        Evaluation of Renal Toxicity by Combination Exposure to Melamine and Cyanuric Acid in Male Sprague-Dawley Rats

        Melamine-induced nephrotoxicity is closely associated with crystal formation in the kidney caused by combined exposure to melamine (Mel) and cyanuric acid (CA). However, there are few dosage-finding studies for toxicological evaluation of chronic co-exposure to Mel and CA. The objective of this study was to investigate the possible mechanism by which a Mel and CA mixture lead to renal toxicity in rats. Mel and CA were co-administered to rats via oral gavage for 50 days. Nephrotoxicity was determined by measuring blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine (sCr) levels. Relative kidney weights were significantly increased in rats after co-exposure to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg) mixtures. BUN and sCr levels were significantly increased after Mel and CA co-exposure. Taken together, significant increase in KIM-1, NGAL, and calbindin levels were observed in the urine of rats exposed to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg) compared with the corresponding control group. Histological analysis revealed epithelial degeneration and necrotic cell death in the proximal tubules of the kidney after co-exposure to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg). Our data suggest that Mel-mediated renal toxicity may be influenced by CA concentrations in Mel-contaminated milk or foods.

        Taekwondo became a world-wide sport beyond the symbol of Korean traditional culture. Taekwondo go through its value and put love for humanity and love of peace in practice in order to share love and participation with a citizen of the world. There are three essential prerequisite essentials for Taekwondo to be loved by people from all of the world in a globalizational era. Those are renovation, reinforcement, and solidarity and it can be practiced through revision of match rules, improvement of equipment, continuance of exhibition tour, and dispatch of masters.Also, educational values of Taekwondo is very important to achieve peace and happiness of all mankinds. Those are follows;First, Taekwondo has a basis of education for the whole man. Second, Taekwondo masters have authority as a leader. Third, Taekwondo training places are educational sites.         In order to find out the effect of Anti-Histamine of the Sungmagalkuntang and Sungmagalkuntang-plus-samultang I've investigated the effect of the time to death, the peripheral vascular Peaneability, the amount of secretion of Gastric Juice, the total Acidity of Gastric Juice, the contraction of Intestine Tube by Histarnine and the effect of the Skin-Reaction by the decrease of DNCB. These results are following 1. The effect of Mice s rime to death by Histamine was that the injection group of sungmagalkuiigtang and the injection group of sungmagalkungtang-plus-samultang both have had the effect of the extention uf the time lo death, which indicated a statistical significance in comparison with comparative group. 2. The effect of the increased vascular permeability by Histamine was that the injection group of sungmagalkuntang and the injection group of sungmagalkuntang-plus-samultang both have had the effect of the restraint of the increased vascular permeability, which indicated a statistical significance in comparison with comparative group. 3. The effect of the the amount of the secretion of Gastric Juice by Histamine stimulus was tirat the injection group of sungmagalkuntang-plus-samultang only has had the effect of restraint of the increased of the secretion of Gastric Juice, which indicated a statistical significance in comparison with comparative group. 4. The effect of the chan,ge of total Acidity of Gastric Juice by Histamine's stimulus was that the injection group of sungmagalkuntang-plus-samultang only has had the effect of the restraint of the increase of tolal Acidity of Gastric Juice,, which indicated a statistical significance in comparison with comparative group. 5. The effect of the contraction of Intestine Tube by Histamine was that sungmagalkuntang and sungmagalkuntang-plus-samultang both have had the effect of the contraction and the restraint According to the increase of the density, the effect of the restraint was more clear. But the difference of the effects between two substances had little. 6. The effect of the reaction of skin by the decrease of DNCB was that the injection group of sungmagalkuntang and the injection group of sungmagalkuntang-plus-samultang have had the decreased effect of the Skin-Reaction in comparison with comparative group. sungmagalkun-tang-plus-samultang aws more effective. In these results shown above, both sungmagalkuntang and sungmagalkuntang-plus-samultang was shown as more effective one

      • 男性不姙症의 治療에 對한 文獻的 考察

        Studying documents & papers on the cure of mate sterility to conclusion as follows. 1. The methodes of cure were applied Onbosinyang, Jaeumbosin, Soganheul, Joseubhwadam, Boickgihyul, Hwalhyeolhwaua, Boickbisn, etc. And the causes of disease were applied Sinyanghue, Sineumhue, Ganulgihe, Damseubneon, Gihwelyanghue, Gichehyeolul, Bisinyanghue, etc. 2. Prescription were applied Chanyukdan Ojayuenjonghwan on Sinyanghue, Yukmijihwan Jibekjihwanghwan on Sinuemhue, Sihosogansan Soyosan on Ganulgiche, Changchuldodamtang Bihebunchungeum on Damseubneon, Sibjyundaebotang Paljintang on Gihyeolyanghue, Sobokchu-kuatang Gueasengjungtang on Gichehyeolul, Sibjayukguntang Bisinssangbohwan on Bisinyanghue, etc. and Ojayunjonghwan being added in the base to cure another causes of disease as well as Sinhue. 3. The cause of disease were presonted to be Sinhue mostly ; Sinvanghue particulatly. And there were usually 25∼42years old, married lives of 3~8years, cure periods of 2∼5mon-ths, general effectiveness(approximately 76%), pregnancies(approximately 47%). 4, The methodes of cure in oriental medical prepared with the causes of disease in western one are showed in blow ; The cause of semen formation disorder is considered the methodes of cure in Onbosinyang, Jaeumbosin, Boickbin and the cause of functional ejaculation disorder in mind is considered the method of cure in Sogangegwu on the base in Bosin.

