We propose a method for an indoor mobile robot to track user with infrared transmitter. Several infrared receivers attached around by the mobile robot enable the robot to determine the moving direction by comparing the received signal patterns. The cost of the proposed system is not only cheaper than ultrasonic system, image signal processing, RFID, and RSSI method, but also robust against environment change because any complex algorithm is not necessary. In the mobile robot, ultrasonic sensors are equipped to avoid obstacles located in the moving direction, and a simple algorithm is embedded to avoid the case of poor signal reception.

본 연구는 정상 상태의 유동에서 Rayleigh 산란을 이용하여 연료의 농도를 측정하는 방법에 대해 것이다. 실험 장치는 연료의 농도 변화를 시간적, 공간적으로 측정함과 동시에 정확한 농도 측정을 위한 보정도 가능하도록 구성하였다. 실험 장치를 우선 보정 용기에 적용하여 프로판, 부탄, 아세틸렌, 프레온 가스의 산란단면적을 구하였다. 이후 내연기관을 상사한 실린더 헤드, 인젝터, 흡기매니폴드, 투명 실린더로 구성된 정상유동 장치를 구성하여 분사된 연료의 시간적, 공간적 농도 변화를 측정하였다. Mie산란의 간섭을 제거하기 위하여, 산란 신호의 상승 기간과 증배관-앰프의 시정수에 바탕을 둔 소프트웨어 필터를 개발하여 적용하였다. 실험 결과 LRS는 연료 농도 계측에 매우 유용하게 이용될 수 있고 소트프웨어 필터는 Mie 간섭을 효과적으로 제거할 수 있음을 확인하였다. In this study, a system to measure continuously the fuel concentration in a steady flow rig on the basis of Rayleigh scattering is presented. The system can be employed to measure both the temporal and the spatial distribution. Also, it is possible to calibrate the system for the measurement of accurate absolute concentration. Firstly, the system was tested at a calibration chamber for the determination of scattering cross section from propane, butane, acetylene, Freon-12 and Genetron 143a. After this, the system was adapted to a steady flow rig to measure the temporal and spatial fuel concentration. The rig is composed of cylinder head, intake manifold, injector, and transparent cylinder which can simulate internal combustion engine. To cope with the problem of Mie scattering interference, a software filter was developed, which is based on the rise time and the time constant of the photomultiplier-amplifier system. The results show that LRS can provide useful informations about concentration field and the software filter is very effective method to remove Mie interference.

To securing basic data for intake port design, effects of a port masking on the part load performance were investigated in a 4 valve SI engine. For this purpose, 9 kinds of masking, which have different shapes and masking ratio, are applied to the engine intake system. The characteristics of the performance were estimated through mixture response test at various engine load and speed. The results show that NOx emission, one of indexes for stratification, increases considerably in spite of retarded spark timing due to the stratification which is caused by unequal flow distribution between the two intake ports. The mechanism of stratification by masking is different from axial stratification and the fuel entering through masked port plays a very important role in this stratification process. In conclusion, the port masking method could be easily applied to engine intake system and be very effective for inducing the stratified charging without the change of port design.
정적 연소실에서 토치 점화 장치의 체적 변화에 따른 LFG의 연소 특성

Landfill gas mainly involves CH₄, so it can have a great advantage as a commercial fuel. However, Landfill gas also involves CO₂, O₂ and N₂. The CO₂ gas in landfill gas interfere with initial flame development and flame propagation. For evaluating the effect of torch- ignition on initial flame development, three different type of torch-ignition device were applied in a constant volume combustion chamber. The three type of torch-ignition device have a different volume and same size of orifice diameter. The combustion pressure were measured to analyze for combustion enhancement.
