        Background: Most cases of Graves' disease have been treated by antithyroid drugs in Korea. The major drawbacks of antithyroid drugs are the relative high rate of relapse and the inconvinience of long term therapy. Measurement of TBII and TRH stimulation test have been considered as the most reliable tests predicting relapse, but the predictive power is not high enough to use in clinical situation. This study was performed to find good prognostic indicators in Graves' disease patients after the discontinuation of antithyroid drug therapy. Subjects and methods : We restrospectively evaluated 96 patients with Graves' disease who showed normal TRH test at the end of antithyroid drug therapy and were followed for more than one year. Serum T3, T4, T3/T4 ratio, TBII, Anti-TPO Ab and TGAb levels were measured at the time of diagnosis and at the end of therapy. Two to three months after withdrawal of antithyroid medication, serum TSH and free T3 responses to TRH were examined. These parameters were compared between the relapse group and the remission group. Results : Among the 96 patients, 22 patients(22.9%) relapsed(Group Ⅱ) and 74 patients(77.1%) remained in remmision(Group Ⅰ). No significant difference was observed between the relapse and the remission group in clinical parameters, serum T3, T4, TSH, T3/T4 ratio, TBⅡ and Anti-TPO Ab determined before and after treatment. Serum TSH and free T3 levels measured after TRH stimulation were also similar in both groups. Serum TGAb levels determined at the end of treatment were significantly higher in the remission group(p<0.05). Relapse following the discontinuation of therapy occured within 24 months in 72.7% of the relapsed cases. After 24 months, relapse rate was reduced significantly. Conclusion : These results suggest that high serum TGAb levels could be a favorable prognostic indicator for the long term remission of Graves' disease treated with antithyroid drugs, and may suggest that Hashimoto's thyroiditis is combined with Graves' disease in those patients.

        공기압 실린더의 위치제어기 선정에 관한 연구

        This paper concentrates on the position control of a pneumatic cylinder under parameter variation. A closed-loop control is proposed to design the different controllers(P, PI, PID, PD controller) in order to choose the best controller based on the fast and accurate control of the system. It is shown that the control algorithm is robust and effective in attaining the fast and accurate position control of system under time-dependent parameter variation. Experimental results showed that PD controller law is effective to obtain the fast response and to increase the stability of the system. The method is a useful control algorithm which always automatically adjusts the position control in accordance with the error, using carrier wave of triangle type regardless of changes on the operating condition and physical differences between components.

        This study is investigated by experimental method and FEM about the effect of notch root radious(ρ) on the fracture of GFRP. The smaller ρshowed the fracture behavior which was mainly caused by the propagation of the stable crack, but the fracture behavior in the larger ρwas mainly caused by the spread of damage. The experimental value of the nominal stress could be estimated by FEM simulation and the load-displacement curve could also be drawn. According to the results simulated damage zone by FEM, as the ρis smaller, the damage begin at low stress.

        AutoCAD 프로그램을 이용한 자동 펌프설계 시스템 개발

        Recently, industry has moved towards automated operations with the goal of achieving better product quality, greater productivity and reliability. The pump design is characterized by extensive utilization of the related database which contains performance data. The inputs to the system are through interactive dialogue sessions and the basic input consist of flow rate, head of fluid, efficiency and the customer special requirements. These basic inputs along with the numerous rules in the knowledge bases and the mathematical modelling enable the effective design of the pump industry. This paper represents the development of an automatic pump design system that was composed of a main program, the data input module, the drawing module, the drawing edit module, and was programed y the AutoLISP language under the AutoCAD program. The developed system ultimately generates the design for a pump through the AutoCAD language.

        CORBA, which is a standard base of distributed object in distributed computing environment, suggests the method for clearly creating the demand for object defined on OMG and receiving it. Although CORBA appeared as the standard of distributed object and has played an important role in operating distributed object between different computer systems, distributed object computing has such fundamental problem as great demand by many clients an3 Server and the overload of network. CORBA is middle-ware technology to develop one distributed application program by connecting separately-developed distributed object in various platforms which are connected in, open communication network. With expansion of distributed application software scale and complex interface between distributed objects, this study defines object as group in the concept of aggregate in order to control efficiently and to be controlled as group by grouping multi-arranged object and suggests group object model in the side of controller for efficient control of distributed object.

