주용진,신주곤,서동균,박세익,JOO, YONGJIN,SHIN, JUGON,SEO, DONGKYUN,PARK, SEIK 한국수소및신에너지학회 2018 한국수소 및 신에너지학회논문집 Vol.29 No.4
This paper considers the alternative way to mitigate cost for REC instead of Photovoltaic (PV) panels with Energy Storage System (ESS). This study starts from an economic analysis of a 1 megawatt PV system without ESS. Several assumptions have been applied in consideration of the current domestic situation. Based on this result, the economic efficiency of PV with ESS improved. However, the reliance on government subsidies was very high. The alternative way to cover the fluctuation power from renewable energy was reviewed with economical and technical way. In case the natural gas engine applied to PV, the IRR and Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) can be improved without ESS. And if small amount of additional REC, the IRR can be improved up to investment level.
2019 KEPCO Journal on electric power and energy Vol.5 No.3
In this work, the flow and combustion characteristics using a 3-D numerical simulation was evaluated for a shale gas fueled combustor in a commercial class gas turbine. The Standard k-e turbulence model, 2 step methane oxidation mechanism, Finite rate/Eddy dissipation reaction model, DTRM radiation model were employed and validated well at the baseline condition (Natural Gas, Pilot Ratio 0.2). Based on the validated models, the combustion characteristics of shale gas was evaluated for three pilot ratios cases. It was found that NOx concentrations for all shale gas cases were less than the that for city gas, which imply that, at the selected PRs, the condition for combustion stability is satisfied. In addition, for higher PR, whereas the average temperatures at the exit are the same, the NOx increases. It means that diffusion combustion portion increases due to the higher PR.

A rapid antibiotic susceptibility test (AST) is desperately needed in clinical settings for fast and appropriate antibiotic administration. Traditional ASTs, which rely on cell culture, are not suitable for urgent cases of bacterial infection and antibiotic resistance owing to their relatively long test times. We describe a novel AST called single-cell morphological analysis (SCMA) that can determine antimicrobial susceptibility by automatically analyzing and categorizing morphological changes in single bacterial cells under various antimicrobial conditions. The SCMA was tested with four Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute standard bacterial strains and 189 clinical samples, including extended-spectrum β-lactamase–positive Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae, imipenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and vancomycin-resistant Enterococci from hospitals. The results were compared with the gold standard broth microdilution test. The SCMA results were obtained in less than 4 hours, with 91.5% categorical agreement and 6.51% minor, 2.56% major, and 1.49% very major discrepancies. Thus, SCMA provides rapid and accurate antimicrobial susceptibility data that satisfy the recommended performance of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Background: A rapid antibiotic susceptibility test (RAST) is desperately needed in clinical settings for fast and appropriate antibiotic administration. Traditional ASTs are not suitable for urgent cases of bacterial infection and antibiotic resistance due to their relatively long test times. Although many new ASTs have been developed, they are not practiced in clinics. Methods: we developed a RAST system called MAC 2.0. In the MAC 2.0 system, the MIC values were determined by bacterial growth imaging with single cell resolution. For single cell tracking, we used agarose as a fi xing agent in a microfi uidic channel. We also invented a novel AST method called single-cell morphological analysis (SCMA) that can determine antimicrobial susceptibility by automatic analyzing and categorizing morphological changes in single bacterial cells under various antimicrobial conditions. Results: When four Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) standard bacterial strains and 189 clinical samples, including extended-spectrum ß-lactamase (ESBL)- positive E. coli and K. pneumoniae, 5 imipenem-resistant P. aeruginosa (IRPA), methicillin- resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Enterococci (VRE) from hospitals, were tested with SCMA with gold standard broth microdilution test, the AST results were obtained only in 3~4 hours with 91.5% categorical agreement and 6.3% minor, 2.9% major and 1.4% very major discrepancies to satisfy the FDA standard for AST system. Conclusions: we determined antibiotic susceptibilities with a novel AST method called SCMA only in 3~4 hours showing accurate AST Results: This SCMA method can be used for fast and accurate treatments for urgent infection cases leading the increase of the cure rate.

Ogilvie's syndrome is a descriptive term referring to a clinical entity in which the signs and symptoms of rapid colonic distension are present without evidence of mechanical obstruction. The pathogenesis of pseudoobstruction remains unknown. Because it has been associated with such a wide variety of concomitant conditions, it is likely that several pathophysiologic mechanisms may trigger the pseudoobstruction. This syndrome is clinically important because of impending colonic perforation due to marked colonic distension. We experienced a case of Ogilvie's syndrome associated with pancreas cancer and reported with the review of the literature.
