        The Practice Guideline for Vaccinating Korean Patients With Autoimmune Inflammatory Rheumatic Disease

        To develop a clinical practice guideline for vaccination in patients with autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic disease (AIIRD), the Korean College of Rheumatology and the Korean Society of Infectious Diseases developed a clinical practice guideline according to the clinical practice guideline development manual. Since vaccination is unlikely to cause AIIRD or worsen disease activities, required vaccinations are recommended. Once patients are diagnosed with AIIRD, treatment strategies should be established and, at the same time, monitor their vaccination history. It is recommended to administer vaccines when the disease enters the stabilized stage. Administering live attenuated vaccines in patients with AIIRD who are taking immunosuppressants should be avoided. Vaccination should be considered in patients with AIIRD, prior to initiating immunosuppressants. It is recommended to administer influenza, Streptococcus pneumoniae, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, herpes zoster, measles-mumps-rubella virus, human papillomavirus, and tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis vaccines in patients with AIIRD; such patients who planned to travel are generally recommended to be vaccinated at the recommended vaccine level of healthy adults. Those who live in a household with patients with AIIRD and their caregivers should also be vaccinated at levels that are generally recommended for healthy adults.

      • Hospital-based influenza morbidity and mortality surveillance system for influenza-like illnesses: a comparison with national influenza surveillance systems

        <P>The Hospital-based Influenza Morbidity and Mortality (HIMM) surveillance system is an emergency room (ER)-based influenza surveillance system in Korea that was established in 2011. The system was established under the assumption that integrated clinical and virologic surveillance could be performed rapidly and easily at seven tertiary hospitals' ER. Here, we assessed the correlation between data generated from the HIMM surveillance system and the Korean national influenza surveillance systems during the 2011–2012 influenza season using cross-correlation analysis and found strong correlations. Rapid antigen-test-based HIMM surveillance would predict the start of influenza epidemic earlier than pre-existing influenza-like-illness-based surveillance.</P>

      • Safety and immunogenicity of influenza vaccine among HIV-infected adults: Conventional vaccine vs. intradermal vaccine

        <P>Several studies have reported poor immune responses to conventional influenza vaccines in HIV-infected individuals. This study sought to elicit more potent immunogenicity in HIV-infected adults using an intradermal vaccine compared with a conventional intramuscular vaccine. This multicenter, randomized, controlled, open-label study was conducted at 3 university hospitals during the 2011/2012 pre-influenza season. Three vaccines were used in HIV-infected adults aged 18 - 60years: an inactivated intramuscular vaccine (Agrippal), a reduced-content intradermal vaccine (IDflu9g) and a standard-content intradermal vaccine (IDflu15g). Serum hemagglutination-inhibiting (HI) antibodies and INF- ELISpot assay were measured at the time of vaccination and 1month after vaccination. Adverse events were recorded for 7 d. A total of 28 Agrippal, 30 IDflu9g, and 28 IDflu15g volunteers were included in this analysis. One month after vaccination, the GMTs and differences in INF- ELISpot assay results were similar among the 3 groups. Seroprotection rates, seroconversion rates and mean fold increases (MFI) among the 3 groups were also similar, at approximately 80%, 50-60% and 2.5 - 10.0, respectively. All three vaccines satisfied the CHMP criteria for the A/H1N1 and A/H3N2 strains, but not those for the B strain. In univariate analysis, no demographic or clinical factors, including age, CD4+ T-cell counts, HIV viral load, ART status and vaccine type, were related to failure to achieve seroprotection. The three vaccines were all well-tolerated and all reported reactions were mild to moderate. However, there was a tendency toward a higher incidence of local and systemic reactions in the intradermal vaccine groups. The intradermal vaccine did not result in higher immunogenicity compared to the conventional intramuscular vaccine, even with increased antigen dose.</P>

        Long-Term Immunogenicity and Safety of a Conventional Influenza Vaccine in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

