      • A Research for 3D Virtual Simulation Technology Application in Logistics System

        The logistics system is important portion to the production and distribution fields and whole supply chain. The rationalization of logistics is one of the most significant methods to increase the productivity of supply chain. More attention is paid to the research of design and simulation of logistics system progressively. This paper mainly discuss key technology of simulation in logistics system, Computer realization of logistics system 3D virtual simulation, and the 3D multimedia technology in internet application in logistics simulation, introduces international leading 3D virtual logistics system simulation software.

        Effective synthesis to fabricate a giant dielectric-constant material CaCu3Ti4O12 via solid state reactions

        In this study, we effectively synthesized a giant dielectric-constant material CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) by using a solid-state reaction method that was composed of two main chemical reactions. Comparing with typical calcining conditions, our procedures are much less energy- and time-consuming. When preparing our CCTO, we applied a momentarily high temperature heating at the end of the calcination, then followed it by a typical sintering process. We found this additional heating converts the otherwise mixed-phase products into a pure phase and the CCTO samples prepared this special way possess a large dielectric constant, up to 19,000.         Non-interest Income, Profit, and Risk Efficiencies: Evidence from Commercial Banks in China

        Chinese commercial banks are transforming their activities into more non-interest income businesses under a highly regulated financial system. This paper investigates the effects of this transformation on profit and risk efficiencies. We find that commission and fee income sig- nificantly reduce risk efficiency due to the circumvention of the regulation on deposit interest rate and the assumption of risk that should have been borne by customers. In terms of trad- ing income, it significantly reduces profit efficiency due to the upper limit of the loan-deposit ratio, the lack of investment channels and low returns of bond markets. The regulatory authorities are supposed to further liberalize the banking industry and grant banks more rights.

      • Genomic Screening for Targets Regulated by Berberine in Breast Cancer Cells

        Berberine, a common isoquinoline alkaloid, has been shown to possess anti-cancer activities. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms are still not completely understood. In the current study, we investigated the effects of berberine on cell growth, colony formation, cell cycle distribution, and whether it improved the anticancer efficiency of cisplatin and doxorubicin in human breast cancer estrogen receptor positive (ER+) MCF-7 cells and estrogen receptor negative (ER-) MDA-MB-231 cells. Notably, berberine treatment significantly inhibited cell growth and colony formation in the two cell lines, berberine in combination with cisplatin exerting synergistic growth inhibitory effects. Accompanied by decreased growth, berberine induced G1 phase arrest in MCF-7 but not MDA-MB-231 cells. To provide a more detailed understanding of the mechanisms of action of berberine, we performed genome-wide expression profiling of berberine-treated cells using cDNA microarrays. This revealed that there were 3,397 and 2,706 genes regulated by berberine in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells, respectively. Fene oncology (GO) analysis identified that many of the target genes were involved in regulation of the cell cycle, cell migration, apoptosis, and drug responses. To confirm the microarray data, qPCR analysis was conducted for 10 selected genes based on previously reported associations with breast cancer and GO analysis. In conclusion, berberine exhibits inhibitory effects on breast cancer cells proliferation, which is likely mediated by alteration of gene expression profiles.

      • Preferential Induction of CYP1A1 over CYP1B1 in Human Breast Cancer MCF-7 Cells after Exposure to Berberine

        Estrogens are considered the major breast cancer risk factor, and the carcinogenic potential of estrogens might be attributed to DNA modification caused by derivatives formed during metabolism. $17{\beta}$-estradiol ($E_2$), the main steroidal estrogen present in women, is metabolized via two major pathways: formation of 2-hydroxyestradiol (2-OH $E_2$) and 4-hydroxyestradiol ($4-OH\;E_2$) through the action of cytochrome P450 (CYP) 1A1 and 1B1, respectively. Previous reports suggested that $2-OH\;E_2$ has putative protective effects, while $4-OH\;E_2$ is genotoxic and has potent carcinogenic activity. Thus, the ratio of $2-OH\;E_2/4-OH\;E_2$ is a critical determinant of the toxicity of $E_2$ in mammary cells. In the present study, we investigated the effects of berberine on the expression profile of the estrogen metabolizing enzymes CYP1A1 and CYP1B1 in breast cancer MCF-7 cells. Berberine treatment produced significant induction of both forms at the level of mRNA expression, but with increased doses produced 16~ to 52~fold greater induction of CYP1A1 mRNA over CYP1B1 mRNA. Furthermore, berberine dramatically increased CYP1A1 protein levels but did not influence CYP1B1 protein levels in MCF-7 cells. In conclusion, we present the first report to show that berberine may provide protection against breast cancer by altering the ratio of CYP1A1/CYP1B1, could redirect $E_2$ metabolism in a more protective pathway in breast cancer MCF-7 cells.

