for each site. The foliage of chestnut trees in critical height was sampled from each plot and analyzed for nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, ealcium, and magnesium. By regression analysis technique it was shown that height growth of chestnut trees in the districts of Yang-ju and Tang-jin was closely related to their foliar nitrogen and phosphorus. Attempt were made to relate foliar nitrogen and phosphorus. Attempt were made to relate foliar nitrogen and phosphorus to the various soil nutrients measured, and the soil calcium was found to be negatively correlated. Probably sites with low calcium are sites with high availity of nitrogen and phosphorus which results in higher concentration of nitrogen and phosphorus in chestnut trees, and consequently increased height growth.

      • 落葉의 生産과 分解에 따르는 森林土壤의 變動에 對하여

        1. An investigation was performed to reveal the relation of the production and decomposition of the pine and oak litters in the Kwagnung plantation stand. 2. The total annual litter production was 2700 pounds in the pine and 3700 pounds in the oak stands on an acre basis. 3. The decay constant, k, or litters was as follows; k=0.13 for pine, k=0.28 for oak stand. 4. The curve for the accumulation of organic carbon derived from pine and oak litters is rising up to steady state with a zigzag path in Kwangnung plantation stand. 5. The time required for the decomposition of half of the accumulated organic matter of pine and oak stand are 5.3 and 2.5 years and for 99% of elimination 38.4 and 17.9 years. 6. The amount of the mineral nutrients returned annually to the soil is higher in the oak forest than in the pine forest.

        (1) 本 實驗에서는 Alkali 土壤의 두가지 成分이 되고 있는 NaCl과 Na_2CO_3가 普通作物의 生育 및 그들의 內部 成分에 미치는 영향을 土壤栽培를 通하여 調査하였다。 (2) 土壤에 施加한 두 鹽類외 比較的 적은 濃度差는 植物외 內部 成分에 현저히 差異를 가져 오는 것을 알 수 있었다。 (3) 두 鹽類의 濃度가 높아 감을 따라 作物의 生育은 減少를 나타내는데 生育間의 差異는 育意치 못하다。 (4) 三作物의 Chlorophyll 및 Carotene 含量은 두 鹽類가 증가 함을 따라 減少되었으며 두 고類에 依한 그들의 含量 差는 有意하지 못하다。 (5) 三作物의 生長率은 Chlorophyll 및 Carotene 量과 크게 相伴되다。 (6) 무, 배추의 Vitamin C 含量은 두 鹽類의 濃度에 比例하여 증가 하였다。이 差는 배추에 있어서 높은 有意性을 나타내다。 (7) Chlorophyll과 Vitamin C의 含量은 發育이 진전됨에 따라 달라지는데 이 差異는 有意한 것이었다。 (8) Carotene 含量은 Chlorophyll 量과 함께 變하였는데 Carotene/Chlorophyll의 比는 Beak와 Redman이 얻은 結果처럼 높은 것은 아니었다.

      • 林土의 有機物의 分解速度와 無機養料의 垂直分布에 關한 考察

        Kim Choon Min, Chang Nam Kee and Chung Whan Ho: Decomposition rate of plant residue and the vertical distibution of mineral nutrients in the woodland soil. The relationship between decomposition rate of litter and the amount of mineral nutrients dispersed to the soil horizons were studied on the oak and pine forest stand. The results are as follows: 1. Decomposition rate of litter was highest in the F horizon of the oak stand, however in the pine stand it was highest in H horizon. 2. The correlation coefficients between decomposition rate and humus, organic carbon, moisture content, calcium, phosphorus, and nitrogen in the pine stand are; 0.90, 0.98, 0.76, 0.98, and 0.88, in oak stand; 0.97, 0.93, 0.92, 0.97, 0.74 and 0.73. 3. Factors which affect the decomposition rate of litter are humus, organic carbon, moisture content, calcium, phosphorus and nitrogen. 4. Among the variables, PH, moisture content and phosphorus under the oak and pine forest showed significant differences in each horizon. 5. C/N ratio of pine stands is higher than that of oak stands studied. 6. The vertical distribution of mineral nutrients is highly related with the amount of humus accumulated on top soil.

        1. This stuy is an evaluation of changes in the properties of the exchangeable bases which might vary due to the added salts (NaCl and Na_2 CO_3)in the soil 2. The values of the base exchange capacty and of the total exchangeable bases are higher in the soil of NaCl plots than that of the Na_2CO_3 plots 3. The different values of the total exchangeable bases shown in the soil under radish and cabbage are not significant. 4. The significant difference of the total exchangeable bases between NaCl plot and Na_2CO_3 plot correlats with the pH of soil solution.
