CFD simulation is a tool very useful to predict the generation and absorption of the contaminant from the construction materials for the single room condition. However, there is a limit in multi-room simulation for analyzing air movement and contaminant concentration at the condition that the door of each room was closed. A lot of network simulation tool were developed which can used to analyze the mass transfer and contaminant concentration as results in the multi-room condition. However, existing network simulation method was not able to analyze the change of the heating and cooling load with the ventilation as though the change of the indoor air-pollution density was predictable. In this study, new approach to predict heating/cooling load and indoor contaminant concentration will be reviewed. New indoor contaminant concentration module reviewed in this study wad coupled with existing ESP-r network simulation method. The validity of new approach will be analysed for comparison the results of simulation and field measurement results.

In the energy efficient building project, the first priority is to consider the method to reduce building energy demand by increasing basic building performance. Airtightness is one way to improve basic building performance. If a certain level of airtightness is secured, planning and design flexibility of other sectors (lighting, high efficiency facilities, renewable energy, etc.) can be ensured. In other countries, airtightness is considered essential performance criterion for energy saving buildings and various projects are already in progress. However, in Korea, institutional basis of airtightness is weak, and there is a limit as to apply the oversea research because of most of the studies in other countries are for single-family homes. The purpose of this study is to establish a strategy for securing airtightness and analyze the effect of airtightness on building energy demand for high-rise apartment building which is representative housing type in Korea.

The purpose of this study is to propose a new cooling system that can improve the problems of conventional cooling systems such as constant and monotonous air-flow, lower temperature than the ambient conditions, and energy efficiency. To improve these drawbacks, this study focuses on the dynamic characteristics of natural wind and the use of these characteristics as a control strategy of indoor cooling systems. In this paper, based on the field measurements, the characteristics of natural wind fluctuation are analyzed by the Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) analysis. The correlations between natural wind and thermal sense of the human subject can be found by using the PSD analysis, and the relationships can be modeled as a slope of the low frequencies of the natural wind spectrum, β-value. It is expected that the proper selection of β-value can simulate a comfortable wind and will improve the energy efficiency of cooling systems.
열 쾌적성을 고려한 자연풍 재현 에어컨의 제어논리 개발에 관한 연구

The ultimate goal of these papers is to complement the shortcomings of conventional air-conditioning systems by using the air flow fluctuation characteristics of natural wind so as to achieve comfortable and energy-saving air conditioning control. Accordingly written the control mode that can plan the nature wind characteristic that analyzed a characteristic, and returned in triumph of the conventional air-conditioning system through laboratory measurement. Through the procedures above, the new control logic was investigated and complemented by subject experiments about air-conditioning system plan imitating natural wind. Finally, the methods to improve thermal-comfort according to the control logic of new air-conditioning system will be presented and thereby this will bring improvement in sustaining thermal-comfort of the indoor residents steadily as well a pleasant environment.
자연풍의 변동 특성을 이용한 쾌적 공조시스템에 관한 연구

Recently the demand for cooling is rapidly increasing in Korea due to climate change resulting from global environmental changes and the residential culture centered on apartment houses. Furthermore, there is a concern for increasing energy consumption due to the quickly rising demands for comfortableness of air conditioning with the increasing expectations on quality of life of occupants in rooms. The existing air conditioning system can not satisfied the human thermal need as compared to the natural breeze in country side where located near mountains and river side. What is short in air conditioning? The natural wind fluctuates all the time in all directions and we can not recognize its behaviors. If the fluctuation characteristics of natural wind would be generated with existing cooling system, it could be a comfortable wind for us. In this study, the characteristics of natural wind will be analyzed through chaotic analyzing methods and will be compared to the mechanical wind. In this paper, the field measurement for natural wind which accomplished at near mountain in summer will be reported. Moreover the characteristics of mechanical wind will be analyze through laboratory experiment. If fluctuation of air flow would be generated by a chaotic theory, it could be a comfortable wind for us.
인공태양실험실(A. S. Lab.)을 활용한 창호의 열성능 평가에 관한 연구

Recently residential buildings are characterized with high-rise and high density. Under this circumstance, achieving comfortable and healthy indoor environment with minimized energy consumption becomes a very challenging engineering and societal issue. Along this the increased size and transparency of window as well as light surface caused by high stories lowers the heat shield efficiency of building. Since glass that constitutes building surface has low heat efficiency, it aggravates heat loss of all building considerably, thereby resulting in extreme heating load and cooling load in the country where temperature varies much in summer and winter. The research will check whether experiment can be effectively done by overcoming the limit of existing artificial solar laboratory constructed in the country and properly adjusting controlled variables with simplified function through construction of this experimental set.
카오스 분석을 통한 자연풍과 인공풍의 기류특성에 관한 연구
