        In the 60's to 70's, frame selection was a purely mechanical consideration almost entirely dominated by the optician and his subjective judgments. Today the cosmetic factor is predominant. The variety of frame color, materials, and style means that the main burden of selection has passed to the customer, leaving the optician control a subtle factor often difficult to exert. Common materials include nickel silver, Hi-nickel alloy, bronze, stainless steel, gold, gold plated, gold clad, copper beryllium, titanium and sometimes aluminium. In manufacturing of metal frames with the materials, even though fashion is the stimulant of consumer demand, all the metal frame for the prescription to refractive correction should be designed correctly styled eyewear which is cosmetically pleasing, functional correct, physically comfortable, mechanically and structually perfectible, and temperamentally acceptable.

      • 콘크리트 强度變化가 CFT短柱의 軸壓縮擧動에 미치는 影響

        This paper aims to report the experimental study on the axial compressive behavior of tubular stub columns filled with variable concrete strength(f_c=500, 1,000㎏/㎠). The 24 specimen were tested to investigate the relationships between concrete strength and the ultimate strength of stub column. The effects of inner concrete on the failure mode, the ultimate strength, initial stiffiness and deformation capacity was discussed. From this experimental study, we found that the ratio of concrete strength was not proportion to the increasing rate of ultimate strength. This paper presents an experimental study on the strength and deformation of concrete-filled steel stub columns. In Korea, there is not the compressive design standard of CFT columns filled with high strength concrete(500㎏/㎠ and over). Therefore, this results can make a contribution to the development of our own design standard.

      • CFT 圓型短柱의 中心壓縮擧動에 關한 硏究

        The use of composite members to improve the compressive strength of steel structure is a practice that has become common nowadays and its efficiency has already been proved by several researches and experiments. The result of concrete filled circular tubular(CFCT) stub column tests is introduced in this paper. The main parameter of this test is the diameter to thickness ratio of circular hollow section. From the test results, the effect of inner concrete on the ultimate strength and the deformation capacity is discussed. The ultimate strength of test result is compared with that of calculated one which is obtained by the SRC design code of Japan, Europe, Korea, USA and Belarus and the simplified method. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the inelastic behavior of CFCT stub column and evaluate the confinement effect of infilled concrete.

      • Rat의 복강내에 투여한 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid 제형이 장기에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        For more effective intraperitoneal chemotherapy, the authers made 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid composite disks(FU-PGA disks) with 5-fluorouracil and polyglycolic acid, a biodegradable polymer. We inserted the FU-PGA disk into the peritoneal cavites of Sprague-Dawley male rats, the control and three experimental groups; one FU-PGA disk insert group(300mg/kg), two FU-PGA disk insert group(600mg/kg), and three FU-PGA disk insert group(900mg/kg). The control group received a similar number of PGA disk inserts. A pharmacokinetic study was performed to measure the 5-fluorouracil concentration in the peritoneal fluid, blood, and tissues(liver, kidney and heart) at 24 hours, 72hours and 168 hours after insertion of the FU-PGA disk. Light and electron microscopic studies were done. The results were as follows: 1) The number of white blood cells and platelets decreased after FU-PGA insertion. The degree was proportional to the duration and amounts inserted. The change in the number of red blood cells varied slightly. 2) Light microscopically, slight changes were noted at 168 hours in the 3 disk insert group (900mg/kg). Mild fatty change and hepatocyte degeneration around the central veins of the liver were noted, with vacuolar degeneration in the proximal convoluted tubules of the kidney. 3) Electron microscopically,the liver showed focal increases of lipid droplets in the hepatocytes, and irregular nuclear membrane with focal nucleolar segregation of the fibrillar and granular elements. Also the double membranous structure of the hepatocytes and Kupffer cells was widened with bleb formation. The kidney showed wide separation of the nuclear double membrane in the proximal convoluted tubular cells and mesangial cells, with vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the proximal convoluted tubular cells, at 72 hours and 168 hours in the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. The heart showed focal loss of cristae,vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. In conclusion, despite the large amont of FU-PGA inserted, the histopathological changes in the liver, kidney and heart were slight, and consonant with the very low amount of 5-fluorouracil concentrations detected in the liver, kidney and heart. The above results suggest that the FU-PGA composite can serve as a new device for releasing drugs in a controlled manner and easily targeted to intraperitoneal organs. This device can improve the efficacy of intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric cancer.