      • 基底核病變에 依한 不隨意運動 患者 2例에 對한 臨床報告

        Extrapyramidal movement disorders are divided descriptively into hypokinesias (such as parkinsonism), characterized by poverty and slowness of movement ; hyperkinesias (such as chorea, athetosis, dystonia, ballism, etc.), manifested by abnormal involuntary movement. Chorea refers to widespread arrythythmic movements of a forcible, rapid, jerky, restless type. Choreic movements are noted for their irregularity and variability. They are generally continuous, may be simple or quite elaborate, and affect any part of the body. Dystonia refers to abnormally increased muscular tone that causes fixed abnormal postures. Some patients with dystonia also have shifting postures, resulting from irregular, forceful twisting movement that affect trunk and produce bizarre, grotesque movements and positions of the body. The most frequent and familiar type of focal dystonia is spasmodic torticollis. It consists of an involuntary turning of the head to one side - intermittent at first, then gradually worsening to the point of being more or loss continuous. The combination of blepharospasm and oromandibular dystonia is sometimes referred to as Meige's syndrome. We report two patients with dystonia and chorea in cerebral infarction at basal ganglia. We have experienced good improvement by the oriental medicine and acupuncture trearment. The acupuncture points of LI 4, ST 36, TE 3, GB 34, GB 41, LR 3, GB 39 were used. The therapies of herb-medicine were treated by Zibu-Ganshen, Huoxue-Xifeng-Tongluo.

      • 五倍子가 Alloxan에 의한 實驗的 糖尿病 마우스의 膵臟 glucokinase 및 hexokinase活性에 미치는 影響에 關한 硏究

        Glucokinase와 hexokinase는 간과 췌장에서 인슐린에 의해 혈당이용을 증대시키며 혈당농도를 감지하여 인슐린 분비를 조절하는 효소로서 인슐린비의존성당뇨병(NIDDM)의 병인과 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 또한, alloxan은 glucokinase의 활성부위에 존재하는 -SH기와 경쟁적으로 결합하여 효소활성을 저해함으로서 당뇨병을 유도한다. 본 연구에서는 당뇨병치료의 전통한방약재로서 사용되고 있는 五倍子추출물의 효과를 해명하기 위하여 alloxan유발 실험적 당뇨마우스의 glucokinase와 hexokinase의 활성을 검토한 겨과, alloxan주사에 의해 체중과 공복시의 glucose 및 insulin 분비가 증가되었으나, 五倍子투여로 공복시의 insulin분비가 감소하였으며 체중과 공복시의 혈당은 유의성은 없었으나 대조군에 비하여 감소하였다. 그러나, 혈당수치가 정상군에 비하여 현저하게 증가되었으나 五倍子투여로 현저히 감소하였으며 Insulin치의 상승과 분비지연도 五倍子투여군에서는 정상군과 유사한 경향을 보였다. 한편, 혈중glucokinase와 hexokinase의 활성은 alloxan주사에 의해 현저히 감소되었으나, 五倍子 투여로 유의성 있게 상승되었다. 이상의 결과로, 五倍子는 alloxan으로 유발된 실험적 당뇨병에서 포도당인 산화 효소인 glucokinase와 hexokinase의 활성을 증가시키는 것으로 나타나 당뇨병의 치료에 임상적인 효과가 있음을 시사하였다. The in vivo effect of an aquous extract from Rhois Galla (R-G) on glucokinase and hexokinase activities has been examined in mice having diabetes mellitus induced by alloxan, which specifically bind to -SH group of the enzymes and inhibits the enzyme activities. After 1 week of alloxan injection, the levels of serum glucose and insulin secretion were dramatically increase, however, the insulin secretion was decreased with administration of R-G in alloxan-treated mice. Alloxan injection allowed the serum glucose level increased and the level was decreased by R-G administration. Furthermore, it has been observed that R-G was effective in recovering the levels of insulin secretion in the alloxan-treated diabetic mice. Enzyme activities of the glucokinase and hexokinase were decreased by alloxan treatment. In contrast, R-G administration to the mice allowed proportional increasing. These results strongly suggested that R-G is highly effective in treatment of diabetes mellitus induced by alloxan.

        鹿脛骨이 卵巢摘出로 誘發된 흰쥐의 骨多孔症에 미치는 影響

        The purpose of this study is to examine what are the effects of the Deer Tibia on the postmenopausal osteoporosis. In order to observe the effects of the Deer Tibia on the osteoporosis induced from ovariectomy, administered the Deer Tibia in p.o to the ovariectomized Rats, and measured the variance of weight related to osteoporosis, the variance of osteocalcin, calcium, ALP, phosphorus, GOT and GPT in serum, the variance of creatinine, calcium to creatinine rate in urine and urinary volume, the variance of the organs in weight and the variance of the bones. The results of the experiment are as follows: 1. The level of serum ALP, S-GOT and S-GPT in Deer Tibia group was showed a significant decrease in comparison with control group. The level of serum osteocalcine, calcium, phosphorus in Deer Tibia group was showed no efficiency in comparison with control group. 2. The level of urinary volume in Deer Tibia group was showed a significant increase in comparison with control group, and calcium to creatnine ratio in Deer Tibia group showed a significant increase. 3. The weight of tibia ash and the length of femur in Deer Tibia group showed no significant change. The bone density in Deer Tibia group showed a significant increased in comparison with control group. 4. Body weight in Deer Tibia group was increased in comparison with control group, but showed no efficiency. The weight of heart, liver, spleen, kidney and uterus in Deer Tibia group showed no significant change in comparison with control group. According to the above results, effects of the Deer Tibia on the aged ovariectomized rat model showed a efficiency in elevation of bone density by increasing bone mass and in prevention of renal function failure by ovariectomy. So Deer Tibia can be used for prevention and curing of the postmenopausal osteoporosis, as for it's effects, continuous clinical study is needed.
