Across-wind fluctuating pressures on a square tall building is high local suctions that tend to dislodge the cladding. This causes the failure of cladding as well as fastener. Across-wind fluctuating pressures has non-Gaussian distribution, which is found to induce increased fatigue damage compared to Gaussian distribution. Simulation method is useful when a number of fluctuating pressure time histories are required to carry out extreme value analysis and fatigue design. The spectral correction method makes use of the backward and forward hermite transformation and is capable of matching a target power spectrum and four target moments. In this paper, the application of non-Gaussian simulation method using spectral correction method to the across-wind fluctuating pressures on a square tall building is assessed by comparing measured pressures in boundary-layer wind tunnel tests on scale models with simulated pressures.

Research about vibration control that use tuned liquid damper (TLD) that is economical and efficient to reduce vibration (vibration displacement and acceleration)occurrence about strong wind of tall building The effect of reducing vortex induced the vibration of tall buildings with TLD which has a aspect ratio of 8 was investigated in the boundary layer flows presenting suburban area. Using aeroelastic building model which have a TLD in the top level. The top displacement RMS value reduces to that of the original building model without a TLD when the generalized mass ratio equals to 1.0%. The optimal frequency of the TLD range between 0.9 and 1.0 of that of the building model which is consistent with the analytical derivation.

Serviceability of buildings is affect by excessive acceleration experienced at the top floors in wind storms that may cause discomfort to the occupants. Tuned liquid damper(TLD) and multiple tuned liquid damper(MTLD) are passive control devices that consists of rigid tank filled with liquid to suppress the vibration of structures. This TLD and MTLD are attributable to several potential advantages - low costs; easy to install in existing structures; effective even for small-amplitude vibrations. In this paper, the behavior of TLD and MTLD are investigated analytically and wind tunnel test of high-frequency force balance.

Measurement of fluctuating pressure by tube system is carefully designed due to the organ-pipe resonance. It is necessary to correct the pressure before analysis. The three method for correction the distortion fluctuation pressure, short tube length and the frequency response functions and insert a restrictor in the tube to increase the damping. The first method is useful when the tube length is short. In second method, the distorted signal through the tubing transformed into the frequency domain, dividing by transfer function and inverse fourier transforming back into the time domain gives the required pressure signal. In this paper three types of tubing which have different length of 100cm were experimented the distorted signal and correct the distortion signal.
