실리콘 마이크로스피어를 이용한 LED 광학 특성 변화에 관한 연구

본 연구에서는 조명용 백색LED의 지향각에 따른 색온도 균일성을 향상하기 위해 LED 용봉지재에 실리콘 마이크로스피어를 첨가하여 LED 광원을 제작하였다. 형광체를 혼합하지 않은 경우, 지향각은 실리콘 마이크로스피어 첨가비율을 0w t%에서 1 wt%까지 증가에 따라 97.5°에서 109°까지 증가하였으며, 형광체와 11㎛ 실리콘 마이크로스피어는 첨가비율에 상관없이 지향각 109°를 유지하였다. 실리콘 마이크로스피어의 첨가비율 1 wt%일 때 Photometry ratio는 2% 감소하였지만, 지향각에 따른색 균일성(Color Uniformity)평가 결과 0w t%일때 Δ색온도 775K에서 1 wt%일때 Δ색온도 615K로 감소함에 따라 26%의 개선효과를 보였다.

The successful clinical application of prosthetic biomaterials for reconstruction of defective jaws is accomplished by the favorable biocompatibility as well as the physical properties of materials. This study was undertaken to compare and to examine the biological effects of Ticonium, Stainless steel, and Acrylic resin which are the currently used prosthetic biomaterials in oral surgery field for reconstruction of the jaws. The materials as mentioned above were implanted in the mandible of the 10 healthy and white New Zealand albino rabbits. Specimens were obtained serially at 1 week interval during 5weeks, compared and examined histopathologically with microscope. The results of this study were as follows : 1. Inflammatory findings showed only in the 1st week in all experimental groups. For this, the implant materials in the rabbits had better tissue acceptance. 2. The formation of new osseous tissues by the proliferation of osteoblasts was seen at the first week in all experimental groups. (especially in the Stainless Steel group). 3. All the implant materials were covered with connective tissue and osseous tissue wall, then seperated and showed traces of fibrosis in the second week. 4. Osteoclasts were found through the entire period, especially at the first week, in all experimental groups.
LED용 실리콘 봉지재의 경화방법이 신뢰성에 미치는 영향

Encapsulant curing in terms of convection oven leads to thermal induced stress due to nonuniform thermal conductivity in LED package. We have adopted infrared (IR) light for silicone curing in order to release the stress. The light uniformity irradiated on an encapsulant surface is confirmed to be uniform by optical simulation. Shear strength of die paste using IR compared to convection oven is increased 19.2% at the same curing time, which indicates curing time can be shortened. The indentation depth difference between center and edge of silicone encapsulant in terms of convection oven and IR are 14.8% and 3.4%, respectively. Curing by IR also shows 2.3% better radiant flux persistency rate of LED at $85^{\circ}C$ after 1,000 h reliability test compared to convection curing.

Chip on board type white light emitting diode on metal core printed circuit board with high thixotropy silicone is fabricated by vacuum printing encapsulation system. Encapsulant is chosen by taking into account experimental results from differential scanning calorimeter, shearing strength, and optical transmittance. We have observed that radiant flux and package efficacy are increased from 336 mW to 450 mW and from 11.9 lm/W to 36.2 lm/W as single dome diameter is varied from 2.2 mm to 2.8 mm, respectively. Double encapsulation structure with 2.8 mm of dome diameter shows further significant enhancement of radiant flux and package efficacy to 667 mW and 52.4 lm/W, which are 417 mW and 34.8 lm/W at single encapsulation structure, respectively.

본 연구에서는 LED 패키징 공정 중 Silicone 봉지재의 경화 방법이 패키지 신뢰성에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 기존 열 경화(Convection Cure) 방법과 가압 경화(Pressure Cure)방법을 이용하였다. 7020 size의 Lead Frame 패키지에 메틸계 실리콘과 페닐계 실리콘을 적용하여 고온(Ta=60℃, 86℃) 동작 신뢰성 실험을 통해 비교 분석하였다. 광속 유지율에 대한 신뢰성 평가 결과 가압 경화 방법이 메틸계 실리콘은 3.4%, 페닐계 실리콘은 8.9%의 광속 유지율이 향상되었다.
가압성형 방식을 사용한 렌즈 일체형 LED 패키지의 색온도 균일성 향상에 관한 연구

Optical characteristics including the view angle and color temperature uniformity of LED packages with an integrated lens fabricated by compression molding method are investigated according to lens shape, lens materials, and phosphor coating methods. Four types of lens shape are designed and their optical output power dependence on the refractive index of silicone encapsulant are evaluated. Also, spatial color temperature uniformities of packages fabricated with different phosphor coating methodsdirect coating on a chip vs. uniformly mixed with silicone encapsulant- are compared at various view angles. As the result, it is found that phosphor coating method is more effective on color temperature uniformity than lens shape. The maximum color temperature difference of a package with direct coating of phosphor on a chip is 1,340K according to the view angle at the color temperature of 5,000K, and that of a package with uniformly mixed phosphor is 250K, which indicates 1,090K improvement of color uniformity for the latter case.

LED용 봉지재의 경화 시간 단축을 위하여 VFM(Variable Frequency Microwave) 오븐을 적용하여 봉지재 경화 후 일반 오븐과 비교하였다. VFM 오븐을 이용하였을 때 일반 오븐과 비슷한 경향으로 Chip의 IV특성에 변화가 없었고, 전단 강도 확보가 가능해 봉지재의 물성구현도 가능 하였다. 경화 시간에 따른 경도 측정에서는 VFM 오븐으로 경화 시 일반 오븐보다 에너지가 효율적으로 전달되어 경화 속도가 더 빠른 것으로 나타났다.
