In this research, CFD was utilized for the performance analysis of submerged axial-flow pumps. the shape of pump blades was determined according to the Gottingen model. The grids were generated by GAMBIT, which is generally used for rendering unstructured grids. The grids employed in this study consisted of 3,363,663 tetrahedral grids and 53,070 prismatic grids. The prismatic grids were used to represent a 1mm gap between blades and casings. The turbulence model used for numerical analysis was k-e turbulence model. The analysis was performed on three domains, suction bell mouth, blade, and stator. The rotating domains of suction bell mouth and blade were calculated with MRF techniques, and each domain was connected by the mixing plan technique. Analysis results of the pressure drop and the pump efficiency showed a similar trend with the experiments.
