Evaluation of Ambiguity Estimator between Reference Stations
Yasuto Gomi,Reiji Tominaga,Nobuaki Kubo,Akio Yasuda 한국항해항만학회 2006 한국항해항만학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2 No.-
In order to apply the network adjustment, the correct ambiguities between each of reference stations must be calculated. This paper focused on the comparison of ambiguity resolution between the reference stations. Three hours test data with different baseline length from 20 km to 60 km have been analyzed. The results show that the time-to-fix between 20 km and 40 km is typically under 1 minute. However, over 60km baseline, the time-to-fix performance degrades.

Heavy rainfall during 5-8 July 2018 caused numerous debris avalanches and debris flows in western Japan. One of the most seriously damaged areas in this event is underlain by the Late Cretaceous Takada Rhyolites in the southern part of Hiroshima Prefecture. I made GIS analysis, field investigation, and XRD analysis to clarify the geological and geomorphological background of landslide sources in the rhyolite area. A total of 845 landslide scars were plotted from aerial photographs and most of them were on 10-30 m horizontal distance from ridge lines. The 45hr-cumulated rainfall before the landslide event from 05:00 to 06:00 on 7 July was 550-750 mm. Landslide densities increase up to 38 /km2 with increase of the 45hr-cumulative rainfall. In the study area, landslide source areas exposed thick layers of weathered rock with red clayey material, on which 1-m-thick soil layers slid down. A quarry in the rhyolitic area showed such reddish weathered rock near the ground surface was on a high-angle vein with altered rhyolite (5 m thick). XRD patterns indicated that rock samples along the vein include halloysite near the ground surface, smectite and halloysite at 10-50 m underground, and smectite below 50 m underground. This vertical change in clay mineral composition suggests the reddish clayey rock is made by weathering after hydrothermal alteration. Veins with clayey rock developed in the rhyolite area may inhibit groundwater flow and store abundant water to trigger landslides close to ridges during prolonged heavy rainfall.
Development of Pipe Inspection Robot using Ring-type Laser
Yasuto Tamura,Ichirota Kanai,Kazuki Yamada,Hun-ok Lim 제어로봇시스템학회 2016 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2016 No.10
This paper describes the robot capable of inspecting a pipe. The developed robot is composed of three bodies, six legs, a laser range finder, a ring-type laser, and a CCD camera. The six legs are composed of three worm gears that are arranged at an angle of 120 degrees to run inside pipes of different diameters. The robot is designed with two joints to change the direction in pipe junctions, and the robot can measure a fore pipe shape using the laser range finder. The ring-type laser and the CCD camera are installed in the front the robot to detect and evaluate defects of a pipe. The CCD camera takes an image of the ring-type laser light in a pipe, and defects in a pipe are detected and evaluated from a break of the ring-type light by the image processing. We verified the effectiveness of the robot through the movement experiment and the defect inspection experiment.

A TIN, Triagulated Irregular Network, based topographic modeling method and a distributed rainfall-runoff model using the topographic representation is presented. In the TIN based topographic representation, a watershed basin is modeled as a set of contiguous non-overlapping triagular facets : the watershed basin is subdivided according to streamlines to deal with water movement one-dimensionally ; and each partitioned catchment is approximated to a slope element having a quasi-three-dimensional shape by using cubic spline functions. On an approximated slope element, water movement is represented by combined surface-subsurface kinematic wave equations considering a change of slope gradient and slope width. By using the distributed rainfall-runoff model, the effects of spatial variability of soil properties on runoff response are examined.
