        반도체 산업의 작업환경과 질병의 경험들

        Objectives: Information of chemical in electronics industry has not been known enough, although workers` health hazards by chemicals in this industry have been regarded serious. The who always contribute to reveal and control the health hazards and risks in electronics industry have not been the industry but the occupational or environmental victims and grassroot organizations. The similar phenomena can be observed in Korea. Methods: The experiences of individual workers on the occuapational safety and health in semiconductor factory were heard separately and integrated with related literatures. Results: The first part of this article is largely based on the memories and experiences of individual workers of semiconductor factories, mainly from S semiconductor. Common features of those experiences can be a good resource for detail understanding of the workplace, especially under the situation without any transparent disclosure of information by the governments or the companies. The second part of this article deals with several factors to be considered for control of exposure in workplace; characteristics of workplace and workforce, types of chemicals used, and the way of using the chemicals. Then the current social issues on work-relatedness of cancers of S semiconductor workers are presented briefly. Conclusions: As a conclusion, current OSH situations and issues in Korean electronics industry raise the need of changes in OSH culture. General adaptation of precautionary principle, internalization of costs, and extended responsibility of producers are needed urgently. The OSH professionals both in public and private sectors should support these agendas under their social obligation to protect workers` health.

        어린이집의 영아를 위한 그림책 읽기 현황과 교사의 인식

        본 연구는 영아를 위한 그림책 읽기 현황과 교사의 인식을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울에 위하고 있는 어린이집의 영아반 교사 466명을 연구 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPPS 21.0을 사용하여 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였고 어린이집 기관 유형 변인과 교사 변인에 따라 x² 검증을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 영아 그림책 읽기가 매일 이루어진다고 응답한 비율이 가장 높았으며 기관의 유형의 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 자유놀이시간에 그림책 읽기가 주로 이루어진다는 응답이 가장 높았으며 교사 학력과 담당연령에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 반복읽기에 있어 영아들이 원할 때까지 그림책을 반복적으로 읽어준다고 응답한 비율이 가장 높았고 경력에 따른 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 넷째, 영아 그림책 읽기 목적에 대해 언어 발달 촉진을 위해서라는 응답이 가장 많았고 기관 유형과 담당 학급연령에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 다섯째, 영아 그림책 읽기의 어려움은 영아들의 주의 집중력 유지라는 응답이 가장 많았고, 기관 유형에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는, 보다 체계적인 교사 교육 프로그램 구성을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하여 궁극적으로 영아를 위한 그림책 읽기가 현장에서 좀 더 의미 있게 진행될 수 있길 기대한다. The study was designed to investigate how infant teachers organized picture-book reading practices in classroom and what was their perception on picture-book reading to infants. The researchers surveyed 466 teachers in infant-toddler classes at day care centers in Seoul. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0. The data were represented by frequency and percentage and were analyzed using x ² in accordance with the types of institution and teacher’s variables like teaching experience, educational levels and ages of infant they were teaching. First, the teachers the most likely to read picture-books to infants everyday, with statistically significant differences in the frequency of reading to infants according to the types of institution. Second, most teachers read picture-books to infants during free play time, and there were statistically significant differences in the time the teachers read to infants in accordance with education levels and teaching experiences of the teachers. Third, most teachers answered that they read picture-books to infants repetitively as many time as the infants desired and there were statistically significant differences in the degrees of repetition of reading depending on the teachers’ teaching experiences. Fourth, the most teachers answered that the purpose of reading picture-books to infants was to promote language development, and there were statistically significant differences in the purpose of reading to infants in terms of institution types and ages of infants the teachers were teaching. Fifth, the most teachers had difficulty in reading picture-books to infants because infants lost interest easily and had short attention span and there were statistically significant differences in the difficulty the teacher felt when they were reading to infants regarding institutional types. These findings are expected to provide a basis for teacher training programs, and ultimately allowing infants’ picture-book reading to develop in a more meaningful way.

        중환자실 간호 인수인계 프로토콜의 개발 및 평가

        Purpose: This study aimed to develop a nursing handoff protocol for intensive care units and test its relevance. Methods: This is a methodological research to develop a protocol. A preliminary protocol was developed by composing items and testing content validity through literature review and experts' review. We revised and complemented the preliminary protocol following practical relevance assessment of 38 intensive care unit nurses at a university hospital to test content validity and to assess practical relevance of the final protocol. Results: On the basis of the content validity test for the final protocol, 40 items were adopted. The scores for the practical relevance of the final protocol increased significantly for items such as accuracy of handoff, reduction of handoff-related errors, convenience in using the protocol, reduction in handoff time, and simplification of handoff. Conclusions: The nursing handoff protocol for intensive care units in this study is expected to improve nursing performance with a standardized handoff in intensive care units, promote patient safety, and improve communication among the medical staff.
