Effects of Surface Machining by a Lathe on Microstructure of Near Surface Layer and Corrosion Behavior of SA182 Grade 304 Stainless Steel in Simulated Primary Water

        ( Zhiming Zhang ),( Jianqiu Wang ),( En-hou Han ),( Wei Ke ) 한국부식방식학회(구 한국부식학회) 2019 Corrosion Science and Technology Vol.18 No.1

To find proper lathe machining parameters for SA182 Grade 304 stainless steel (SS), six kinds of samples with different machining surface states were prepared using a lathe. Surface morphologies and microstructures of near surface deformed layers on different samples were analysed. Surface morphologies and chemical composition of oxide films formed on different samples in simulated primary water with 100 μg/L O2 at 310 ℃ were characterized. Results showed that surface roughness was mainly affected by lathe feed. Surface machining caused grain refinement at the top layer. A severely deformed layer with different thicknesses formed on all samples. In addition to high defect density caused by surface deformation, phase transformation, residual stress, and strain also affected the oxidation behaviour of SA182 Grade 304 SS in the test solution. Machining parameters used for # 4 (feed, 0.15 mm/r; back engagement, 2 mm; cutting speed, 114.86 m/min) and # 6 (feed,0.20 mm/r; back engagement, 1 mm; cutting speed, 73.01 m/min) samples were found to be proper for lathe machining of SA182 Grade 304 SS.

A simple data assimilation method to improve atmospheric dispersion based on Lagrangian puff model

        Li, Ke,Chen, Weihua,Liang, Manchun,Zhou, Jianqiu,Wang, Yunfu,He, Shuijun,Yang, Jie,Yang, Dandan,Shen, Hongmin,Wang, Xiangwei Korean Nuclear Society 2021 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.53 No.7

To model the atmospheric dispersion of radionuclides released from nuclear accident is very important for nuclear emergency. But the uncertainty of model parameters, such as source term and meteorological data, may significantly affect the prediction accuracy. Data assimilation (DA) is usually used to improve the model prediction with the measurements. The paper proposed a parameter bias transformation method combined with Lagrangian puff model to perform DA. The method uses the transformation of coordinates to approximate the effect of parameters bias. The uncertainty of four model parameters is considered in the paper: release rate, wind speed, wind direction and plume height. And particle swarm optimization is used for searching the optimal parameters. Twin experiment and Kincaid experiment are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The results show that the proposed method can effectively increase the reliability of model prediction and estimate the parameters. It has the advantage of clear concept and simple calculation. It will be useful for improving the result of atmospheric dispersion model at the early stage of nuclear emergency.

Insights into interfacial stability of Li6PS5Cl solid electrolytes with buffer layers

        Bingbing Chen,Chaoqun Xu,Han Wang,Jianqiu Zhou 한국물리학회 2019 Current Applied Physics Vol.19 No.2

The large interfacial resistance seriously restricts the development of all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs). In our work, first-principles calculations are employed to investigate the interfacial properties on lithium (Li) metal anode/Li6PS5Cl solid electrolyte (LPSCl) interface system as well as buffer layers (Li2S) effects. The stable interface structures, Li/LPSCl, L2S/LPSCl and Li/L2S, are established at atomic level. We find that PS4 tetrahedral structure has been seriously destroyed in Li/LPSCl interface, whereas the presence of Li2S buffer layers may smooth the interface without PS4 tetrahedral damage occurred. In addition, the electronic structure of interface indicates that solid electrolyte interphases are not easy to form on LPSCl surfaces considering buffer layers effects, which may improve the stability of anode/solid electrode interface. Moreover, the calculated energies of exchange ions between Li metal and solid electrolyte with buffer layers suggest that the Li2S interposition can suppress the atoms diffusion in LPSCl layers, and provide a smooth interface structure, which may promote the stability of Li/LPSCl interface. This work on the atomic scale will offer a useful perspective for designing high performance of solid electrolytes to enhance good cyclability in ASSLBs.

Impact of Education on Multidimensional Poverty Reduction at the Post-Poverty Alleviation Era in Xinjiang

        Jian Qiu,Hongsen Wang,Ailida Aikerbayr 대외경제정책연구원 2023 East Asian Economic Review Vol.27 No.3

The multidimensional poverty index is an indicator system established for defining and evaluating poverty, to understand poverty in dimensions beyond just monetary scarcity. Based on income, education, health, living standards, and social dimensions, this article measures and analyzes the level of multidimensional poverty in Xinjiang using the Alkire-Foster method, with cross-sectional data obtained from a 2022 survey. Probit model is constructed for regression analysis, further considering the impact of education on enhancing feasible capabilities and alleviating multidimensional poverty at the post-poverty alleviation era. The data shows that many people still face significant challenges from the perspective of multidimensional poverty; the decomposition results of each dimension show that education contributes more to the multidimensional poverty; the regression analysis results show that the higher the education level, the lower the multidimensional poverty; heterogeneity analysis revealed that the inhibitory effect of education on multidimensional poverty is greater for females than males, and the poverty reduction effect of education mainly concentrates on middle-aged and older individuals. This article is meaningful for exploring strategies to alleviate multidimensional poverty in ethnic minority regions in frontier areas in the new era, accelerating regional economic development, and achieving shared prosperity.
