Research on occupational stress for medical institution workers has been mainly conducted in fields such as medical management and nursing. However, there is a lack of research on medical institution workers in the field of sociology. Therefore, this study aims to verify the mediating effect of anxiety in the relationship between their self-efficacy and job stress in doctors and nurses working at two hospitals in Yangju, Jiangso Province, China. To this end, a survey was conducted on self-efficacy, job stress, and anxiety of workers at Chinese medical institutions, and the survey was conducted from September to November 2021, and a total of 650 questionnaires were distributed to recover 580 copies, and there are a total of 563 valid ones. The results of analyzing the collected data through the SPSS 22.0 statistical program are as follows. First, it was confirmed that in the demographic and sociological characteristics of the study subjects, self-efficacy, anxiety, and job stress according to age and job type all showed statistically significant differences. Second, it was confirmed that there was a high correlation between self-efficacy, anxiety, and job stress of the study subjects. Third, it was confirmed that self-efficacy affected job stress, that is, the higher the self-efficacy of Chinese medical institution workers, the lower the job stress. Fourth, it was verified that anxiety had a mediating effect between the subject's self-efficacy and job stress. Through this, in order to alleviate the job stress of workers at Chinese medical institutions, the hospital proposed providing opportunities for doctors to exchange academics and providing necessary psychological involvement and treatment to medical personnel on time. Therefore, starting from a sociological perspective, this study is meaningful to provide useful basic data to alleviate job stress of workers in Chinese medical institutions.
