This paper presents a mechanical tuning method for multi-spindle control of NC machine tools. To reduce the profile error in the feed drive system, it is useful to adopt same transfer function of multi-spindle machine tools. By selecting the correction vector of servo rigidity and natural vibration on JK map, multi-spindle control can be tuned by the mechanical parameters.

This paper present a proposed mechanical tuning of feed drive system with JK map in NC machine tools. For stable control of feed drive system with closed loop control, these 3 method are useful, 1)elevating rigidity of drive system, 2) high damping coefficient, 3) reducing inertia of rotating materials.

This paper present the renovation of dynamic characteristic of feed drive system by using magnetic damper. By attatching magnetic fluid damper on ball screw, feeding drive system can be renovated on the damping coefficient and position amplification gain margins. It can adopt 28-52% higher position amplification gain as maintain same gain margin.

This paper present a new modeling and natural frequency of feeding drive system in machining center to evaluate statistic characteristics especially static rigidities. Rigidities and natural frequency of feeding drive system of medium and heavy machining center are analized as lst degree and natural frequency and rigdities can be calculated by computer. Natural frequencies are proportioned to disstance between two ball bearing and inverse proportioned to root of distance between bearing by mass of feeding drive system. Natural frequency of double anchor type M/C become about twice that of single anchor type M/C.

This paper presents a checking method of errors of feed mechanism is assmebly tuning with DAC method. It is useful to check static and dynamic rigidity with relation between lost motions and currents of rotors. For checking error of feed in ssembly tuning with machining center proposed checking algorithm is useful.

This study was carried out to investigate the drill cuttingability of Compact Vermicular graphite cast iron. Materials used were CV cast iron, grey cast iron and nadular cast iron. Cutting resistance generated in drilling was detected with aids of tool dynamometer. After through study of interrelationship, obtained results are as follows. 1) Cutting force is varied with hardness of materials. 2) Cutting force is varied with depth of holes. 3) Cutting force of torpue and thrust are increased with the increase in feed.
