Skin lesions are common diseases that range from skin rashes to skin cancer, which can lead to death. Note that early diagnosis of skin diseases can be important because early diagnosis of skin diseases considerably can reduce the course of treatment and the harmful effect of the disease. Recently, the development of computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems based on artificial intelligence has been actively made for the early diagnosis of skin diseases. In a typical CAD system, the accurate classification of skin lesion types is of great importance for improving the diagnosis performance. Motivated by this, we propose a novel deep ensemble classification with multi-scale attention networks. The proposed deep ensemble networks are jointly trained using a single loss function in an end-to-end manner. In addition, the proposed deep ensemble network is equipped with a multi-scale attention mechanism and segmentation information of the original skin input image, which improves the classification performance. To demonstrate our method, the publicly available human skin disease dataset (HAM 10000) and the private animal skin lesion dataset were used for the evaluation. Experiment results showed that the proposed methods can achieve 97.8% and 81% accuracy on each HAM10000 and animal skin lesion dataset. This research work would be useful for developing a more reliable CAD system which helps doctors early diagnose skin diseases.

Wind tunnel tests are performed so as to investigate the aerodynamic drag characteristics of HEMU-400x, next generation Korean high speed train. The experiments of 1/20 scaled 5-car train model are done at 30, 40, 50, 60m/s with a normal bogie, a bogie cover, and a streamlined shape. The flat plate with knife edge are installed to minimize the effect of boundary layer of wind tunnel for the train model. The aerodynamic drag reduction was more by a streamlined shape than by a bogie cover from a normal bogie. Based on the experimental results, the aerodynamic drag of HEMU-400x test train(6-car) was predicted. It is prediceted that More bogie cover could reduce more aerodynamic drag of the test train in replacement of normal bogies.
단면적 크기의 변화에 따른 고속열차의 터널 주행 특성에 관한 수치적 연구

Aerodynamic characteristics of high speed train which travel through tunnel are analyzed by numericl method under tunnel's cross sectional area variation. At train's speed 300, 350, 400㎞/h, Axisymmetric numerical analyses are performed using Korean next generation high speed train HEMU-400x model and G7 model. The tunnel cross sectional areas have been investigated starting from the standard value of Seoul-Busan high speed line. As a result, the maximum value of the pressure variation inside the train is affected by the blockage ratio more, whereas the maximum value of the micro-pressure wave is affected by the train nose shape. The research result can be used as a guideline of another developments of high-speed trains and tunnel in the future.
편측 주행을 고려한 고속철도 터널의 후드 형상에 대한 연구

When a train enters into the tunnel with high speed, a compression wave generated inside the tunnel has been studied as a one-dimensional phenomenon. However, one-dimensional approach can't analyze 3-dimensional flow effect in the vicinity of the train body. In this research, so as to overcome this weak point, a prediction method of the wavefront of a compression wave using steady state solution has been used for the parametric study considering 3-dimensional effects of the interactions between trains and tunnels. The effective hood shapes were deduced in both cases of the train's entry into the tunnel on the single track and on a side of the double track. As a result, in case of the train's entry on a side of the double track, the increase of compression wave value propagated to the tunnel inside have appeared compared with the train's entry on the single track. Also, a horizontally convex elliptic hood shape is more effective at the train's entry on a side of the double track for the purpose of a decrease of wavefront gradient of a compression wave.

In this study, wind tunnel test were conducted to improve an aerodynamic performance of HEMU400X pantograph system with 4 types of pantograph housing models. Experimental models were 1/4 scaled pantograph system, 1/4 scaled ground plate which is scaled down to real roof shape of HEMU-400x, and 4 types of pantograph housing models. The free stream of wind tunnel were 20, 40, 60, 70m/s. The lift and drag forces were measured with 2-axis load cell. And, Total pressure were measured with rake in the wake region of panhead. In addition, Surface flow visualization by tufts were performed to know flow characteristics around pantograph housing. According to the results of force tests and surface visualizations, pantograph housing shape is important part because the shape affects to pantograph system. Therefore, it is considered that adaption of pantograph housing is more advantageous to decrease drag and acoustic noise.
