Solidification of uranium tailings using alkali-activated slag mixed with natural zeolite

        Wang Fulin,Zhou Min,Chen Cheng,Yuan Zhengping,Geng Xinyang,Yang Shijiao 한국원자력학회 2023 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.55 No.2

Cemented uranium tailings backfill created from alkali-activated slag (CUTB) is an effective method of disposing of uranium tailings. Using some environmental functional minerals with ion exchange, adsorption, and solidification abilities as backfill modified materials may improve the leaching resistance of the CUTB. Natural zeolite, which has good ion exchange and adsorption characteristics, is selected as the backfill modified material, and it is added to the backfill materials with cementitious material proportions of 4%, 8%, 12%, and 16% to prepare CUTB mixtures with environmental functional minerals. After the addition of natural zeolite, the uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) of the CUTB decreases, but the leaching resistance of the CUTB increases. When the natural zeolite content is 12%, the UCS reaches the minimum value of 8.95 MPa, and the concentration of uranium in the leaching solution is 0.28e8.07 mg/L, the leaching rate R42 is 9.61 107 cm/d, and cumulative leaching fraction P42 is 8.53 104 cm, which shows that the alkali-activated slag cementitious material has a good curing effect on the CUTB, and the addition of environmental functional minerals helps to further improve the leaching resistance of the CUTB, but it reduces the UCS to an extent.

      • Memetic Two-echelon Vehicle Routing Optimization Based on Q Learning Theory and Differential Evolution Algorithm

        Liu Dongdong,Liu Kai,Wang Feng,Han Bo,Zhao Zhengping,Tan Fuxiao,Niu Lei 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.9 No.8

In allusion to such problems as low accuracy and long convergence time in traditional two-echelon vehicle routing optimization algorithm, a Memetic algorithm (QDEMA) based on Q learning theory and differential evolution is proposed in this article to solve above problems. Firstly, it is necessary to research the two-echelon vehicle routing optimization problem and adopt the optimal segmentation method to obtain the relatively reasonable distribution plan for the first-echelon SDVRP problem in order to accordingly determine the distribution quantity of the transfer stations; secondly, the second-echelon MDVRP distribution scheme is solved to obtain the total distance and the total number of the distribution vehicles for the two-echelon optimization problem; thirdly, in allusion to the solution of the second-echelon MDVRP distribution scheme, Q learning theory and the differential evaluation algorithm are adopted to design new Memetic algorithm in order to globally optimize MDVRP distribution scheme; finally, the simulation experiment is carried out to verify the algorithm effectiveness.

Association Between Metabolic Risk Factors and Cognitive Impairment in Schizophrenia Based on Sex

        Hongna Huang,Lizhao Du,Zhengping Pu,Yuan Shi,Zifan Xiao,Xi Chen,Shun Yao,Lijun Wang,Zezhi Li,Ting Xue,Donghong Cui 대한신경정신의학회 2023 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.20 No.10

Objective Sex differences have been observed in many aspects of schizophrenia, including cognitive deficits. Despite extensive research into the relationship between metabolic factors and cognitive deficits in schizophrenia, few studies have explored the potential sex difference in their association. Methods We recruited 358 schizophrenia patients and 231 healthy controls. The participants underwent measurements of body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, blood pressure, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and fasting blood glucose. Metabolic risk factors included abdominal obesity, hypertension, hyperglycemia, and dyslipidemia. A collection of these metabolic risk factors has been defined as metabolic syndrome. These diagnoses were based on the criteria of the National Cholesterol Education Program’s Adult Treatment Panel III. Cognitive performance was measured using the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS). A descriptive analysis, difference analysis, and linear regression model were used to identify the metabolic risk factors for cognitive function in schizophrenia. Results Our findings revealed sex differences in the rate of abdominal obesity and hypertension in schizophrenic patients. Additionally, we observed sex differences in the association between metabolic risk factors and cognitive impairment in schizophrenia. Specifically, hyperglycemia was associated with the immediate memory index score of RBANS in male patients, while dyslipidemia was associated with language, attention, delayed memory index scores, and RBANS total score in female patients. Conclusion Our results suggest that sex should be considered when evaluating the impact of metabolic disorders on the cognitive function of schizophrenic patients. Moreover, our study identifies hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia as potential targets for precise treatment by sex stratification, which could benefit the improvement of cognitive impairment in schizophrenic patients.

Bioprospecting of Novel and Bioactive Metabolites from Endophytic Fungi Isolated from Rubber Tree Ficus elastica Leaves

( Zhuang Ding ),( Tao Tao ),( Lili Wang ),( Yanna Zhao ),( Huiming Huang ),( Demeng Zhang ),( Min Liu ),( Zhengping Wang ),( Jun Han ) 한국미생물생명공학회(구 한국산업미생물학회) 2019 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.29 No.5

Endophytic fungi are an important component of plant microbiota, and have the excellent capacity for producing a broad variety of bioactive metabolites. These bioactive metabolites not only affect the survival of the host plant, but also provide valuable lead compounds for novel drug discovery. In this study, forty-two endophytic filamentous fungi were isolated from Ficus elastica leaves, and further identified as seven individual taxa by ITS-rDNA sequencing. The antimicrobial activity of these endophytic fungi was evaluated against five pathogenic microorganisms. Two strains, Fes1711 (Penicillium funiculosum) and Fes1712 (Trichoderma harzianum), displayed broad-spectrum bioactivities. Our following study emphasizes the isolation, identification and bioactivity testing of chemical metabolites produced by T. harzianum Fes1712. Two new isocoumarin derivatives (1 and 2), together with three known compounds (3-5) were isolated, and their structures were elucidated using NMR and MS. Compounds 1 and 2 exhibited inhibitory activity against Escherichia coli. Our findings reveal that endophytic fungi from the rubber tree F. elastica leaves exhibit unique characteristics and are potential producers of novel natural bioactive products.
