A wide variety of engine ventilation system concepts are used to circulate blow-by gases inside of engine for gasoline engines. For turbocharged gasoline engine, the complexity rises due to additional connection to turbocharger. One difficulty with engine ventilation is that many hardware concepts are possible and do exist in many Automotive companies and the industry does not seem to converge to one best practice regarding type of blow-by control devices and usage of fresh air. This research focus on the systematic comparison for specifications, system characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages of various ventilation system. The purpose of this study is to define important criteria necessary to meet system requirements and to decide the best system architecture of gasoline turbo engines. In order to decide optimal ventilation system for turbocharged gasoline engine, Pugh concept selection matrix is utilized to list the various concepts and evaluate them based on requirement.
스마트역사 건축설계 가이드라인 작성을 위한 이용자 기대 분석

본 연구는 스마트역사 건축설계 가이드라인 작성을 위한 기초 연구로 철도역 이용자를 대상으로 설문조사를 통해 스마트역사에 대한 기대 요소를 분석하고자 하는 것이다. 최근 철도건축분야에서 이루어지는 이용자 만족도에 관한 연구와 스마트역사에 대한 예측 연구의 분석을 통해 스마트역사의 이용자 기대 요소를 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 서울역과 대전역 철도이용객을 대상으로 스마트 폰을 활용하여 이용자 기대 설문 조사를 수행하였다. 그 결과, 이용자만족 요소에 대한 환승객과 30 분 이상 체류가능자의 중요도 선호가 다르게 나타났으며 통근, 업무, 레저 이용자 유형별 이용자 만족 선호도 상이하였다. 스마트역사의 기대 요소를 역사의 디자인 목적, 스마트시설, 정보제공환경, 공간디자인, 제공정보유형으로 나누어 조사하였으며 이용자 유형에 따라 상이한 선호결과를 도출하였다. This study aims to analyze a user expectation by the questionnaire survey targeting railway station users for developing smart railway station architectural design guidelines. By understanding a recent topic of the user satisfaction pyramid in railway architecture design and surveying smart railway station related researches, the questionnaire could be set up for the investigation. Then user expectation survey was executed on Korean railway station users in Seoul and Daejeon stations by using a smart phone. As a result, there is a difference on the preference of the user satisfaction factors between a transfer passenger and a passenger who can stay more than 30 minutes. Also the type of users (commuter, business and leisure) makes difference on the preference of user satisfaction factors. This study also could set up smart railway station expectation factors: design goal, smart facility, smart environment, space design, and type of information. And the survey shows that there is a difference on the preference on the smart railway station expectation based on the type of users.
캠커버 배플 플레이트 설계변경에 따른 PCV 오일분리성능에 관한 실험적 연구

PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system recirculates the blow-by gas inside of engine for emission regulation. As the blow-by gas transports oil droplets to air intake system that can result in oil consumption, deterioration of engine durability, engine torque drop and harmful emission, an oil separator with good efficiency is required. In this study, an experimental approach was taken in order to investigate an influence of each design factor of baffle separator to oil pullover through breathing air passage in high load conditions. Transparent cam cover was made to find out the oil pullover to breathing passage. After radical oil reversion phenomenon was observed, pressure distribution in cam cover oil separation chamber was measured in some areas to investigate an influence between pressure drop and oil reversion. As main factor was defined by visualization test and pressure measurement, some alternatives are developed to reduce a pressure drop and oil reversion. The final solution to prevent drastic oil reversion was verified through oil pullover test with catch jar.
