Amorphous silica produced from low grade bentonite B₁by acid treatment was used for zeolite synthesis. The zeolite 4A was used for detergent-use. The results are summerized as follows. (1) When the condition of water hardness was 40℉h, water temperature was 30℃ and the stirring rate of water was 200rpm. the cation(Ca) exchange capacity of synthetic zeolite was observed as 307㎎ CaCO₃/ g zeolite for fifteen minutes. The amount of Ca ion exchanged by zeolite was more than 95 percent within three minutes. (2) The brightness of the synthetic zeolite was between 91 and 93. The median particle size of the synthetic zeolite was 3.0㎛. (3) In differential thermal analysis, the dehydration of the synthetic zeolite was detected between 35℃ and 500℃, lattice transformation take place at about 800℃. In thermal gravimetric analysis, the weight loss of the snythetic zeolite was 20.94 percent by dehydration between 33℃ and 511℃.

The designs of cosmetics containers has become different abruptly since the beginning of 1970. Now it becomes a fundamental object of the research in view point of satisfying consumers option along with the existing circumstances of the times. Cosmetics is not only a kind of goods but necessaries of 'our daily life, which create a beauty to the consumers and help them with skin beauty and also leads time of individuality. It is deepening to compete to develope a new material cosmetics in accordance with the requirements of new products for the skin-care depending upon cognitive alternation of consumers at the recent. The trend of the design of cosmetics containers is being changed styles into the tendency of following mostly advanced and conceptive imagination. Accordingly the purpose of this research is considered to be based on the creation of a fresh and innovatory cosmetics containers to meet the trend of rapid changeable designs with the current of times by analyzing recent consumers options, accurate market research, analysis of image map and by investigation of consumers' questionaire.

The hike of appliance development since 1950s has driven the ever extremed variety of design styles. Every style co-exists under the name of functional modernism, post modernim and ecological design in fashion or in trend. In this circumstance, designers are desperately searching the essentials in design objectives, processes and methods, because 'the best selection in the widest varieties' is still unchanged motto in design and marketing efforts. If we draw design activity to shape the product styles in more specific, we could list the intuitive and experimental approaches in one hand and the quantitative and rational in other side. The value of 'Sensitivity' in product form is derived from the realm of 'meaning' which is more metaphysical and a broad sense. The contents of meaning come from searching the metaphysical image, the ecological type and the aesthetical style of product forms. While, the importance of Use-Interface design has been increasingly recognized as product changed into intelligent tool which emphasizes on cognitive aspects rather than physiological aspects. However, researches on user-interface design in Industrial Design is still on beginning stage, which requires clear understanding and the development of relevant methodologies for it's practical application for designing products. This study aims to establish the conceptual frame work of user-interface design through analyzing various theories and issues on user-interface design. At first, the backgrounds of the development of user-interface design are discussed and user-interface design is defined. It is followed by surverying the general models of user-interface design process. Based on such context, this study is accomplished with the generation of form concepts and elements related to sensitivity and also the development of a new method for approaching to the value of sensitivity and meaning in design morphology.

A new wastewater treatment scheme using the natural purification capacity of soil ecosystem has been applied to deal with a daily volume of 15m² demestic wastewater produced by 300 peoples. The treatment facilities were installed at the public toilet of the Donghak Temple, located in the city of the Kongju, Korea. This treatment composed mainly of anaerobic septic tanks covered with a soil layer and trenches. As a primary treatment, anaerobic septic tanks consist of two settling tanks(8m²), a contact tank(11m²km and a final filter tank(2.5m²). The secondary treatment of soil trenches operated with an area of 27m². The trench was 50 cm wide and a total of 160 meters long. The result of this treatment have revealed that BOD and SS removal efficiencies were 98% and 92%, respectively. And phosphorus removal was marvelously shown to be over 98%.

Catalytic action of vanadium pentoxide and promotive action of bismuth trioxide on vanadium pentoxide for oxidation reactions were investigated from structural point of view. Importance of V=0 bond in vanadium pentoxide catalyst was emphasized on basis of Infrared absorption. The follow results were obtained; 1) Vanadium pentoxide showed an infrared spectrum with sharp absorption peak at 10-30cm??. It was confirmed that this peak is due to stretching-vibration of V=0 bond of vanadium pentoxide. It was thought that V=0 bond of vanadium pentoxide acts as active center. 2) It was confirmed that bismuth trioxide enhanced the activity of vanadium pentoxide catalyst.
Synthesis of BiVO<sub>4</sub> nanocrystals using microwave process and their photocatalytic activity

An efficient microwave-assisted synthesis of BiVO<sub>4</sub> nanocrystals, using bismuth nitrate pentahydrate (Bi(NO<sub>3</sub>)<sub>3.5</sub>H<sub>2</sub>O) and sodium orthovanadate (Na<sub>3</sub>VO<sub>4</sub>) as the starting precursors, ethanol and water as the solvent, together with postassium oleate as the additive reagents, has been developed. The mixed solution was treated in the microwave with an irradiation power at 300, 600 and 900 Watt for 5, 10, 20 and 30 min, respectively. The physical and photophysical properties of the samples were characterized by TG/DTA, XRD, Raman, PL, TEM and DRS. We also investigated the photocatalytic activity of these materials for the decomposition of rhodamine B under visible light irradiation.