      • Measurement of neutron cross sections and resonance parameters of <sup>169</sup>Tm below 100 eV

        <P>The neutron total cross-sections of thulium (<SUP>169</SUP>Tm) were measured in the neutron energy region from 0.01 eV to 100 eV by using the time-of-flight method at the Pohang Neutron Facility, which consists of an electron linac, a water-cooled tantalum target with a water moderator, and a 12 m time of flight path. Two thulium plates with different thicknesses were used for the neutron transmission measurement. The background level was determined by using a notch-filter of Co, In, and Cd sheets. The present measurement was compared with the previous ones, and a new set of resonance parameters of <SUP>169</SUP>Tm isotope was obtained from the transmission rate by using the SAMMY code, with a comparison with the recommended parameters by Mughabghab.</P>

        Facile Fabrication of Extremely Small CoNi/C Core/Shell Nanoparticles for Efficient Microwave Absorber

        CoNi magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) and hybrid architectures have attracted tremendous attention from numerous applications. In this study, a facile approach based on one-step metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) was developed to fabricate CoNi/C core/shell NPs with an extremely small core size of ~3.7 nm and an ultrathin shell thickness of 1–3 nm. Only 10 wt.% CoNi/C core/shell NP-filled composites with thickness of 1.6 mm exhibit an optimal reflection loss value of -25.7 dB and an absorbing bandwidth value up to 6.2 GHz. The extremely small core/shell NPs are demonstrated to have enhanced electromagnetic parameters (i.e., complex permittivity and permeability), reflection loss and broadened effective absorption bandwidth, as compared to the relatively larger NPs. The superior microwave absorbing performance should be attributed to the increased specific area with enriched interfacial polarization. The as-synthesized extremely small CoNi/C core/shell NPs are expected to be a fascinating candidate for efficient microwave absorption material with lightweight and thin thickness.

        Continuous Conversion of Rice Starch Hydrolysate to 2-keto-D-gluconic Acid by Arthrobacter globiformis C224

        A continuous conversion process of rice starch hydrolysate to 2-keto-D-gluconic acid (2KGA) by Arthrobacter globiformis C224 was developed. Its feasibility for industrial application was also evaluated. Results showed that the initial cell concentration exceeding 1.25 g/L met the continuous 2KGA production at a stable dilution rate and media composition, while the dilution rate and feeding glucose concentration had a significant effect on 2KGA production performance. The optimal operating parameters were obtained as: 0.090/h of dilution rate and 171.0 g/L of feeding glucose concentration. Under these conditions, the steady state had a produced 2KGA concentration of 124.74 g/L, average volumetric productivity of 11.23 g/L/h,and yield of 0.97 g/g. In conclusion, continuous 2KGA production by the A. globiformis C224 strain would be a superior industrial process for the production of 2KGA in terms of its high 2KGA productivity and yield.

The paper establishes the mathematical model of the stochastic inventory system, and then the simulation strategy is put forward by means of the discrete event system simulation technology and the simulation model is established. Therefore, the best inventory strategy is applied with the method of system simulation.

        A Study on the Utilization Model of Social Network Service in China

        온라인 산업의 발달과 스마트폰 보급의 확산에 따라 기존의 웹사이트가 일방적으로 제공하는 정보 또는 서비스를 이용하는 형태를 탈피하여 직접 참여하고 공유하는 웹 2.0 패러다임 환경이 확산되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 중국 온라인 시장에서의 소셜 네트워크 서비스가 마케팅 측면에서 어떠한 기능과 역할을 할 수 있는지에 대한 가능성을 탐색하고, 중국진출 한국기업에 중국 소셜 네트워크 서비스의 효과적인 적용방안을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 대표적인 중국 소셜네크워크 서비스(Renren, Weibo, Baidu, Taobao)를 활용한 적용모델을 제시하고 그 활용가능성을 탐색해 보았다. 본 연구는 중국진출을 계획하는 한국기업들에게 중국의 소셜네트워크 서비스를 활용한 마케팅 활동에 도움을 주는 것을 목적으로 한다. The recent development of the online industry and a wider use of smartphones has brought about a new paradigm of Web 2.0, where customers participate firsthand in collecting and sharing information and services on the internet. They no longer depend on websites that unilaterally provide them with information and services. The paper examines what functions and roles social network service can perform in marketing and suggests a set of guidelines for the effective use of social setwork service in China. To that purpose, present a model employing a group of service networks such as renren.com, weibo.com, Baidu.com and Taobao.com and examine whether the model is applicable in the market. The purpose of this paper is expected to help Korean companies perform their marketing activities via Chinese social network services.