        본 연구는 수준별 교육 과정의 도입이 주요 골자인 제7차 교육과정의 시행을 앞두고 농어촌지역의 소규모 학교에서 시도할 수 있는 수업 모형을 개발하고, 능력별 과제학습 카드의 활용을 통한 수업이 학생들의 학업 성취 수준과 수학과 학습 태도에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위한 연구로서 능력별 과제학습 카드를 활용한 지도가 전통적인 수업 방식에 비해 학생들의 학업 성취 수준과 향상과 학습태도의 변화에 효과적임을 입증할 수 있었다. 특히 상위 집단의 학생들 보다 중위 집단과 하위 집단의 학생들에게 더욱 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. In 7-th curriculum put in force in 2000, we will apply the curriculum according to the level to enlarge the growth potentiality and the efficiency of an education greatest. The purpose of this study is to develop the teaching model applicable in a small school, and for the students to learn according to their ability. Consequently the subject learning according to the ability was more effective to the advancement of the scholastic attainment than a traditional teaching method.

      • 수조모델 실험에 의한 각판상접지극의 접지저항에 관한 연구

        접지시설은 대지와 매설된 전극에 의해 본래의 기능을 수행하고 있다. 접지극은 설치 방법 및 크기에 따라 접지특성에 많은 영향을 주고 있다. 본 논문에서는 직접시공 하지 않아도 현장 조건과 동일한 구조로 제작된 스텐레스제 반구상 수조를 이용하여 접지극의 접지저항을 추정하고자 한다. 수조실험은 반구상수조의 크기를 고려하면서 최대한 실험 오차를 줄이기 위해 모형전극의 크기를 최대 한변의 길이를 100[㎜]로 하였다. 수조의 크기와 모형전극에 대한 중단오차는 0.75~7 5%이내로서 측정정밀도는 양호하였다. 수조모의 실험결과 단극에 의한 수직매설 실험에서는 모형전극의 한 변의 길이가 10[㎜]에서는 측정값과 인론값이 벗어나는 것이 확인되었다. 추후에는 수조모의 실험의 크기를 변화시켜 전극간에 미치는 전위간섭 및 설치방법에 따른 접지저항 특성을 분석하는 기법을 연구하는 것이 요구된다. Grounding electrode is causing much effects in grounding characteristics In this paper wishes to presume grounding resistance of grounding pole using steel hemisphere water tank that is manufactured by structure such as spot condition even if do not direction construction A water tank experiment reduces maximum experiment error considering size of hemisphere and model electrode size maximum by 100X100 [㎜] do. Discontinuance error about size of water. tank and model electrode is good measurement accuracy as 0.75~within 7.5% It confirmed that measurement value and theory value of length of model electrode escape in 10 [㎜] in a vertical laying experiment by monopole experiment result. Later, change size of an experiment of water tank. It is required that study techniques to analyze potential interference and grounding resistance characteristics by establishment method and influence reached between electrode.

        어류를 이용한 내분비계 장애물질 검출 및 Biomarker로서 Vitellogenin의 이용

        어류 vitellogenin은 난황전구체로 난형성과정동안에 estradiol의 체내 순환에 의해 암컷의 간에서 생산되며 alkylphenol류와 같은 비이온성 계면활성제 등의 내분비계 장애물질에 의해 수컷에서도 생산된다. 물 환경의 주요 생물종인 어류는 내분비계장애물질에 의해 암컷에서는 번식률 저하와 함께 수컷에서는 정소의 축소 및 이에 따른 암컷화가 관찰된다. 특히 수컷에서 내분비계 장애물질에 의해 유도된 vitellogenin의 생성을 이용하여 환경오염에 의해 유도된 생물체의 유전자 발현 변화 뿐만 아니라 이를 토대로 특정지역의 환경오염을 모니터링할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 어류의 vitellogenin를 이용하여 수환경의 내분비계장애물질의 검출과 환경오염 모니터링을 위한 biomarker로서의 유용성을 검토하였다. Fish vitellogenin produces in female liver during oogenesis through estradiol cycle, and produces even in male liver by endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) such as alkylphenols. The resulting effects of EDCs lead to the low fecundity of female and the feminization (eg. shrinkage of testis) in male. Especially, the production of vitellogenin in male indicates the environmental contamination of EDCs, resulting in the modulation fo gene expression profiles and the monitoring of environmental contamination at specific area. In this paper, we suggest that fish vitellogenin is useful for biomonitoring for environmental contamination and would be substantially useful as a biomarker for a detection of EDCs in aquatic environment.

