        토양 복원으로부터 배수된 물은 기준 농도에 만족시키기 위해서 적절한 처리가 이루어져야만 한다. 토양 복원 작업은 설정된 사항에 따라 site 마다 임시적으로 일어나며, 배수된 물의 특성은 각 site의 상태와 연령에 의존하여 다양하게 변하게 된다. 배수된 물에 대한 처리시설 설계는 매우 호환적이다. 배수된 물에 함유한 오염물질들은 침전방법으로 제거가 일어나며, 부유물질 혹은 용존성 중금속 이온 같은 침전하기 어려운 물질은 침전 방법으로 제거하기 위해서 고형물 형태로 전환되어야만 한다. 본 연구에서, TRP는 중금속 회수를 위한 가장 효과적인 약품이며, 종합적인 운영비용을 최소하기 위해, 첨가제의 양을 감소시킬 수 있는 것으로 판단된다. The water that drained from land remediation works must be treated to satisfy the limit of required values for the concentration of pollutants. As the land remediation works occur temporarily site-by-site following the demands, and the nature of the drained water varies depending on the histories and conditions of each sites, design of water treatment system for the drained water must be flexible. Contaminants contained in the drained water are removed out by precipitation method. Materials that difficult to precipitate such as suspended substances or dissolved metal ions must be converted to the solid form to be removed out by the precipitation. Adjustment of pH and use of flocculating agent is helpful for the conversion and the precipitation. We found TRP is one of the most effective agents for recovery of heavy metals, reducing the amount of other additive agents so that to minimize the total operating cost.

      • 오염된 토양과 점토 차단벽을 정화하기 위한 작업으로 제올라이트와 점토를 적용하는 신기술

        중금속이나 비소, 기타 독성 오염 물질에 의해 오염된 물과 토양은 항상 인간의 활동에 의해 만들어 진 것이다. 오염된 토양을 효과적으로 정화하는 기술은 화학물질이나 유기화합물, 콘크리트 들과 같은 인공 물질을 대신하여 제올라이트, 화산성 롬(풍화된 화산재), 돌로마이트와 같은 천연의 물질을 사용하는 것으로 개발되고 있다. 양이온 교환이나 흡착과정은 오염된 토양에서 이들 유해 중금속과 비소를 고정시키거나 함수된 알칼리류 또는 알칼리토류를 부 구성 성분으로 하는 알루미노실리케이트로 새롭게 결정체를 만들어 침전시킨다. 유해 중금속을 고정하거나 잡기위해 천연 물질을 사용하는 기술은 “Sealing Soil Technique (토양 밀봉 기술)” 이라 한다. 이 기술은 오염된 토양 뿐만 아니라 도시 지역의 최종 매립지의 차단벽이나 차단층으로 쓰이는 점토 차단벽의 물질을 정화하는 것에 적용될 수 있다. 이것의 커다란 장점 중의 하나는 정화 처리와 차단층 물질로 쓰이는 화학 물질이나 유기물이 분해된 것의 침투로부터 유래하는 2차 오염을 막는다는 것이다. 유사한 기술을 이용하여 다양한 오염원으로부터 중금속이나 비소로 오염된 물과 토양을 정화하기 위한 주된 천연 물질인 제올라이트, 점토, 돌로마이트와 “TRP”라 명명된 기타 다른 물질들의 혼합물을 이용한 저비용의 효과적인 방법이 개발되었다. 이것은 중화, 산화, 침전과 pH 조절로 침전된 중금속과 비소를 여과하는 과정을 포함한다. Contaminated soil and water by heavy metals, arsenic and other toxic pollutions are usually created under human activities. An effective remediation technique for the polluted land has been developed using of natural materials, such as zeolite, volcanic loam (weathered volcanic ash), and dolomite, instead of artificial materials, such as chemicals, organic compounds, concrete, and etc. The mechanism of cation exchange and/or adsorption conducts those hazardous heavy metals and arsenic in the polluted soil to be fixed and settled into newly crystallized hydrous alkaline and alkaline earth aluminosilicates as minor elements. The technique to use natural materials that trap and fix hazardous metals is called as Sealing Soil Technique. This is applicable not only for the remediation for polluted soil but also for materials of clay barrier to be used as a wall and/or bed of final waste disposal site of urban area. One of the immense advantages is to prevent secondary pollution derived from seepage that contains decomposed chemical substances and organic matters, used for the remediation treatment and barrier material. Using the similar technique we have develop effective procedure in low cost using a prescribed mixture of mainly natural material, zeolite, clay, dolomite and others under the name of TRP for remediation of contaminated water with heavy metals and arsenic from various sources. It includes a process to neutralize, oxidize, precipitate and filtrate out the precipitates of metals and arsenic under severe pH control.

      • Approaches to Suppressing Shaft Voltage in Non-Insulated Rotor Brushless DC Motor driven by PWM Inverter

        The voltage source PWM inverter generally used to drive the air conditioning (A/C) fans has been posing a large issue that the bearings in air conditioning fan motors are highly possible to be corroded electrically. Potential difference called shaft voltage is generated between inner and outer rings of the bearings due to inverter switching. The shaft voltage causes bearing lubricant breakdown dielectrically. As a result, bearing current is caused. This current causes the bearing corrosion. In previous work, we demonstrated that the shaft voltage can be reduced by using an insulator inserted between the outer and inner cores of the rotor in an air conditioning fan motor without grounding. This paper proposes the other countermeasure for reducing the shaft voltage in fan motors. The countermeasure which adds a capacitor between the brackets and the stator core is effective even for fan motors with non-insulated rotor. The effectiveness is confirmed by both simulated and experimental results.