        <P>No previous studies have assessed the persistence of immune responses in individuals with diabetes. We conducted this study to evaluate the long-term immunogenicity and safety of an influenza vaccine in type 2 diabetic subjects compared with nondiabetic controls. A randomized and controlled study was conducted at two university hospitals during the 2012-2013 influenza season. The study vaccine was a standard-dose trivalent subunit inactivated intramuscular vaccine. Serum hemagglutination-inhibiting (HI) antibodies were measured at the time of vaccination and 1 month and 6 months after vaccination. Local and systemic reactions were recorded for 7 days. A total of 105 diabetic patients and 108 controls were included in the analysis. One month after vaccination, both the diabetic and nondiabetic groups satisfied all of the criteria of the Committee for Medical Products for Human Use (CHMP), and the immunogenicity profiles were statistically similar between the two groups. Although the vaccine was well tolerated, and all adverse reactions were mild to moderate, there was a tendency toward a reduced incidence of local reactions in the diabetic group. All values in the long-term immunogenicity profiles were statistically similar between the two groups, except for the seroprotection rate for the A/H1N1 influenza virus strain, which was significantly lower in the elderly diabetic group than that in the elderly nondiabetic group. However, in multivariate analysis, long-term immunogenicity was associated with age and prevaccination titer, regardless of diabetes status.       • Compensation Method of Gyroscope Bias Hysteresis Error with Temperature and Rate of Temperature using Deep Neural Networks

        In this paper, a new compensation method for hysteresis bias error of the ring laser gyroscope (RLG) is proposed. Deep neural networks using temperature and rate of temperature is applied to obtain the RLG bias. In the process of entering the deep neural networks, temperature and rate of temperature are split into several factors for higher accuracy. Through entering these factors to the deep neural networks, more accurate estimation performance is achieved than simply entering the temperature and rate of temperature. The RLG bias estimating performance of deep neural network is evaluated through comparing with various methods – 3rd order function, classic rate of temperature method, and radial basis function network (RBFN). The experimental results show that the proposed compensation method has more precise calibration performance than others.

        The convention industry has been continuously expanding its own area. However, in Korea, regional characteristics and infrastructure differences have resulted in disproportionate regional developments. In this context, the project to cultivate local conventions has begun to attract attention. Although the project was carried out by the Korea Tourism Organization since 2012, there is a very lack of research on this. This study aimed to reveal the current status and problems of the project and provide activation directions. For achieving the goal, the semantic network analysis was conducted based on 33 stakeholders interview data who are related to regional specialized conventions. From the results, improving the sustainability of human resources and budget is the main issue for the future development of regional conventions. Also, it laid the theoretical basis for research related to regional conventions and derived academic implications for expanding the breadth of research.

        Calibration Method for INS Based on Multiple Actuator Function

        This paper presents a calibration method based on a multiple actuator function (MAF) to improve the navigation performance of the inertial navigation system (INS). The navigation performance of the INS can be improved by utilizing a compensation function. Existing calibration methods model the compensation function based on calibration coefficients obtained by indirect calibration. In indirect calibration, the calibration coefficients are calculated using acceleration errors. However, errors such as random walks, white noise, and bias instability can affect the precision of the calculated calibration coefficients. These errors can degrade the accuracy of the calibration coefficients and the compensation function. To overcome these limitations, the proposed method models a compensation function based on the MAF. The accuracy of the compensation function is improved by the accurate actuator angle and actuator position of the MAF. Unlike indirect calibration, the precision of the MAF is improved exclusively by navigation performance. The accurate actuator angle is calculated by adopting gradient descent and Q-learning, and the accurate actuator position is calculated by adopting the Bhattacharyya coefficient. The accuracy and precision of the proposed calibration method is evaluated by static-state tests and vehicle tests. The results show that the proposed calibration method is a valid approach to improve the navigation performance of the INS.

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Recently, considerable research has been made on the development of bone tissue engineering (BTE) scaffolds to support cellular behaviors. Here, black phosphorus-incorporated poly(ε-caprolactone) and collagen (PCL/BP/Col) nanofiber matrices were designed and their potential as BTE scaffolds were explored. The PCL/BP/Col nanofiber matrices were fabricated successfully by electrospinning, showing that they were suitable for supporting cell growth. The PCL/BP/Col nanofiber matrices could promote not only initial attachment and proliferation, but also osteodifferentiation of preosteoblasts. In conclusion, PCL/BP/Col nanofiber matrices possess excellent biocompatibility and improve osteogenic differentiation.         도시 농업 경험 향상을 위한 통합적 텃밭 관리 모바일 애플리케이션 서비스 제안: 노원구 공공도시 텃밭을 중심으로

