The main purpose of this study is to investigate an university hospital image of patients. The subjects of this study were 96 patients(in medical and surgical dept. subjects), admitted in an university hospital in Inchon. The main tool used for this study was developed by Kim, Ji Soo. It was composed of 32 items related to an image about an university hospital. The reliability of the tool was established.(Cronbach's α= .9074) The data was collected from August 1 to September 8,2000. The SPSS/PC+ statistical program was used for data analysis. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The average scores for the hospital image of patients were as follows hospital scale(3.81), medical equipment(3.72), cleanness(3.72), reputation(3.61), community service(3.59), kindness(3.55), confidence with medicine and nursing(3.51), medical staffs(3.26), convenience for use(3.22), medical fee(2.70). 2. Four components of general characteristics were statistically significant in their relationships with hospital image. They were age(F=7.0815, P=.0002), marriage status(F=7.0271, P=.0094), educations(F=3.2991, P=.0145), occupation(F=2.0729, P=.0548). In conclusion, average hospital image score of the patients was moderate.(M=3.48) Therefore further studies and efforts are needed to improve hospital image for the hospital marketing strategies.
효율적인 임상 간호교육과정 개선을 위한 신규간호사의 직무분석에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to examine a frequency of job performance, level of urgency, index of importance experienced by new nurses of medical and surgical unit and ICU in Seoul and Inchoen. The samples were composed of 63 new nurses who worked at 6 hospitals. The data were analyzed using a SPSS program for descriptive statistics(numbers of job performance, level of urgency, Index of importance(job performance + 1/4 level of urgency)). Some of the most frequent job performance were specimen collection, v/s check, diagnostic examination, identification of hypoglycemic or hyperglycemic symptoms, aseptic technique in medical unit, application of infection control, and IM, IV, PO medication supply of and electrolyte in surgical units. In ICU the orders were the maintenance of skin integration change, identification of abnormal v/s assessment of neurologic changes, patient, observation of hydration status, and aseptic technique. That the highest degree of urgency were CPR and defibrillation for dysrrhythmia in three units. The highest index of importance were the maintenance and improvement of physiologic integration, Some of safety and effective nursing environment, psychologic and social care, and health maintenance and promotion in three units.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to development and measure validity and reliability of evaluation tool for clinical nursing practice competency of Nursing students. Method: The participants in this study were 568 nurses who had worked for more than three years above in hospitals. A questionnaire of 79 items was administered to the nurses using a convenience sampling method. The data were collected from Sep. 12th, to Oct. 20th, 2004. Result: The derived outcome tool consisted of 6 factors of direct nursing actions and 6 factors of indirect nursing actions on the basis of 79 items. The 6 factors in direct nursing actions accounted for 76.84% of the variance and 6 factors in indirect nursing actions accounted for 79.68% of the variance on total scale. As a result of the item analysis, 79 items were selected and the internal consistency alpha coefficient was .9917. The value of Cronbach' alpha of direct nursing actions was .9640, indirect nursing actions was .9550. Conclusion: The results of this study show that useful application to the evaluation tool of clinical practice competency of Nursing students and further studies need to be done to verify clinical practice educational evaluation.
간호학생이 지각한 수간호사의 리더쉽과 임상실습 만족도와의 관계 연구

This study attempted to improve nursing student's clinical practice through analyzing the relationship between head nurse's leadership perceived by student and student's satisfaction in clinical nursing practice. Study subjects are 402 sophomore and Junior nursing students of two Junior Nursing Colleges. Data collection took place from September 5th in 1994 to September 15th in 1994. Collected data was analyzed by study objectives by using statistical test of T-test, Anova, Multiple regression and the study results are follows. 1.Student's total satisfaction score of clinical practice was low as a mean score of 2.73. Satisfaction orders: Time(2.88), Content(2.86), Environment(2.74) and Instruction(2.36). 2. Of the 29 total items of clinical practice satisfaction, category of content in which item of "clinical practice give new experiences followed learning of class lecture" showed the most high score (3.40) and item of "clinical practice repeats simple technical work "showed the most low score(2.08). 3. The analysis of factors which influence clinical practice showed no significant relationship(P>0.005) among the factors of school grade, religion, value of nursing occupation. However following items such as content and scope of clinical practice, relationship of co-student, patient recognition of nursing student, society recognition of nursing action showed statistically significant relationships(P<0.005). 4. The relationship between head nurse's leadership and clinical practice satis faction showed significant correlation (Pearson's R=.393,P=.000). The relationship between head nurse's person oriented leadership and clinical practice instruction showed significant correlation(r=.560,P=.000).but clinical practice hours(r=.258), content(r=.248),environment(r=.183) and evaluation(r=.164)showed weak correlation. 5. Head nurse's person oriented leadership showed more satisfaction of clinical practice than task oriented leadership. 6. The variables which influence clinical practice satisfaction explained following orders by the stepwise multiple regression : content and scope of clinical practice(16.48%), head nurse's person oriented leadership(27.51%), patient recognition of nursing student(31.30%), practical work(33.31%)(p<0.05).
