Knowledge of acoustic transmission loss of acoustic window material has a great importance for the sonar performance in ship. The purpose of this study was to investigate the measurement and analysis method for the acoustic transmission loss of the acoustic window materials for sonar dome. The measurement and analysis were carried out in water with GRP material. Transmission losses were calculated based on integrated direct and transmitted signals. The experimental setup enabled to vary the angle of incidence. Thus the transmission loss data could be expressed as the function of frequency and angle of rotation. In this paper, diffraction effect of incident angle, size of specimen with test material, transmission analysis method and multiple waves as incident acoustic signal were discussed.

In order to examine the working condition of melts in tin bath of float process it was investigated Sn diffusion behavior and solidification rate of melts for alkali-alkaline earth-silica PDP substrate glasses such as commercial CaO rich CS-77 glass, commercial $Al_2O_3$ rich PD-200 glass and self developed $SiO_2$ rich T-series (T-2, T-4, T-6) glasses. In the case of Sn depth and concentration created in glass surface by ion exchange between Sn and alkali, T-series showed lower value than CS-77, especially T-2 is more excellent than PD-200. The solidification rate of melts expressed by cooling time between $log{\eta}=4\;and\;7.6dPa{\cdot}s$ was low for T-series comparing with CS-77 and PD-200. Therefore, it was concluded that T-series is desirable considering forming condition in the tin bath of the float process.

For substrate glass applied to PDP (Plasma Display Panel), it has been developed many glass compositions that have to not only meet the specifications of PDP but also satisfy the float process as production technology. In the present work several compositions with no deformation at PDP processing temperature and thermal expansion coefficient of $83{\sim}9{\times}10^{-7}/K$ were designed. Based on viscosity at high temperature and liquidus temperature for those compositions, three candidate compositions named T-2, T-4, T-6 were selected finally. It was examined additionally that thermal shrinkage at PDP processing temperature and visible transmittance. The properties of T-series were compared with those of commercial glasses and discussed from the view point of PDP device and glass production.

The outbreak of lumpy skin disease (LSD), caused by LSD virus (LSDV), in Jeollabuk-do was first confirmed at a Korean cattle farm in Buan-gun on October 24, 2023. Afterwards, thirteen cases (twelve cases in Gochang-gun and a case in Imsil-gun) were further confirmed, resulting in a total of fourteen cases over 25 days until November 17, 2023. Clinical examination were conducted on infected and co-habitting cattle from the LSD-affected farms with particular focus on the presence of nodules throughout the body such as head, neck, chest, femur, head, and perineum. As a results, abnormal clinical signs were observed in fifteen cows: loss of appetite in six cows, high fever in three cows, eye mucosal nodules in a cow, nasal mucosal nodules in six cows, nodules on perineum in five cows, scrotum nodules in two cows, papillary nodules in a cow, and/or skin nodules in eleven cows. By the PCR methods, the common gene of capripox virus and/or the specific gene of LSDV were detected in 35 of the 69 cows tested this study. In the Farm1, capripox virus-specific gene, LSDV wild strain-specific gene, and LSDV vaccine strain-spcific gene were simultaneously detected in affected cows, indicating the cattle farm was affected by various strain of LSDV. As a result of combining clincal examination and PCR test, it was found that clinically and subclinically infeted cows coexist in the LSDV-infected farms. These finding in this study will be a great help in diagnosis and prevention of the LSD in Korean cattle farms.

본 연구는 성별과 연령, 감성차원(날카롭다/부드럽다, 앳되다/성숙하다)에 따라 얼굴매력에 대한 평가가 달라지는지 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 각 참가자들에게 60개의 여성 얼굴 사진에 대하여 9점 척도로 이루어진 세 차원(‘날카롭다/부드럽다’, ‘앳되다/성숙하다’, ‘전혀 매력적이지 않다/매력적이다’)에 평정하도록 제시하였고, 총 131명이 참가하였다(초등학생: 48명, 중학생: 44명, 대학생: 39명; 남자: 60명, 여자: 71명). 연구 결과를 알아보기 위하여 다층분석을 실시하였다. 성별과 세 연령집단 모두 얼굴이 앳될수록, 부드러울수록 매력적으로 평가하였다. 한편 성별과 연령에 따른 매력 정도의 차이가 있었다. 대학생이 초등학생과 중학생보다 매력을 더 높게 평가하였고 남자보다 여자가 동일한 사진을 더 매력적으로 평가하였다. 또한 대학생과 초등학생 간의 ‘날카롭다/부드럽다’ 차원의 평가가 유의미하게 달랐으며, 이는 대학생보다 초등학생에게 ‘날카롭다/부드럽다’ 차원이 얼굴매력 평정에 더 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 해석된다. 본 연구 결과는 얼굴이 앳될수록, 부드러울수록 얼굴을 매력적이라고 판단하지만, 감성차원이 매력에 미치는 효과가 성별과 연령에 따라 차이가 있음을 시사한다. The aim of this study was to find whether the perception of facial attractiveness is influenced by gender, age and kinds of affective dimensions(sharp/soft, babyish/mature). In the study the participants (48 elementary school students, 44 middle school students, 39 university students comprised of 60 males and 71 females) were shown the photos of sixty female faces and asked to grade each face on a nine point scale in three different dimensions (sharp/soft, babyish/mature, attractive/unattractive). Results using Multi-level analysis, faces that were babyish and soft were perceived as more attractive regardless of gender and age. But differences were found in the strength of facial attractiveness by gender and age. Two groups (elementary school students and middle school students) perceived the same photos of female faces to be less attractive than the university students. Also, male participants perceived the faces to be less attractive than female participants. Moreover the study showed a significant difference between university students and elementary school students in relation to the sharp/soft dimension and this dimension was more influential on elementary school students than university students. These results further suggest that if a face looks babyish and soft, then the face will be perceived as attractive regardless of gender or age. However, the degree of facial attractiveness perceived depends on the participant``s gender and age.

Psychogenic Non Epileptic Seizure (PNES) refers to a case in which symptoms are similar to epileptic seizures (ES), but ES do not appear in EEG and temporary abnormalities caused by physical diseases are also excluded. Psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy are most commonly used, but standard treatment for PNES has not been established and there is no alternative treatment available in the case of patients those treatments are not applied. We herein report a case of 46 year old male diagnosed with PNES who suffered from generalized tonic-clonic seizures. The patient underwent korean medical treatment by acupuncture and herbal medicine. The clinical symptom was evaluated by assessing occurrence frequency, number of seizures per 28 days. Compared to the period without korean medical treatment, the number of seizures decreased during the treatment period. The present case report suggested that korean medical treatment could be an effective option for those PNES patients complaining generalized tonic-clonic seizures.
