본 연구에서는 경제성이 있는 GFRP를 사용하여 국내지형과 기상조건에 적합한 소형 풍차날개를 제작하기 위한 효율적인 설계기법을 제시한다. Fig.1에 나타낸 바 와 같이 먼저 재료역학에 바탕을 두고 풍차날개의 기본구조를 결정하고 최종형상은 유 한요소해석을 통해 결정한다. Blades are one of the critical parts of the wind machine. This paper presents a design procedure for the blade of a 7m diameter horizontal axis wind turbine with the constraint conditions of stresses and fundamental frequency. This blade consists of glass/polyester woven fabric and unidirectional prepreg. It was firstly designed by the classical beam theory on the assumption that torque box sustains all external loads and the reliability of the blade was then inspected in the preliminary estimation by using FEM.

This paper presents the results of static crushing test that was conducted to characterize the energy absorption and collapse characteristics of composite box tubes. Fifteen specimens were fabricated with woven fabric prepreg using [0/90] glass/epoxy and were autoclave cured. Quasistatic compression test was performed on them. Collapse mode and energy absorption capacity vary significantly as a function of the thickness and length of a square side of composite box tube.

A personal computer equipped with high recording density capabilities will become critical for individual users in the upcoming multimedia era. The United States and Japan have established their own information storage research consortia, the National Storage Industry Consortium (NSIC-USA) and the Storage Research Consortium (SRC-Japan), in collaboration with governments, industries, and universities to expand their information technologies for the 21st century. In this paper, we present NSIC’s research trends as examples and suggest the necessity of establishing a similar research consortium in Korea.