      • 전자상거래관련 통상문제의 대두와 WTO의 대응

        본 논문은 전자상거래의 활성화로 통상문제의 구조가 급격하게 변화함에 따라 요구되는 규범화에 대한 논의와 이에 대한 WTO의 대응을 분석하고 있다. WTO에서는 전자상거래의 안정적인 성장을 위해 전자적 수단에 의한 국제거래를 규범화해야 할 필요가 있는지 그리고 이에 대한 기본적인 규율화가 가능한지를 논의하고 있다. 그럼에도 회원국들은 아직 전자상거래의 기술적 중립성이나 국내규제 등에 대한 합의는 물론 분류나 심지어는 정의에 대해서도 합의하지 못하고 있는 상태이다. 전자적 전송을 통한 디지털재화의 유통 방식의 전자상거래에 대한 문제의 경우에는 특히 이들에 대한 분류와 관련해서 가장 논란이 많은 것으로 나타나고 있다. 만약 디지털재화의 전자적 전송을 재화로 취급한다면 이는 GATT의 관할에 놓이겠지만, 이를 서비스로 간주한다면 GATS의 관할에 놓이게 될 것이다. 그러나 문제는 현실적으로 디지털재화가 물적재화로서의 특성과 서비스로서의 특성을 모두 가지고 있다는 것이다. 따라서 전자상거래를 GATT의 관할에 둘 것인지 아니면 GATS의 관할에 둘 것인지 또는 새로운 WTO규범을 창설할 것인가 하는 것이 논란이 제기된다. 한국의 경우 전자상거래는 아주 급속하게 성장하고 있는 분야이다. 정보통신과 관련한 하드웨어나 소프트웨어와 같은 디지털경제에 요구되는 여러 가지 인프라 역시 급속하게 성장하고 있다. 이들의 상업적 활용수준이나 기술 역시 지속적으로 성장하고 있으며 미래의 성장전망도 밝은 것으로 예상된다. 또한 전자상거래의 활성화가 한국의 경제성장에 커다란 활력이 될 것으로 보인다. 따라서 전자상거래의 자유화와 전자상거래부문의 자유무역을 기본적인 전자상거래관련 통상정책의 기본으로 수립하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 보인다. This report analyzes and draws out commercial policy implications for electronic commerce. To foster the expected growth of electronic commerce, WTO agreement should establish a basic legal framework for international transactions to guarantee a stable and predictable environment. However the members have not yet been able to form a consensus on the definition, classification, technological neutrality, and domestic regulations dealing with electronic commerce. Problems dealing with electronic commerce using digital transfers, especially classifications of electronic transfers, are the most difficult of the outstanding problems. If digital transfers are classified as goods, then it is subject to the GATT, whereas if the transfers are classified as services, then it is subject to the GATS. However, digital transfers share characteristics of both goods and services. Thus there is controversy regarding where electronic commerce should be subject to GATT, GATS or some other WTO Agreement. The discussions on electronic commerce, which had been on hold after the Seattle Ministerial, is due to begin in a special working group of specialists. The result of the discussion, as well as recommendations from the working group will be submitted in the next WTO Ministerial. Korea's use of electronic commerce is growing very rapidly. Infrastructure needed for a digital economy, such as telecommunication services, hardware and software are also developing quickly. The levels of commercial application, and technology are increasing, and the prospects for further development seems bright. Considering such prospects, could with Korea's export orientation. Korea should emphasize "five trade in electronic commerce" as a basic commercial policy position, and form policies accordingly.
