국내 웹사이트의 이용자 정보수집 및 트래킹 현황에 관한 분석

근래의 인터넷 광고는 인터넷 이용자를 트래킹(tracking)하여 다양한 형태 정보 등을 수집하고, 이를 토대로 다양한 맞춤형 서비스나 맞춤형 광고를 제공하는 데 활용한다. 이 논문에서는 국내 온라인 광고시장의 토대가 되는 인터넷 트래킹 현황에 관하여 쿠키를 중심으로 분석하였다. 국내 인터넷 사용자가 가장 많이 방문하는 91개 사이트를 조사 대상으로 삼아 이들 사이트에서 수집되는 쿠키의 현황에 관해 분석한 결과, 국내 인터넷 환경에서 매우 광범위한 트래킹이 이루어지고 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 당사자 쿠키는 물론 제3자 쿠키가 광범위하게 이용되고 있었다. 실제 트래킹의 현황은 개벌 사이트나 개벌 기업에 따라 크게 다르게 나타나고 있는데, 이 중 일부에서는 복수의 기기를 이용하는 이용자를 추적하기 위한 기기 간 트래킹(cross device tracking)을 하기에 충분할 만한 정보를 수집하고 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 최근 몇 년간 국내 인터넷 환경에서 트래킹이 크게 증가하였고, 특히 모바일 환경에서는 트래킹이 수년 사이에 10배 이상의 수준으로 폭발적으로 증가한 것으로 파악되었다. Internet users` online activities are closely monitored and tracked by various Internet companies. These companies compile and analyze users` information, and use the result of analytics, among others, for purposes of delivering targeted online advertisements. This article reflects an attempt to find out what kind of tracking activities are taking place in reality. The results of the analyses include the following: first, tracking of Internet users is already common and has become even more common; second, related markets are in flux and, in particular, tracking in the mobile environments has grown tremendously during the past several years; third, there is circumstantial evidence that cross device tracking is taking place; and, fourth, while a few established global companies seem to be particularly active in the related marketplace, it appears that competition among domestic companies is fierce and that things are in flux.

? Human behavior assuredly affects financial markets. What makes it hard to take into consideration those influence is that the behavior of market participants is rather hard to quantify. ? Notwithstanding, data sources, such as Google query volumes or pageviews of Wikipedia, have been suggested as reflections of human behavior. Several studies claimed that stock market fluctuations could be foreseen with such data sets. ? By analyzing Google query volumes, however, we find "early warning signs" works only when stock markets crashes. We also find some patterns may reverse depending on the circumstances.
