The constriction thermal resistance due to the floor supports in the Ondol floor heating system was investigated. The resistance has significant influence on the uniformity of floor surface temperature and heat flux through the floor. The heat flux decreased as much as $30\%$ for the geometry of the same channel and support areas.

Aerodynamic performance tests and flow measurement were carried out for several radial impellers of NACA 65-810 airfoil. The data base obtained are to be used for verifying the methods of flow analysis and CFD codes. The effects of numbers and span of blades on the performances, efficiency and impeller exit flow are investigated in the present study. The flow rate on the performance curve is proportional to the span of the blade for the same value of fan pressure rise. The magnitude of radial velocity component at the impeller exit gradually decreases from the hub to shroud side. The magnitude of tangential velocity component gradually increases from the hub to shroud side. The way of variations of velocity is the same at the diffuser exit, however, becomes more uniform. The pressure rise performance increases with blade number at the small flow coefficients, however, decreases with the number of blade at the large flow coefficients. This shows that flow guidance in important at the low flow rate and the friction becomes significant at the high flow rate.

Some sized centrifugal compressors were designed and their performance measured to investigate the effects of exit blade thickness, width and back swept angle. The impeller of larger blade thickness shows low pressure ratio compared with that of smaller ones. Backswept angle also have a large effect on the efficiency. Measured values of slip factor are quite different from the estimated values of the Wiesner-Busemann model and an increase in the flow late.

Aerodynamic performance of a cooling fan of driving motor was enhanced modifying the vane-shroud configuration. Performance of a target model was evaluated to obtain baseline data. The aerodynamic performance and sound pressure level were tested and measured with different numbers of vane of increased length. The tested models show high and stable performance and low values of specific noise level. The long vane-shroud structure induces more stable through flow and decreases the tip leakage flow, which contributes to the increases of performance and efficiency. The sound pressure level increases for the modified model, however, specific noise level decreases.

Performance tests of an airfoil fan and measurement of flow fields at the impeller exit are carried out to investigate the effects of the tip clearance between the rotor and inlet casing on the impeller performance. The impeller is twelve bladed of NACA 65-810 airfoils and tested with 3 different size of gap; 1, 2, 4mm. The relative decrease of pressure rising performance of the fan is 15 percent for the design flow rate when the gap size is 1 percent of the impeller diameter. The reduction of performance becomes large as the flow rate increases. The leakage flow through the clearance affects the through flow of the impeller, which results in decrease of the slip factor as well as the impeller efficiency. The data base obtained in the present study can be used for the design and flow analysis of the airfoil fans.

Thermodynamic method of pump performance measurement calculates pump efficiency and flowrate by measuring fluid temperature increase and pressure rise through the pump. The theory of this method is investigated and precise comparison experiment with classical hydraulic method was conducted to verify the accuracy. Classical hydraulic pump performance measurement results and Yatesmeter results based on the thermodynamic method showed good agreement in measured performance.

남북 간 교류 및 협력에 관하여 많은 연구와 논의들이 진행되고 있지만, 이러한 노력들은 현 재의 남북한이 처한 현실처럼 분쟁발생시 교류중단이라는 극한 상황에 치닫게 되면 한 순간 에 물거품이 되어 버릴지 모르는 치명적인 약점을 가지고 있다. 본고는 이러한 점에 착안하여 남북교류협력의 지속성에 논점을 맞추어 남북교류협력 방안에 대하여 고찰한다. 교류와 협력은 그 구체적 당사자 간의 신뢰 형성을 기반으로 하여야 하며 이를 구축하기 위해서 적지 않은 시간과 노력이 필요함은 당연하다. 그러나 오랜 신뢰형성과정 에도 불구하고 분쟁 발생시 조화로운 해결방안을 찾지 못하여 교류중단이라는 극단의 카드를 꺼내게 된다면 그 기반이 무너지는 것은 한 순간이며 그 결과 막대한 경제적 손해가 발생할 뿐 만 아니라 추후 교류 재개 시 그만큼의 또 다른 노력을 시작해야 하는 비효율성을 가져온다. 우선 이러한 문제점에 대한 해결방안을 검토하기 전에 기본적으로 선제되어야 할 분쟁 발생 전 남북교류협력 방안에 대하여 검토한다. 그 자체로서 지속가능성이 있는 교류협력방안이 전제되어 있어야 외적 요인으로 인한 지속성 차단 문제를 해결하기 위한 노력을 검토할 수 있기 때문이다. 이러한 논리를 바탕으로 정부차원, 민간차원 그리고 경제적, 인도적 차원으로 나누어 현재 남북교류협력의 현황을 알아보고 그 활성화 방안을 논의한다. 그 다음으로 이러한 논의를 통하여 검토된 구체적 방안들의 실효성을 지속적으로 유지시켜 나가기 위하여 그리고 이러한 노력의 궁극적 지향점인 통일을 목표로 한 남북의 지속가능한 교류협력을 이뤄내기 위하여, 교류협력 중단이라는 극단적 상황을 초래할 수 있는 분쟁을 해결하기 위한 방안을 실현가능성에 무게중심을 두고 모색한다. 이를 위해, 정부 간 분쟁해결 방안에 관해서는 ‘국제 중재’라는 국제분쟁해결 절차 적용에 관하여 논의한다. 그리고 민간 교류당사자의 분쟁에 관하여는 현재 남북상사분쟁해결절차합의 서를 기본 토대로 하여 상사분쟁을 중심으로 그 문제점과 해결방안을 검토하고 이를 비상사 분쟁에도 유추적용하는 방향으로 논의한다. 또한, 정부 간 분쟁 발생시 정부가 취하는 조치로 인하여 급작스런 교류 중단이 발생하는 경우, 민간 교류당사자가 입게 될 불측의 손해에 대하 여 민간 교류당사자를 보호할 수 있는 방안을 제안하여 민간의 남북교류협력 사업에 대한 관 심과 참여를 촉진할 수 있도록 한다. So far we have discussed and studied much about how to increase the Inter-Korean exchange and cooperation. But most of such discussions and measures could suddenly erupt like a bubble when inter-Korean relations or international situations are aggravated contrary to our expectations. This paper studies all the issues with focus on the sustainability of the inter-Korean relations. It is advisable that the inter-Korean exchange and cooperation should be based on mutual trust between North and South Korea. Of course, it would take long to establish and strengthen such base. In the process of long trust building efforts, we have seen from time to time insurmountable deadlock and no exchange at all because the North and the South have no effective alternatives. It was typical when the Cheon-an naval ship exploded and sank in the Yellow Sea. Without doubt, it costs too much time and energy to restore the previous relationship. Before we seek the solution, we need to understand current methods to cooperate each other. So we may suggest a better approach to it as a sustainable cooperation method. We will devide the method as two by two phases i.e., government-civil sector and economical-humanitarian way. And finally, we will focus on the solution to maintain the relationship and cooperation in an extreme situation. To this end, we will explore the international arbitration to settle the disputes between the North and the South Korean governments. Also we will review the current inter-Korean agreement to settle commercial disputes between the two Koreas, and a kind of analogy may apply to non-commercial disputes. Further, we will survey what we can do to make a breakthrough if there occurs a unforeseeable deadlock between the North and the South in the future.
