        So far the consumption of milk in Korea has been drastically increased by the virtue of economic development. However, after the emergent economic system controlled by the IMF milk consumption has rapidly been decreased, and milk surplus has been accumulated. Because of this dairy farmers in Korea are suffering from a great deal of difficulties. In such a circumstance, it was suspicious how milk consumers would evaluate the milk as a food, why milk consumption was so rapidly decreased, or how the consumption of milk would be in the future. To provide the answers for these questions is the aim of this paper. By the survey of the milk consumers more than 60% of the respondents answered that they preferred to drink milk, but nearly 70% of them complained about the high price of milk, and more than 90% of them expressed that they would consume milk as usual or more. However, the adjustment coefficient of the long-term demand function of milk was computed to be 0.991, which is near to 1. Therefore it is predicted that milk consumption would be affected rather sensitively by the exogenious variables such as price of milk or income of consumers than by the habitual attitude of the consumers. In these context it would be recommended to be more cautious in increasing the selling price of milk. Such serious depression in milk consumption would be more natural in the economic depression such as IMF financial support system. This also means that when the economy is vitalized, the milk consumption would be more rapidly recovered.

        Since the economic system of capitalism is a society established on the basis of efficiency and competition, the class of people either inefficient or falling behind in competition will gradually weed out. Such principles of the market economy will apply, without exception, to the basic nucleus of the distribution system of the agricultural products, and it is evident that the agricultural products wholesale market companies being managed comparatively inefficiently run the risk of weeding out by themselves. At this point of time when the distribution system of agricultural products becomes diversified and large-sized, and differentiated, the relatively inefficients elements of the agricultural products wholesale market companies may most probably endanger the wholesale market companies, the nucleus of the agricultural products distribution system. The producers and intermediary wholesalers being the main customers of the wholesale market companies, the problems resulting from the conflicts of interest between them are very difficult to compromise and it takes a great deal of efforts and time to satisfy the needs of the producers and the intermediary wholesalers. Nevertheless, it is the hard realities that amid such difficulties, the agricultural products wholesale market companies can not neglect to meet the desires of their main customers, the producers and intermediary wholesalers. Since, however, the wholesale market companies are business entities themselves, it is also evident that they will eventually weed out, if they go against the trend of the times wherein all business entities should pursue "customer emotion" beyond "customer satisfaction". It would, therefore, be very opportune to gauge how the producers and intermediary wholesalers, the two main customers of the wholesale market companies evaluate the use of the wholesale market companies, and how satisfied they are with the services offered by the wholesale market companies. At the same time, such research seems to provide the useful basic materials to establish the survival strategies of the wholesale market companies. The examination of the evaluation, by the producers and intermediary wholesalers, the two main customers of the wholesale market companies, of the use of the wholesale market companies shows that both the producers and the intermediary wholesalers have favorably evaluated the items on (1) improvement of the order of business transactions, (2) rationalization of the level of the market rates such as the commission for sale on consignment, loading and unloading charges and bounties (3) impartiality of auctions, (4) level of satisfaction with reliability and diversity of the information of business transactions, (5) efforts of the employees of the wholesale market companies for collection and sales of the goods and (6) level of satisfaction with the services offered by the employees of the wholesale market companies to main customers. At the same time, when asked whether the use of the wholesale market companies improved their business revenues, the producers (25.0%) and intermediary wholesalers (30.0%) evaluated negatively. Such negative results may very likely lead to threatening factors hampering the growth and development of the wholesale market companies. The above negative results may be even more conspicuous especially under the circumstances where the agricultural products distribution system gets diverse and large-sized and differentiated through revitalization of direct transactions between the producers and large-scale discount marts and the competitions among the companies engaged in the same category of industry are very keen. From the viewpoint of the survival strategy of the wholesale market companies, approaches should be so made as the efforts to improve on the earnings of the producers and wholesale market companies may precede. In the evaluation of the payment methods, most of the producers (90.0%) were affirmative, while intermediary wholesalers were negative (35.0%). However, in consideration of the characteristics of the wholesale market companies having the producers and intermediary wholesalers as their customers, it seems that the methods and procedures for the payments should be improved by all means. In particular, if the wholesale market companies should approach this matter from WIN-WIN strategy, it seems that this matter might be resolved more easily. The changes in the environments faced in management activities of enterprises are quickening and at the same time, the growth or weeding out of enterprises is also quickly determined. Amid such changes, the gauging and satisfying of enterprise desires as the survival strategy must be definitely an extremely important element. The wholesale market company being an business entity itself, should be keen to such changes, and needs to make strategic approaches to its customers, if it does not want to weed out amid such changes.

        무자격 조합원 문제에 관한 농협 조합장의 인식

        이 논문은 농협 조합장의 조합원 자격문제에 대한 인식을 조사하여 그 결과를 제시하는 동시에 조합원 자격문제 개선을 위한 조합장의 의사결정 행태를 분석·유형화 하는데 이 연구의 목적을 두었다. 무자격 조합원(①사망, ②이주, ③파산, ④자격상실, ⑤기타 사유 등) 정리에 대한 조합장의 인식을 조사한 바, 설문에 응한 조합장의 56.0%가 중요성을 인식하고 있는 것으로 조사되었고, 조합원자격문제로 가장 우려되는 상황으로 ①응답 조합장의 29.5%가 “조합사업은 이용하지 않으면서 혜택만 누리는 문제(무임승차)와 ②협동조합의 정체성 하락(18.6%), ③이용실적이 많은 조합원과 적은 조합원의 갈등과 대립 심화(17.0%)의 순으로 우려하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 조합원 자격문제 해결을 위해 가장 시급한 과제로 응답 조합장의 30.9%가 “무자격 조합원에 대한 정기적인 실태조사 및 재정비”라고 가장 많은 응답을 하였다. This paper aims to investigate the awareness of the qualification issue of members of regional agricultural cooperatives; this paper also aims to analyze and classify the decision-making behaviors of presidents of regional agricultural cooperatives for improving the qualification issue for members. In accordance with the investigation of the awareness of presidents on the definition on unqualified members, 50.6% of the presidents participating in the questionnaires were aware of the importance of the qualification of members. The most serious concern related to the qualification of members among the presidents was “unqualified members getting only the benefits without using the businesses by regional agricultural cooperatives”, which was selected by 29.5% of the respondents.
