      • Comparison of performances of AnypJex 2 HPV HR, Cobas 4800 HPV Test, and the Hybrid Capture 2

        Background: The Anyplcx 1I1-IIlV I-m (Seegcnc, Seoul, Korea) is a new multiplex real-time peR assay for screening cervical cancer and is designed to detect 14 high-risk hum:m papillomaviruses (hrHPVs) along with all the genotypeinformation in a single tube. The aim of this st ud)· is to evaluate the performance of An}``plex II HPV HR (A nyplex_HR) in comparison to that of Cob as 4800 HPV (Cobas_ 4BOO) and Hybrid capture 2 (i-IC2). Methods: The performance of Anyplex_HR for hrH!>\`` genotype detection was retrospectively evaluated against HC2 and Cobas, at the National Cancer Center using 400 cervical swab samples. All discrepant samples were confirmed by peR with type specific primers followed by SCi:jucncing. Results: Overall agreement and kappa value of Anyplex_IIR with Cobas_ 4Boo were 98.0 % and 0.96, respectively.Agreement between two the assays and the corresponding kappa values for HPV 16, HPV IB, and other hrHPVs were 99.5%. 99.8%, and 9B.8%. and 0.98, 0.96. and 0.97. respectively. Agreement and kappa values of I-IC2 with Cobas_ 4800 were 95.25% and 0.91. HI``V positivity of Anyplex_HR and Cobas_ 4800 in low-grade squamous intra epilheliallesion (LS IL)Jhigh-grade squamous inlraepithcliallesion (HSIL) samples m:ltchcd. Both HPV _I-IR and Cobas_ 4800 showed excellent results in the precision test Conclusions: AI1)``Plex_HR is comparative to Cobas_ 4800 and IIC2 for cervical cancer screening. II may prove more useful for follow-up testing and patient management by providing genotyping information beyond HPV 16 and HPV 18.