      • Cu_2-xCd_xTe-CdTe Heterojunction에 의한 태양전지 제작 및 그 특성 연구

        N-type single crystals of "CdTe : I"and "CdTe : In"were grown by bridgmann method and studied on their basic characteristics, i. e. lattics constants and energy band gap were 6.48 A˚, 1.44eV. Also, electrical resistivity, carrier mobility, and carrier concentration were about 10^-2Ω-cm, 300∼400㎠/V sec and about 10^17/㎤∼10^18/㎤. So, above characteristics were satisfied sufficiently to make the solar cell devices. Next, Cu_(2-x)Cd_xTe-CdTe Heterojunction solar cells were made by chemical reaction that was replaced Cd ions of the CdTe crystal to Cu ions of coporous solution at the temperature 95℃, during the 2-minute. Also, their fundamental properties, i.e. J-V characteristics, Voc(open circuit voltage)and J_sc(closed circuit current)vs. photon flux density, Load characteristics and V_oc and J_sc vs. photon wavelength were measured. The resulting efficiency were about 5% according to the photon flux density and about 2.75% by Load characteristics. The Load characteristics were compared to si-solar cells that efficiency was 4.30%. So, we conclude that the Cu_(2-x)Cd_xTe-CdTe Heterojuntion solar cell is excellent one, if we should develop their technology to be made mass product.

      • 亂視軸度의 精密矯正에 關한 理論的考察

        The first accurate description of astigmatism as much as creaeted to Thomas Young in 1800. George Biddle Airy, in 1825, found that he has required a compound lens to correct the two principal foci of his eyes and discribed the construction of the first sphero-cylindrical lens. When the astigmatism is present in the eye, a blur circle will be formed on the retina. Due to non-sphericity of the cornea which is the chief refracting element of the eye's optical system, some degree of astigmatism is almost invariably encountered. Normally the cornea is not truly spherical but is the toridal in shape, so that the curvature in one meridian is different from that in a meridian at right angles to it. Thus incident light entering the eye will not come to a point focus but will form two line foci. The basic correction for astigmatism consists of the cylindrical power which equalizes the discrepancy between the two prinaipal mericdians. However, experience has demonstrated that this simple optical principle cannot be employed without qualification and judgement due to the effect upon image size and previous adaptation. Where cylinders apparently cannot be worn or where mixed astigmatism has been found and the patient show no preference for the cylindrical correction, the asthenopia may be relieved by the relaxation of the accommodation which the patient has been using to place the circle of lease confusion upon the retina.

      • CFT 기둥-보 接合部의 開發을 위한 基礎的 硏究

        The concrete filled circular tubular(CFT) structures have an excellent deformational capacity and increase in the load carrying capacities due to the reinforcement for local buckling in steel tube. And the confinement of steel tube bring the increasement of the strength of infilled concrete. The concentration of stress is occurred at panel zone in the connections of concrete filled circular tubular column to steel H-beam, The external diaphragm and the opening one have been studied as the reinforcing method of connections in Japan where many earthquakes have continued. Japan's design code of the external diaphragm which is ease to fill the concrete to the column has continually changed since it established. Because this code is not established in our country where the construction market will soon completely open, royalty must be paid for using the technique of other country. Therefore, this paper provides the results of study on the connections of Concrete Filled Tubular(CFT) column to beam by simplified models. The internal stiffening is the method which is reinforced by longitudinal ribs or studs bolts attached around the panel zone between the beam and CFT column connections. The important parameters of this paper are the infilled concrete and the thickness variation of the column panel zone. The strength and stiffness of each connection types are compared with those of ring stiffenr type. The purposed of this paper is to suggest the basic data for the non-diaphragm connection.

