Vol.11 No.2

For the kinematic analysis of the effective Taekwondo kyurogi players Dwihuryo-chagi, the 3 dimensional data was collected of differently skilled subjects by the Qualisys Motion System and the following variables were calculated the range of motion of the center of gravity, performance time, range of motion of the ankle, knee and hip angle. The results are as follows; For an effective Dwihuryo-chagi the movement of the COG at the ready posture, the kicking leg from the take off position, based on the fast rotation, the supporting leg of the leaning back upper body, will reduce the performance time. The maximum flexion of the hip joint from the phase 1 and 2 of the kicking leg to the impact, has to be quick, the knee needs to be flexed as much as possible and then extended as quick as possible while at the hip joint the flexion and extension should be performed up until the point and after the point of impact. At the hip joint the upper leg needs to be extended with the lower leg part needs to flex, the supporting leg needs to be fully extended and the hip angle needs to be at a maximum for the effective Dwihuryo-chagi. So accordingly for the training of the Dwihuryo-chagi for the unskilled players they must practice the motion of the upperbody with the motion of the lower limbs as described above to increase to the centripetal force so as to have a higher probability of striking the target with more effectiveness, which will have a positive effect in competition.

Vol.0 No.50

The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the most commonly used attacking dollyeochagi and badachagi to provide coaching advice for an effective execution of the technique. The following are the results. 1. There was a significant difference for the hip angle at event 2. 2. There was a highly significant difference at event 2 for the knee angle. 3. There were no significant differences at any of the events for the ankle angle. 4. There were no significant differences at the trunk flexion/ extension angles during all phases. 5. There were significant differences of the kicking foot`s maximum ground reaction forces at the X and Y axis. 6. There were significant differences of the supporting foot`s maximum ground reaction forces at the X and Y axis. To summarize the above results for an effective kick performance, it requires the skilled coordination between the hip, knee, ankle and trunk while the overall pattern seems similar, the order of hip flexion followed by the knee flexion then the extension of the ankle joint is an important variable. According to the reaction law, it is also important for the kicking and supporting foot to push off the ground to enable the center of body to move forward quickly which helps to increase the accuracy of the impact characteristics.

Vol.21 No.4

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences between the muscle activity of the agonist muscles and kinematics during the attacking and defensive dollyochagi, 4 elite taekwondo players participated and through the understanding of these differences more scientific training principles may be provided. 1. There was highly significant differences for the kicking legs hip angle, knee angle at the moment of take off as well as there was a significant difference between the maximum knee flexion angle. 2. As for the muscle activity there were significant differences at lumbar erector spinae and gastrocnemius from the ready position to the take off of the kicking foot between the attacking and defensive dollyochagi. There was a significant difference between the rectus abdominis between the kicks from the take off to the maximum knee flexion angle. For the knee extension phase, from the maximum knee flexion angle to the knee extension (impact), there were significant differences at the rectus abdominis, rectus femoris, tibialis anterior and gastrocnemius.

Vol.20 No.3

The purpose of this study was to investigate the kinematic variables of an effective attack and defensive motion dollyochagi motion, which is one of the most popular kicks during competition gyorugi so as to be able to provide scientific background during training. 1. There was statistically significant differences at the event E2 for the hip angle. 2. There was highly statistically significant differences at the event E2 for the knee angle. 3. There were no significant differences during all the phases for the ankle angle. 4. There were no significant differences during all the phases for the trunk angle. According to the results from above, even though the motion requires very complicated coordination, in general the hip, knee, ankle and trunk angle were similar for the attacking dollyochagi and the defensive dollyochagi. The most important variable for the effective performance of the dollyochagi is the flexion of the hip, knee and ankle at the kicking foot’s takeoff which will help enable a more powerful quicker kick which is needed during competition.

Vol.18 No.3

The purpose of this research was to provide basic scientific information that can be used for the safety in the training of the momdollyo huryo chagi, To do this the analysis of GRF data from skilled and unskilled practitioners was performed. 3 national level Korean players and 3 unskilled players participated in this research. The t-test was done on the following variables were recorded; performance time. anteroposterior ground reaction force (GRF). mediolateral ground reaction force, vertical ground reaction force. peak ground reaction force Here are the results; For the performance time in phase 1 and 2 there was a significant time difference. while in phase 4 there was a statistically significant time difference. For the mediolateral GRF at event 1 there was a significant difference, and at event 5 there was a significant difference but for the anteroposterior GRF s there were no significant differences. At event 1 and 3 there was a significant difference in the vertical GRF. and there was a significant difference between the peak GRFs. The conclusions of the above results indicate that the supporting foot during the performance of the momdollyo huryo chagi is very important from the start to the finish of the technique. At the point of the kicking legs impact the hip must be maximally flexed which is highly influence by the vertical GRFs. Through this it can be known that for the effective performance of the momdollyo huryo chagi not the safety. the production of a higher vertical GRF is needed to increase the performance of the technique.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in the impact force from the dollyochagi for three different types(Poomsae, kyokpa and kyorugi) of taekwondo players. The total of 9 elite players weighing from 68 kg to 74kg participated in this experiment of each type of 3. Kinetics and kinematics were recorded by force platforms and motion capture system while the impact force of the kick was recorded by the electronic hogu. The following variables were analyzed; performance time, ankle, knee and hip angles and moments and impact force. To conclude the poomsae group were the most accurate, skilled and representative because of the training of blocking and defensive motions included however they had the lowest impact force which implies that they need to train this. With the characteristics of the kyokpa group being that of accuracy, high intensity the variables show that there was a high level of coordination between the lower limbs and at impact they had a high rotational power. It could be seen for the kyorugi group that they had a high speed with a powerful impact due to the high speed of internal hip rotation which is an important variable. Even though the various styles of taekwondo players poomsae, kyokpa and kyorugi train differently there is a high level of expertise to coordinate between the lower limbs which twisting the trunk and pushing their body forward to ensure a high impact force.
