Evaluation of sHLA-G levels in serum of patients with prostate cancer identify as a potential of tumor marker

        Mohammad Hassan Heidari,Abolfazl Movafagh,Mohammad Amin Abdollahifar,Shabnam Abdi,Mohamadreza Mashhoudi Barez,Hadi Azimi,Afshin Moradi,Amin Bagheri,Matineh Heidari,Jafar Hessam Mohseni,Maryam Tadayon 대한해부학회 2017 Anatomy & Cell Biology Vol.50 No.1

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer type in men and is the second cause of death, due to cancer, in patients over 50, after lung cancer. Prostate specific antigen (PSA) is a widely used tumor marker for prostate cancer. Recently, PSA is discovered in non-prostatic cancer tissues in men and women raising doubts about its specificity for prostatic tissues. PSA exists in low serum level in healthy men and in higher levels in many prostate disorders, including prostatitis and prostate cancer. Thus, a supplementary tumor marker is needed to accurately diagnose the cancer and to observe the patient after treatment. Recently, soluble human leukocyte antigen-G (sHLA-G) has been introduced as a new tumor marker for different cancer types, including colorectal, breast, lung, and ovary. The present descriptive-experimental study was carried out including patients with malignant prostate tumor, patients with benign prostate tumor, and a group of health men as the control group, as judged by an oncologist as well as a pathologist. After sterile blood sampling, sHLA-G was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in each group. The data was then analyzed using one-way ANOVA. P≤0.05 was considered as statistically significant. The results showed that the mean of sHLA-G level was high in patients. Also, it was found that there was a significant difference in sHLA serum level between the three groups. The data revealed that sHLA-G can be a novel upplementary tumor marker in addition to PSA to diagnose prostate cancer.

A Novel Sliding Mode Based UPQC Controller for Power Quality Improvement in Micro-Grids

Heidari Mohammad Amin,Nafar Mehdi,Niknam Taher 대한전기학회 2022 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.17 No.1

This paper presents a novel State Observer Based Sliding Mode controller for UPQC inverters to enhance the power quality in microgrids. In the proposed control scheme, Enhanced extended state observer was applied on a standard sliding mode controller to boost its disturbance rejection capability. The controller was designed to be robust against parameteric and external uncertainties. Further, aff ordable UPQC-grid integration scheme suggested where the photovoltaeek system could be connected to the network via UPQC inverters. Using the suggested confi guration the active and reactive power injection capability was added to UPQC along with its commonly known advantages. Extensive MATLAB Simulink-based theoretical and experimental studies were conducted in diff erent scenarios to verify the effi ciency of the proposed method in improving the power quality indices. Using UPQC with the proposed control scheme shows the better performance than the current traditional UPQC controllers in voltage sag reduction and Harmonics minimization. The main feature of the proposed controller included its accuracy and fast tracking response

Increase in concentration of soluble HLA-G in high-quality embryos after intracytoplasmic sperm injection

        Mohammad Hassan Heidari,Marefat Ghaffari Novin,Farzaneh Ahmadi,Mehran Khorshid,Tohid Najafi,Aidin Molouki,Saghar Salehpour,Mojgan Bandehpour,Matineh Heidari,Eimi Sato 대한해부학회 2011 Anatomy & Cell Biology Vol.44 No.4

Non-invasive methods are normally preferred to conventional invasive methods when selecting suitable embryos to improve pregnancy rates after assisted reproduction techniques. One of the most recognized non-invasive methods is to examine the supernatants of embryo culture media. Soluble human leukocyte antigen, class I, G (sHLA-G) antigen is a non-classical class I molecule that has been widely considered as a marker of pregnancy failure or implantation success. In the current study of some Iranian patients, we examined the concentration of sHLA-G at different time points after intracytoplasmic sperm injection and compared the rates to the morphology and quality of the selected embryos. We showed that the concentration of sHLA-G increases over time in high-quality embryos. We conclude that there is a positive relationship between morphology, quality, and sHLA-G concentration. We suggest that this relationship can be used to increase the chance of a successful pregnancy.

      • Water oxidation by simple manganese salts in the presence of cerium(iv) ammonium nitrate: towards a complete picture

Heidari, Sima,Najafpour, Mohammad Mahdi,Hołyń,ska, Małgorzata,Singh, Jitendra Pal,Chae, Keun Hwa,Khatamian, Masoumeh The Royal Society of Chemistry 2018 Dalton transactions Vol.47 No.5

For the first time, using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray absorption near edge structure and extended X-ray absorption fine structure X-ray diffraction, it is showed that MnCO3, MnWO4, Mn3(PO4)2·3H2O, MnS and Mn(VO3)2·xH2O under the water-oxidation conditions and in the presence of cerium(iv) ammonium nitrate, are converted to Mn oxide without a high-range order. A mechanism is proposed for such conversion and as Mn oxide is an efficient water-oxidizing catalyst, it is thus a candidate as a contributor to the observed catalytic activity.
