Primary mesenteric liposarcoma is rare. It is difficult to make an accurate preoperative diagnosis of the myxoid type of liposarcoma by using imaging such as ultrasound or computed tomography (CT) due to the very small amount of fat that is located in the tumor. We report a case of primary myxoid liposarcoma of the mesentery which was difficult to differentiate from other solid mesenteric tumors with a myxoid component such as low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma, myxoid leiomyosarcoma or myxoma. Use of chemical shift magnetic resonance (MR) imaging to detect small fat components and its cystic appearance with solid components on the MR images can be useful to differentiate myxoid liposarcoma from the other mesenteric tumors with a myxoid component.

Background Radial endobronchial ultrasound (rEBUS) transbronchial lung biopsy (TBLB) improves the diagnostic yield of peripheral lung lesions (PLL). However, its diagnostic yield is around 60%, so efforts for improvement are needed. In the present study, we evaluated the diagnostic utility of adding transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) to rEBUS-TBLB. Methods In this retrospective study, we initially screened 124 patients who underwent rEBUS for PLLs since December 2020 when PeriView FLEX needle® (Olympus, Tokyo, Japan), a commercial TBNA needle dedicated to rEBUS-TBNA, was introduced. The analysis was performed on 74 PLLs in 73 patients who received both rEBUS-TBLB and rEBUS-TBNA. Results PLLs showed following characteristics: lesion size (mean), 24 mm; nature (solid vs. subsolid), 59 (79.7%) vs. 15 (20.3%); distance from pleura (mean), 14 mm; rEBUS visualization type (probe within PLL vs. probe adjacent to PLL), 56 (75.7%) vs. 18 (24.3%). Among 74 PLLs, 47 (63.5%) were successfully diagnosed by rEBUS-TBLB. In 27 PLLs not diagnosed by rEBUS-TBLB, 5 (18.5%) were further diagnosed by rEBUS-TBNA [making the overall diagnostic yield 70.3% (52/74)] (Figure 1). EBUS visualization type of “probe adjacent to PLL” was a significant factor associated with the diagnostic yield of additional rEBUS-TBNA. Conclusions In performing rEBUS for PLLs, diagnostic yield could be improved by implementing TBNA in addition to TBLB. In particular, it is preferable to additionally perform TBNA when the probe is adjacent to the lesion rather than when the probe is within the lesion, on rEBUS.

The on-line monitoring for the wall thinning in secondary system has been considered one of main issues for the safety of nuclar power plants. To establish the on-line monitoring technique for the pipe wall thinning, the development of the ultrasonic transducer working in high-temperature is very important. In this investigation, the magnetostrictive transducer is concerned for high temperature condition up to 300℃. The magnetostrictive transducer has many advantages such as high working temperature, durability, cost-effectiveness, and shear waves, most of all. A thin Fe-Co alloy patch whose Curie temperture is over 900℃ was employed as a ferromagnetic material for magnetostriction. Wave transduction experiments in various temperature were carried out and the effect of bias magnets was considered together with the dry coupling performance of the transducer. From experimental results, consequently, it was found that the magnetostrictive transducer works stable even in high temperature up to 300℃ and can be a promising method for the on-line monitoring of the wall thinning in nuclear power plants.

Neurilemmomas are benign tumors originating from Schwann cells, and may occur in various nerves; however, they rarely originate from the lingual nerve. When a lingual nerve neurilemmoma develops in the submandibular space, it can be challenging to diagnose it preoperatively, and this tumor can be misdiagnosed as a usual submandibular gland tumor owing to the rarity and a lack of knowledge about lingual nerve neurilemmomas. Therefore, it is important to consider neurilemmoma in the differential diagnosis in cases where the characteristics of the tumor do not correspond with the typical findings of submandibular gland tumors, in order to avoid inadvertent sacrifice of the nerve because of incorrect diagnosis of a salivary gland tumor. Herein, we report a lingual nerve neurilemmoma in the submandibular space, along with a literature review, to highlight the clinical significance and improve understanding of this type of tumor.

This paper presents a superior humidity control stability performance and system of GM DAT climatic wind tunnel. The GM DAT climatic wind tunnel has two humidifiers, one is located in AHU between MAU and air circuit and the other is located in the front of corner 3 of air circuit. The humidity control system use MAU, holding steam injector or boosting steam injector or their combinations as per tunnel condition and set point. Specially, the humidity is able to be controlled at the -6°C with very high controllability. The humidity controllabilities are better than 0.5%RH(σ%RH) or 0.24℃ (σTd) at the overall control region.

In this paper, the power losses in the pump motor drive circuit of the ESC system are calculated according to the functions of ABS, ESC, and TCS. The losses calculated here are the conduction loss and the switching loss which are typically considered in the loss analyses for MOSFETs. This paper shows the simulation of the thermal fluctuation of a MOSFET by applying calculated losses. The performance of the motor drive circuit can be predicted by performing thermal simulations for each function of the ESC system. Reliability can also be estimated by simulating the maximum environmental temperature condition of the ESC system and, moreover, the pump motor drive circuit can be optimally designed without performing real experimentation.
