Acupuncture has been used as a clinical treatment in Oriental medicine for various diseases. In the present study was carried out to investigate the effects of acupuncture and electrical stimulation on the change neuronal nitric oxide synthase(nNOS) immunoreactive cells in the periaqueductal gray(PAG) area of the male SD rats. Enhanced expression of nNOS was detected in the dorsolateral-PAG(DL-PAG) area of rat with stress by fixed body, and acupuncture and needle electrode electrical stimulation groups at Hapgok like acupoint decreased the stress-induced enhancement in the expression of nNOS. The present results demonstrate that acupuncture and needle electrode electrical stimulation is effective in the modulation of expression of nNOS in the DL-PAG area under stress conditions.

Eosinophilic, polymorphic, and pruritic eruption associated with radiotherapy (EPPER) is a disorder characterized by polymorphic papules, vesicles, and excoriations accompanied by a local or general itching sensation which can occur in cancer patients treated with radiotherapy. Histopathologic findings include a superficial and deep perivascular lymphohistiocytic infiltration with eosinophils. Most cases have occurred in patients with cervical cancer. To date, only one case of EPPER associated with breast cancer has been reported. We report a case of EPPER in a patient with breast cancer, who presented with eosinophilic, polymorphic, pruritic skin lesions in and around the irradiated left breast. In this paper, an improved non-isolated 3-level high step-up boost converter is proposed. By using the well known duality principle, the proposed converter is derived from two-phase buck converter. Compared with the traditional boost converter and 3-level boost converter, the proposed converter can obtain very high voltage conversion ratio and the voltage stress of switching devices and diodes is only 1/4 of the output voltage. A 1 kW prototype converter is built and tested to verify performances of the proposed converter.