        텃밭 기르기를 주력으로 한 도시 농업은 지역 이웃과 소통하며 건강한 먹거리를 얻을 수 있다는 이점을 내세워 지속적인 성장세를 보이고 있다. 특히 코로나로 촉발된 비대면 패러다임에 따른 사회의 변화와 함께 이 성장세가 더욱 가속화되고 있다. 그러나 도시 농업에 대한 높아지는 관심도에 비해 도시농업 활성화를 위한 현재의 방법들에는 한계가 존재한다. 이에 본 연구는 도시 농업에 실질적으로 필요한 기능에 대해 조사하고, 이를 기반으로 일반인의 도시 농업 정보 접근성을 높이고 이용자가 효율적으로 작물을 관리할 수 있는 서비스 아이디어를 모색하였다. 본 연구는 디자인을 통한 리서치(Research Through Design) 연구 방법으로 통합적 텃밭 관리 모바일 애플리케이션 디자인 프로젝트를 진행하며 서비스 아이디어를 도출하였다. 해당 프로젝트는 노원구 경춘선 숲길 텃밭을 중심으로 진행하였으며, 텃밭 및 주말농장과 관련된 잠재적 이용자를 포함한 이해관계자를 대상으로 조사를 진행하여 문제점과 기회영역을 파악하였고, 이를 바탕으로 텃밭의 통합적 관리가 가능하도록 아이디어와 기능을 구체화하였다. 구체적으로 작물 관리 기능, 농기구 대여 기능 등을 제안함으로써 사용자들이 보다 편리하게 텃밭 관리 활동을 하게 하고 도시 농업 관련 정보 습득이 용이하도록 하였다. 또한, 커뮤니티 기능을 제공하여 특정 지역 텃밭 이용자 간의 소통과 도움을 통해 지역 내 공동체의 화합과 상생 효과를 야기할 수 있도록 하였다. 기후변화 및 환경오염 등으로 인한 지속가능하고 친환경적인 생활방식이 부각되면서, 도시 농업의 중요성은 높아지고 있다. 본 연구 결과는 도시 농업 발달을 위한 디자인적 접근의 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 본 연구를 통해 도시 농업 문화가 보다 활성화되기를 기대한다. Recently, urban agriculture including growing gardens continues to grow, with the advantage of being able to communicate with local neighbors and obtain healthy food. In particular, this growth is accelerating with changes in society following the non-face-to-face paradigm, triggered by the Corona Pandemic. However, there is a limitation in the current methods for revitalizing urban agriculture. Urban agricultural information is fragmented and its accessibility is low, and there is no integrated platform equipped with various functions required by garden users. Using the Research Through Design method, this study investigates the user’s actual needs for gardening, and proposes a mobile service that increases access to urban agricultural information and allows service users to efficiently manage crops. Focusing on the garden of Gyeongchun Line Forest Road in Nowon-gu, this study conducted a survey of stakeholders, including potential users related to gardens or weekend farms, to identify problems and opportunities, and specified ideas and functions to enable integrated graden management. Specifically, by proposing functions for crop management and farming equipment rental, it made it easier for users to manage gardens and obtain information related to urban agriculture. In addition, by providing community functions, communication and assistance between garden users in a specific region can lead to harmony and win-win effects of communities in the region. As sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyles are emerging due to climate change and environmental pollution, the importance of urban agriculture is increasing. The results of this study can be used as a basic resource for the design approach to urban agricultural development, and it is expected that urban agricultural culture will be more activated through this study.

        최근 서빙 로봇과 AGV(Auto Guided Vehicle) 등 다양한 산업 분야의 무인으로 동작하는 수단에 대한 관심이 점점 커지고 있다. 이러한 수단이 요구되는 곳 중 하나는 공항이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 사용자의 뒤를 따라다니거나 목표 지점으로 사용자를 안내하며 무게 측정 기능을 통해 사용자의 짐의 도난을 방지하고, 사용 이후 자동으로 복귀하는 스마트 캐리어를 구성하여 많은 사람이 공항을 편리하게 이용하고자 한다.
