Near the end of Myung Dynasty in China there was a drive toward reorganization of Choson poems written in Chinese characters. Amongest these collections, <Collection of Choson Poems> edited by Oh, Myung Jae was the most influential. This collection was thought to be lost as it was not passed on to the future generations. But, recently, in Beijing Library it was found in its original form and in good conditions. <Collection of Choson Poems> which came out in 1600 is a collection of Choson poems and not poems of Myung Dynasty. Reorganizatioon and editing procedures for it is explained in <Preface to Script of Collection of Choson Poems>, <Preface to Collection of Choson Poems>, and <Collection of late-Choson Poems>. In the overall production of the book, Huh, Kyoon, novelist and poet of Choson era, played a crucial role. Looking at the content of <Ancient Poems of Choson>, it can be said to be the collection of the most comprehensive listing of ancient poems. Selected Shila poems in this work also serve an important role in the study of the history of Shila literature. <Collection of Choson Poems> is thought to be a valuable original source for a study into Huh, Kyoon`s poetry and calligraphy. It also highly praises female poet, Huh, Ransulhyeon, and as such it is significant for it is the first formal appearance of "female literature in Choson Dynasty". There were few other collections of Choson poems near the end of Myung Dynasty in addition to <Collection of Choson Poems> but they were either incomplete works or lost over the years. <Collection of Choson Poems> provided impetus for themes for <Yeoljo Shijip> and <Myungsi-jong> which were works of poets of Chung Dynasty. These two collections, on the other hand, raised the profile of <Collection of Choson Poems>. Recently found <Haedong Shison> is a book Hong, Dae Yong, scholar during Choson Dynasty, reorganized and edited, upon a request from his Chinese colleague, with the help of Min, baek Soon. This collection can be seen as a continuation of Oh, Myung Jae`s <Collection of Choson Poems> and in addition it holds special significance in the history of Sino-Korean cultural exchange.
