      • Application of Improved Grid Search Algorithm on SVM for Classification of Tumor Gene

        According to the merits and shortcomings of the traditional gridsearch algorithm in parameters optimization of support vector machine (SVM), an improved grid search algorithm is proposed. Dichotomous search algorithm is used to reduce target searching range. First, searching range is determined roughly, and a set of parameters are obtained. Then fine search is applied in reduction the range for searching, and searching the optimum parameters.Three kinds of famous tumor gene data set are used in the comparison experiments to validate the classification accuracy of principal component analysis (PCA)-SVM and kernel principal component analysis (KPCA)-SVM. Experiment results and data analysis shows that, comparing with traditional gridsearch algorithm, the proposed method has higher classification accuracy and less search time.

        한자어가 포함된 신어의 유형 및 사회·문화적 함의 고찰 -2020~2023년『서울경제』 및 『아시아경제』 중 ‘신조어 사전’ 칼럼의 신어를 중심으로-

        본 고의 연구 목적은 한국어를 공부하는 중국인을 대상으로 진행할 한자어가 포함된 신어 교육을 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 진행된 연구 방법 및 연구 내용은 2020~2023년에 『서울경제』 및 『아시아경제』에서 발표된 모든 신어에서 한자어 포함된 신어를 추출하였다. 추출된 신어를 형태적·의미적 분류하여 분석하였다. 이를 통해 형태적 특징 및 의미적 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 형태적 분류했을 때 3음절 신어가 가장 큰 비중을 차지하였다. 둘째, 어종별로 살폈을 때는 ‘한+고’인 복합어가 가장 많이 나타났다. 셋째, 조어 방식에 따른 한자어가 포함된 신어 분류별 차지하는 비율은 축약 > 합성 > 혼성 > 차용 > 접미 > 접두의 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 의미적인 분류를 기초로 데이트 폭력이 자주 발생한 사회현상’,‘심각한 취업난’,‘1인 가구 증가 및 현재의 행복 추구’ 등 사회·문화적인 현상와 현대인의 가치관을 통찰할 수 있다. 신어는 문화적 배경이나 사회현상의 변화에 따라 생겨난 것이다. 그러므로 사회적·문화적 배경과의 연계하면 더 효과적인 어휘 교육이 될 수 있다. The purpose of this paper's study is to educate Chinese people who study Korean in new words that include Chinese characters. To this end, the research method and contents of the research were extracted from all new words published in the 『Seoul Economy』and『Asia Economy』from 2020 to 2023. The extracted new words were classified into morphological and semantic categories and analyzed. Through this, the morphological characteristics and semantic results are summarized as follows. First, when categorized in morphology, three-syllable new words accounted for the largest proportion. Second, when looking at languages style, the most common complex style with "Han + Go" appeared. Third, the proportion of each new word classification that includes Chinese characters according to the coined language method was in the order of abbreviation > synthesis > hybrid > borrowing > folding > prefix. Fourth, based on meaningful classification, social and cultural phenomena such as "social phenomena in which dating violence frequently occurred," "serious employment difficulties," and "increase of single-person households and the current pursuit of happiness" can be seen. New words are created by changes in cultural background or social phenomena. Therefore, if linked with social and cultural backgrounds, more effective vocabulary education can be achieved.

      • Port states’ responses to foreign cruise ships with COVID-19 or other epidemic risks

        The experience of various port states’ responses to more than 40 foreign cruise ships during the pandemic of COVID-19 exposes seriously arguable issues of the obligations and rights of a port state. Based upon such experience, the public health theory, and the features of cruise ships, the authors put forward the principles to be followed in determining the obligations and rights of a port state in public health response to foreign cruise ships infected or suspected of being infected with COVID- 19 or similar epidemic virus, i.e. the principles of national sovereignty, international protection of human rights, international cooperation, beneficiary pays and reasonable administration, and analyze the conflict between the principle of national sovereignty and that of international human rights protection and how to coordinate them. The authors expound in detail the obligations of a port state including allowing free pratique to foreign cruise ships and implementing surveillance, notification, verification and health measures. Also expounded are the rights of a port state, i.e. implementing public health measures on arrival and departure, requesting assistance and collaboration, and claiming compensation from shipowners and their liability insurers. Suggestions are put forward on improving International Health Regulation(IHR).

        Stability of phenolic acids and the effect on weed control activity

        Phenolic acid is a very important class of allelochemicals with allelopathic weed control activity. In this study, three benzoic acid derivatives (syringic, 4-hydroxybenzoic, and vanillic acids), three cinnamic acid derivatives (cinnamic, 4-hydroxycinnamic, and ferulic acids) were tested, and high-performance liquid chromatography was used to conduct a dynamic analysis on the changes in the concentration of phenolic acids in a bioassay based on the initial concentration and test time. The results showed that the concentration of individual phenolic acids and a solution of mixed phenolic acids decreased to a certain extent irrespective of environment, i.e., bioassay (4-7 days) or a ricegrowing environment, and a significant decrease in concentration was measured after 48 h. Based on the above results, the laboratory bioassay was conducted using a fresh solution of phenolic acids every 48 h. The results showed that the instability of phenolic acid could affect its weed control activity, and this effect was more significant for high concentrations of phenolic acids. On the other hand, changing the solution did not have a significant impact on the weed control activity of phenolic acids in the natural environment (pH 6.50), in which allelopathic rice release phenolic acids. These results reveal the instability of phenolic acids could significantly reduce the inhibition rate on the growth index for receptor plants in an indoor bioassay.

