Yuzheng(鬱證) comes from obstruction of qi by stress. The patient has depressed mood, irritable sign, chest discomfort, costal pain, angry state or some strange feeling on the throat. Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy is base on the theory of interrelation in five elements in oriental medicine. The contents of Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy include five subjugations of five emotions. Anxiety subjugates fear(思勝恐), fear subjugates joy(恐勝喜), joy subjugates pity(喜勝悲), pity subjugates anger(悲勝怒), and anger subjugates anxiety(怒勝思). Forgiveness program is a kind of psychological therapies to decrease the degree of anger and it is included in Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy. In this case, a female patient, 50 years old, who suffered from Yuzheng(鬱證) with chest discomfort, irritable sign, easily angry state, depressed mood, hot flush, insomnia. We used Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy besides herbal medication, acupuncture to her condition got improved. Therefore we reported it for the treatment.

<P>Genomic analysis of a hyperthermophilic archaeon, <I>Thermococcus</I> sp. NA1, revealed the presence of an 1,497 bp open reading frame, encoding a protein of 499 amino acids. The deduced amino acid sequence was similar to thermostable carboxypeptidase 1 from <I>Pyrococcus furiosus</I>, a member of peptidase family M32. Five motifs, including the HEXXH motif with two histidines coordinated with the active site metal, were conserved. The carboxypeptidase gene was cloned and overexpressed in <I>Escherichia coli</I>. Molecular masses assessed by SDS–PAGE and gel filtration were 61 kDa and 125 kDa respectively, which points to a dimeric structure for the recombinant enzyme, designated TNA1_CP. The enzyme showed optimum activity toward Z-Ala-Arg at pH 6.5 and 70–80 °C (<I>k</I>cat⁄<I>K</I>m=8.3 m<SMALL>M</SMALL>−1 s−1). In comparison with that of <I>P. furiosus</I> CP (<I>k</I>cat⁄<I>K</I>m=667 m<SMALL>M</SMALL>−1 s−1), TNA1_CP exhibited 80-fold lower catalytic efficiency. The enzyme showed broad substrate specificity with a preference for basic, aliphatic, and aromatic C-terminal amino acids. This broad specificity was confirmed by C-terminal ladder sequencing of porcine <I>N</I>-acetyl-renin substrate by TNA1_CP.</P>

Allergen immunotherapy (AIT) is a causative treatment for various allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, and bee venom allergy that induces tolerance to offending allergens. The need for uniform practice guidelines in AIT is continuously growing because of the increasing discovery of potential candidates for AIT and evolving interest in new therapeutic approaches. This guideline is an updated version of the Korean Academy of Asthma Allergy and Clinical Immunology recommendations for AIT published in 2010. This updated guideline proposes an expert opinion by allergy, pediatrics, and otorhinolaryngology specialists with an extensive literature review. The guideline deals with basic knowledge and methodological aspects of AIT, including mechanisms, clinical efficacy, patient selection, allergens extract selection, schedule and doses, management of adverse reactions, efficacy measurements, and special consideration in pediatrics. The guidelines for sublingual immunotherapy will be covered in detail in a separate article.

<B>ABSTRACT</B><P>Members of the genus <I>Thermococcus</I>, sulfur-reducing hyperthermophilic archaea, are ubiquitously present in various deep-sea hydrothermal vent systems and are considered to play a significant role in the microbial consortia. We present the complete genome sequence and feature analysis of <I>Thermococcus onnurineus</I> NA1 isolated from a deep-sea hydrothermal vent area, which reveal clues to its physiology. Based on results of genomic analysis, <I>T. onnurineus</I> NA1 possesses the metabolic pathways for organotrophic growth on peptides, amino acids, or sugars. More interesting was the discovery that the genome encoded unique proteins that are involved in carboxydotrophy to generate energy by oxidation of CO to CO2, thereby providing a mechanistic basis for growth with CO as a substrate. This lithotrophic feature in combination with carbon fixation via RuBisCO (ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase) introduces a new strategy with a complementing energy supply for <I>T. onnurineus</I> NA1 potentially allowing it to cope with nutrient stress in the surrounding of hydrothermal vents, providing the first genomic evidence for the carboxydotrophy in <I>Thermococcus</I>.</P>
Rotordynamic Characteristics of an APU Gas Turbine Rotor-Bearing System Having a Tie Shaft
Lee, An-Sung,Lee, Young-Seob The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers 2001 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.15 No.2
In this paper it is intended to set-up a sound model of the 60,000rpm 100kW prototype APU gas turbine rotor-bearing system, and particularly to investigate the influences of the tie shaft on the rotordynamic characteristics of the entire APU gas turbine rotor-bearing system, employing the dual shaft model. Firstly, a mock-up APU rotor has been constructed to test and verify the model. Analytical natural frequency results have agreed with the corresponding modal test ones to within 5% difference. Then, the rotordynamic characteristics of the prototype APU rotorbearing system have been investigated. Natural vibration and unbalance response analyses results have shown that the inner tie shaft resonance can cause high enough vibration of the outer main rotor shaft. This could be a concern as the rotor journals operate on very thin air film at high speed. It is concluded as a conservative design practice that the inner tie shaft should be explicitly modeled in the rotordynamic analysis of the APU rotor-bearing system.
Existence of optimal cooling conditions in the film blowing process
Lee, Joo Sung,Shin, Dong Myeong,Song, Hyun-Seob,Jung, Hyun Wook,Hyun, Jae Chun Elsevier 2006 Journal of non-Newtonian fluid mechanics Vol.137 No.1
<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>The existence of optimal cooling conditions with respect to process stability has been experimentally found in film blowing, in a sharp contrast to other extensional deformation processes such as fiber spinning and film casting where maximum, not optimal, cooling always unequivocally enhances process stability. The same simulation model of film blowing of Hyun et al. [J.C. Hyun, H. Kim, J.S. Lee, H.-S. Song, H.W. Jung, Transient solutions of the dynamics in film blowing processes, J. Non-Newtonian Fluid Mech., 121 (2004) 157–162] proven quite accurate in portraying the transient dynamic behavior of the film blowing as compared with experimental data, has been used in this study to carry out a linear stability analysis, which then clearly confirms the experimentally found optimal cooling conditions. These optimal cooling conditions in film blowing stemming from the multiplicity of steady states of the process thus make the strategies for stabilization and optimization of the process quite a challenging task in both industry and academia because of their common relevance to the important process productivity issue.</P>

<P>Kainic acid (KA)-induced seizure induces the hippocampal cell death. There are reports that AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), which is an important regulator of energy homeostasis of cells, has been proposed as apoptotic molecule. In this study, we investigated the altered expression of AMPK cascade in the hippocampus of mice during KA-induced hippocampal cell death. Mice were killed at 2, 6, 24 or 48 h after KA (30 mg/kg) injection. Histological evaluation of KA-treated hippocampus revealed hippocampal cell death first at 6 h and appearing prominently by 48 h after KA injection. Immunoreactivity of Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase kinasebeta (CaMKKbeta) was increased after KA treatment. In Western blot analysis, AMPK activation was increased 2 h after KA treatment. The proteins of downstream AMPK, including those of glucose transporter1 (GLUT1) and phosphorylation of Acetyl CoA Carboxylase (ACC) were increased in the hippocampus after KA treatment. These results indicate that sustained AMPK activation might be a mechanism by which KA-induced seizure causes hippocampal cell death of mice.</P>
