It is still controversial where the improved stability of n-octadecyltriethoxysilane self-assembled monolayer (OTE SAM) on plasma-pretreated mica surface exactly originates from. To date, it has been well known that the extensive cross-polymerization between silane head-groups is a crucial factor for the outstanding mechanical strength of the monolayer. However, this study clearly showed that the stability comes not only from the cross-links but also, far more importantly, from the direct chemical bonds between silane headgroups and mica surface. To examine this phenomenon, n-octadecyltrichlorosilane monolayers were self-assembled on both untreated and plasma treated mica surfaces, and their adhesion properties at various physical conditions (relative humidity, high stress, and contact repetition) were investigated and compared through the use of the surface forces apparatus technique. It revealed that, in highly humid conditions (>90%RH), there is a substantial difference of stability between untreated and plasma treated cases and the plasma treated surface is mechanically much more stable. It obviously proves that the extensive chemical bonds indeed exist between silane head-groups and plasma treated mica surface and dramatically improve the mechanical stability of the OTE monolayer-coated mica substrate.

In this study, the cause of brake squeal is investigated and the design modification for reducing the squeal is proposed. To estimate the dynamic stability of a disc brake assembly, the complex eigenvalue analysis is performed through the following 3 steps; 1) modal correlation between FE analysis and testing for each component, 2) non-linear static analysis for the braking pressure application, 3) complex eigenvalue analysis for the brake assembly using ABAQUS. The analysis results show good correlation with vehicle testing for the squeal frequency at an unstable mode. To investigate the cause of instability, the mode tracking of the unstable mode is performed with varying friction coefficient up to 0.6. The results reveal that two separated stable modes meet at the friction coefficient of 0.18 and create the complex mode pair. To reduce the instability. the structural modifications are proposed and evaluated by the FE analysis.

The effects of twinning on the deformation behavior were investigated through the analysis of tensile tests and pole figure measurements. The plateau of strength was observed' at about 300-400℃ and the maximum of activation volume (V*) appeared at about 400℃. It was confirmed that the (1012) twinning system operated and the amount of (1012) twinning system increased with temperature up to 330℃ in the transverse tensile specimens. The minimum of total elongation occurred at about 350℃, at which the operation of twinning system disappeared, and above which the 〈a+c〉 slip operated instead of twinning, and the activation volume increased abruptly, simultaneously. Thus, the interaction of dislocation became enhanced above 350℃. This is the reason for the phenomenon of the activation volume maximum and abnormal plateau of strength occurred at about 400℃.
RFID 시스템에서 패리티 메카니즘을 이용한 충돌방지 알고리즘

RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) 시스템에서 사물에 부착된 태그에 대한 식별은 리더의 요청으로 시작한다. 리더가 요청을 하면 리더의 인식영역 내에 있는 다수의 태그는 동시에 응답을 하여 충돌이 발생한다. 리더는 인식영역 내의 모든 태그들을 빠르게 인식하는 충돌방지 알고리즘이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 패리티 메카니즘을 이용한 충돌방지 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘에서, 태그는 리더의 요청 프리픽스와 일치하는 태그들 중 프리픽스 다음의 2 비트들의 ‘1’의 개수가 짝수인 태그 그룹은 ‘0’ 슬롯에 응답하고, ‘1’의 개수가 홀수인 태그 그룹은 ‘1’ 슬롯에 응답하게 하여 충돌을 방지한다. 해당슬롯에 응답에 따라 존재하는 태그 아이디만 응답할 수 있도록 요청 프리픽스를 생성한다. 또한 해당 슬롯에 충돌이 2개인 경우에는 패리티 메카니즘을 이용하여 2개의 태그를 인식한다. 즉, 전체적인 질의 횟수를 줄여 인식시간을 단축한다. In RFID systems, identifying the tag attached to the subject begins with the request from a reader. When the reader sends a request, multiple tags in the reader’s interrogation zone simultaneously respond to it, resulting in collision. The reader needs the anti collision algorithm which can quickly identify all the tags in the interrogation zone. We propose the Anti Collision Algorithm using Parity Mechanism(ACPM). In ACPM, a collision can be prevented because the tags which match with the prefix of the reader’s request respond as followings; the group of tags with an even number of 1’s in the bits to the prefix + 2nd bits responds in slot ‘0’, while the group of tags with an odd number of 1’s responds in slot ‘1’. The ACPM generates the request prefix so that the only existing tags according to the response in the corresponding slot. If there are two collided bits in tags, then reader identify tags by the parity mechanism. That is, it decreases the tag identification time by reducing the overall number of requests.

The efficient data management over the whole lifecycle becomes more important since it increases the competitiveness of industries. In particular, the data management in the nuclear power plant is very important and critical due to several regulations and safety reasons. Nowadays, the nuclear power plant industry has become more interested in the integrated data management not only within EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) or O&M (Operation and Maintenance) phase but also over whole lifecycle phase. This study is based on on-going project for developing the plant lifecycle information management system over the whole product lifecycle of a nuclear power plant in South Korea. To develop the lifecycle information management system for a nuclear power plant, first and foremost, it is necessary to describe information flows over several organizations during the plant lifecycle, which are used as inputs for implementing relevant applications in the information system. In this study, we look into the previous approaches on information flow modeling for a nuclear power plant PLM.

전력거래소에서는 수요관리에 대한 지원금을 수요측의 입찰제도를 통하여 결정하는 시범사업을 실시하고 있다. 본 논문은 수요입찰에 의한 지원금의 결정에 관여하는 급전계획 프로그램에 대한 내용을 기술하고 있다. Scheduling 프로그램은 수요의 비선형 특성을 고려하기 위하여 혼합정수계획법(MIP)을 이용하여 작성하였으며 효용성을 입증하기 위한 사례검토를 수행하였다.
