The purpose of this study is to investigate Lee Deuk Moo(李德懋)'s treatise on education of humanity based on his book 《Sasochul(士小節)》, who was a Confucian scholar in Chosun Dynasty. He examined children education of humanity with three different viewpoints, which are treatise on education of humanity in society, treatise on education of humanity at school. The results of this study are as follows. 1.First of all, it was proved that Lee Deuk Moo's viewpoint of humanity was interrelated to Neo-Confucianist's general viewpoint of humanity. According to Neo-Confucianist's, human nature can be divided as nature of 'Ben-Ran(本然之性)' and nature of 'Qi-Zhi()'. While nature of Ben-Ran is people's common element, Qi-Zhi is personal element. In Confucianism, the treatise on education of humanity emphasizes to preserve nature of Ben-Ran, a common personality from the heaven, by regulating each person's desires. 2.He highlighted mother's role in the education of humanity at home According to the him, every mother need to take a prudent attitude from prenatal education. Each mother also should take care of her children everyday life when they are infants. He underlined parent's strict education of children's habit and propriety instead of blind love. 3.He also emphasized educational environment in the education of humanity in society. For example, parents let their children play with a good-natured person to protect their children from undesired educational environment. 4.He stressed relationship between teacher and students for the education of humanity at school. He thought the education of humanity could be done by studying poetry, propriety, and course work. He also emphasized the education of humanity by considering ability, disposition, human developmental characteristics.