      • 金屬眼鏡테의 鍍金에 關한 考察

        Spectacle frames are manufactured from either plastic or metals-usually nickel-silver, monel and high-nickel. The ratio of metal to plastic frames varies with fashion trends. At this writing, it appears that 70 to 80 percent of the frames are of the metal variety. A fairly large percentage of these are gold plated to achieve a yellowish finish. The rest either are nickel, chromium or rhodium plated to realize a white finish. Manufacturers of optical frames started to switch from goldfilled to electroplated gold during the mid-1960s, primarily for cost savings. At that time, they deposited 2~5㎛ of a bright nickel on the nickel-silver substrate to yield a quality finish. After the nickel deposit, the frames were preplated with a gold strike and the gold electroplated topcoat was applied. usually at a thickness of 3 to 5 ㎛. This thickness was sufficient to prevent attack through the gold to the base metal as a result of perspiration or cosmetic by the user. However, towards the mid-1970s, gold thickness sometimes was reduced to less than 1 ㎛ due to the high price of the metal. Pitting of the substrate resulting from perspiration or cosmetic became fairly common, especially in areas where humidity and temperatures were high. Some manufacturers did increase the total gold Thickness to overcome these problems, whereas others chose duplex plating of palladidm-gold alloy topcoated with a layer of hard acid gold to achieve the final desired color. Still others currently are evaluating organic coatings. Many optical frame manufacturers supply goods in a slightly pinkish flesh tone. Because these colors cannot be attained with the acid hard gold baths, these manufacturers must utilized color gold for the final desired tone. Again, the thickness of these color golds is less than 0.2 ㎛ which means they give the final color, and afford corrosion protection and wear resistance.

      • ISO 9000 품질시스템 2000년 개정판에 대한 효율적인 대응방안 고찰

        개정 규격으로의 전환에 있어 무엇보다 선행되어야 할 과제는 교육·훈련이라고 할 수 있다. 관련 연구논문에서 조사된 바로는 인증 유지에 대한 개선 방안에서 최고경영자의 역할에 대한 중요성이 특히 강조되었다. 따라서 개정되는 ISO 9000:2000 규격에서도 최고 경영자의 역할이 증대되기 때문에 교육·훈련은 최고경영자는 물론이고, 추진 담당자와 전 조직원을 대상으로 반드시 이루어져야 한다. 기존 품질시스템 인증기업, 품질시스템 인증 추진을 계획하고 있는 기업의 경우 개정 규격으로의 전환이 자체적으로 어렵다고 판단되면, 벤치마킹이나 외부의 도움으로 개정 규격으로의 전환을 시행할 수 있겠다. 그러나 이 경우에 있어서도 자칫 회사에 맞지 않는 시스템 구축이 이루어질 수 있으므로 충분한 준비기간을 거쳐 회사 체질에 맞는 품질경영 시스템을 구축·정착시키지 않으면 안될 것이다.

      • 한국인의 각막에 관한 연구

        As the results of measurement of the radius of corneal curvature by keratometry for the right eye of 100 subjects, the steep meridian radius is 7.21㎜ to 8.27㎜ and flat meridian is 7.45㎜ to 8.65㎜, for the left eye the steep meridian radius is 7.30㎜ to 8.35㎜, and flat meridian is 7.45㎜ to 8.72㎜. The mean value of radius of corneal curvature is 7.8㎜ for night eye, 7.8㎜ for left eye. The results of measurement of P-value by topography, it is ranged from 0.45 to 0.91 for the night eye, 0.55 to 0.90 for the left eye, mean value is 0.756 for right eye, 0.735 for left eye respectively. That means the corneal shape is ellipses. The corneal thickness is measured 0.69㎜ 10°degree to the nasal, 0.76㎜ 20°degree to the nasal, 0.66㎜ 10°degree to the temporal, 0.72㎜ 20° degree to the temporal from the visual axis and 0.60㎜ at the central position. The horizontal size of corneal is 11.34㎜ for the night eye, 11.373㎜ for left eye. Those data can be used for contact lens design and fitting.