        Enhancement of Mechanical and Thermal Properties of SU‑8 Photoresist with Multilayer Woven Glass Fabric Based on Micromachining Technology

        SU-8 photoresist has been more and more widely used as a structural material in micro electromechanical system (MEMS) because of its low cost and excellent biocompatibility. However, the inferior mechanical and thermal performances immensely impinge the reliability of the MEMS device based SU-8 and accordingly restrict its application. Here we report the mechanicaland thermal performance of SU-8 reinforced by the multilayer glass fabric with the MEMS technology. The finite element simulation and specific experiment are conducted, which confirm that the reinforced SU-8 composites have a 281% increase in Young’s modulus and a 64% decrease in coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) compared with pure SU-8. Additionally,the improved mechanism has also been analyzed, including the excellent interface bonding between the SU-8 and glass fabric, and the high-bond energy of Si–O-Si chain structures in glass fabric. Furthermore, the glass fabric reinforced SU-8 could still possess a high light transmittance to maintain the ability of lithography patterning. Therefore, it is believed thatthe strategy proposed here may satisfy higher requirements of MEMS devices, which guarantees its practical applications in the functional microstructures.

        Quasi-classical Trajectory Calculation of the Chemical Reactions Ba+C6H5Br, m-C6H4CH3Br

        In this paper, the reactive dynamics properties of the reactions Ba + C6H5Br and Ba + m-C6H4CH3Br were studied by means of the quasi-classical trajectory method based on the London-Eyring-Polanyi-Sato potential energy surfaces. The vibrational distributions, reaction cross sections, rotational alignments of the products BaBr all were obtained. The peak values of the vibrational distributions are located at ν = 0 for the reactions Ba + C6H5Br and Ba + m-C6H4CH3Br when the collision energies are 1.09 and 1.10 eV, respectively. The reaction cross sections increase with the increasing collision energy, which changes from 0.6 to 1.5 eV. The product rotational alignments deviate from −0.5 and firstly increase and then decrease while the collision energy is increasing, just like that of Heavy+Light-Light system.

        Two-sex life table of Nasonia vitripennis (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae) and the effects of Wolbachia on its reproduction and parasitism of Musca domestica (Diptera: Muscidae)

        Nasonia vitripennis (Walker) (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae) is now emerging as genetic model organism for development and genetics research. As a parasitic insect, the egg, larval, pupal, and early adult developmental stages of N. vitripennis occur within the enclosed fly pupae, which differ a lot from the life cycle of other insects that undergo complete metamorphosis. Previous report on the life table of N. vitripennis was based on females only. In this study, the two-sex life table approach was used to examine the parasitic efficiency of N. vitripennis within the pupae of Musca domestica L. (Diptera: Muscidae), and the influence of low temperature and the endosymbiotic bacteria Wolbachia on wasp population growth were investigated. Wolbachia could improve the fecundity of N. vitripennis and prolong the host life history. We propose the preservation of M. domestica pupae at 4 ◦ C for 15 days is suitable in practical use. Age-stage, two-sex life table analysis revealed the stage structure and variability of N. vitripennis population growth, and also provide useful information about the effects of Wolbachia on its reproduction and parasitism of M. domestica.

      • Identification of a Novel Human Lysophosphatidic Acid Acyltransferase, LPAAT-theta, Which Activates mTOR Pathway

        Lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase (LPAAT) is an intrinsic membrane protein that catalyzes the synthesis of phosphatidic acid (PA) from lysophosphatidic acid (LPA). It is well known that LPAAT is involved in lipid biosynthesis, while its role in tumour progression has been of emerging interest in the last few years. To date, seven members of the LPAAT gene family have been found in human. Here we report a novel LPAAT member, designated as LPAAT-theta, which was 2728 base pairs in length and contained an open reading frame (ORF) encoding 434 amino acids. The LPAAT-theta gene consisted of 12 exons and 11 introns, and mapped to chromosome 4q21.23. LPAAT-theta was ubiquitously expressed in 18 human tissues by RT-PCR analysis. Subcellular localization of LPAAT-theta-EGFP fusion protein revealed that LPAAT-theta was distributed primarily in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) of COS-7 cells. Furthermore, we found that the overexpression of LPAAT-theta can induce mTOR-dependent p70S6K phosphorylation on Thr389 and 4EBP1 phosphorylation on Ser65 in HEK293T cells.

        Encainide, a class Ic anti-arrhythmic agent, blocks voltage-dependent potassium channels in coronary artery smooth muscle cells

        Voltage-dependent K<sup>+</sup> (Kv) channels are widely expressed on vascular smooth muscle cells and regulate vascular tone. Here, we explored the inhibitory effect of encainide, a class Ic anti-arrhythmic agent, on Kv channels of vascular smooth muscle from rabbit coronary arteries. Encainide inhibited Kv channels in a concentration-dependent manner with an IC<sub>50</sub> value of 8.91 ± 1.75 μM and Hill coefficient of 0.72 ± 0.06. The application of encainide shifted the activation curve toward a more positive potential without modifying the inactivation curve, suggesting that encainide inhibited Kv channels by altering the gating property of channel activation. The inhibition by encainide was not significantly affected by train pulses (1 and 2 Hz), indicating that the inhibition is not use (state)-dependent. The inhibitory effect of encainide was reduced by pretreatment with the Kv1.5 subtype inhibitor. However, pretreatment with the Kv2.1 subtype inhibitor did not alter the inhibitory effects of encainide on Kv currents. Based on these results, encainide inhibits vascular Kv channels in a concentration-dependent and use (state)-independent manner by altering the voltage sensor of the channels. Furthermore, Kv1.5 is the main Kv subtype involved in the effect of encainide.
