        Analysis on the performance of automobile manufacturers in China in 2013-2015

        The business performances of 21 public automobile manufacturers were analyzed with the original data released by China Securities Regulatory Commission from 2013 to 2015. Four common factors, including profitability indicators, liquidity indicators, capacity development indicators and aggregate performance indicator, were identified to commonly impact the aggregate performance of the automobile manufacturers. The results show that joint venture brand generally performs better than Chinese local brand, while bus manufacturers perform better than private car manufactures. In the meanwhile, different automobile manufacturers perform quite different on the common factors. Due to the economic growth slowdown in China and tightening of bank loans, some companies increased liquidity reservation. However, pursuit of high liquidity results in excessive idle fund which influences the investment and profitability, undermines business growth, and affects the aggregate business performance of the company. Therefore, distributing and utilizing of funds reasonably, increasing development capacity and reinforcing the management of inventory turnover should be the focus of the operating strategy

        A New Fuzzy Key Generation Method Based on PHY-Layer Fingerprints in Mobile Cognitive Radio Networks

        Classical key generation is complicated to update and key distribution generally requires fixed infrastructures. In order to eliminate these restrictions researchers have focused much attention on physical-layer (PHY-layer) based key generation methods. In this paper, we present a PHY-layer fingerprints based fuzzy key generation scheme, which works to prevent primary user emulation (PUE) attacks and spectrum sensing data falsification (SSDF) attacks, with multi-node collaborative defense strategies. We also propose two algorithms, the EA algorithm and the TA algorithm, to defend against eavesdropping attacks and tampering attacks in mobile cognitive radio networks (CRNs). We give security analyses of these algorithms in both the spatial and temporal domains, and prove the upper bound of the entropy loss in theory. We present a simulation result based on a MIMO-OFDM communication system which shows that the channel response characteristics received by legitimates tend to be consistent and phase characteristics are much more robust for key generation in mobile CRNs. In addition, NIST statistical tests show that the generated key in our proposed approach is secure and reliable.

        Wake vortex interaction effects on energy extraction performance of tandem oscillating hydrofoils

        An energy extracting technology based on tandem oscillating hydrofoils from flow field is presented in this paper. Numerical simulation were performed to optimize the spatial arrangement for tandem oscillating hydrofoils, the position of the downstream hydrofoil relative to the wake vortex shed by the upstream hydrofoil is seen as critical. Optimized position of the two hydrofoils improves the energy extraction performance through positive interactions between the downstream hydrofoil and the wake vortices of the upstream hydrofoil, and the highest energy extraction efficiency reaches 53.8%. The downstream hydrofoil has a slight impact on the energy extraction performance of the upstream hydrofoil, and the contribution from the upstream hydrofoil is usually slightly inferior to the single hydrofoil results. Leading edge vortex (LEV) is formed and shed from the upstream hydrofoil, which is seen as critical in the energy transformation between the fluid and the energy extraction device. For different reduced frequencies, the energy extraction of a single hydrofoil is heavily influenced by the dynamics of vortex forming and shedding. The investigation was also undertaken over a wide range of kinematic parameters, including hydrofoil separation distance and reduced frequency. Results reveal that energy extraction of tandem oscillating hydrofoils shows better performance than a single hydrofoil for optimal reduced frequency and suitable hydrofoil separation distance.

        Novel α-FeOOH Nanorods/Ag3PO4 Semiconductor Composites with Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity and Stability

        The composite α-FeOOH nanorods/Ag3PO4 photocatalyst has been successfully fabricated through a facile hydrothermal process combined with a successive in situ precipitation technique. The SEM and TEM images show that Ag3PO4 particles have been successfully loaded on the surface of FeOOH nanorods. The photocatalytic activities of the α-FeOOH/Ag3PO4 composite were investigated for their efficiency on the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) under ultra-violet light and visible light irradiation, and the results showed that the α-FeOOH/Ag3PO4 composite possessed remarkable photocatalytic activities. The enhanced photocatalytic activity can be attributed to the strong absorption in visible light and the effective separation of photogenerated hole–electron pairs between Ag3PO4 and α-FeOOH.
