The research examines the logic of the patriarchal society that runs throughout the narrative of the television series The Walking Dead. Males in the zombified world often strike out the living dead through violence, which affects people’s sometimes unethical and deadly behaviors toward other human beings. The family and community also take advantage of such masculine violence for their survival. The protagonist of the series, Rick Grimes, becomes the head of the family and survivor group by eliminating or winning over competitors for the name of the father. Rick’s son, Carl, stands up for his biological father among other father figures, supporting Rick’s patrilineal system. Women in the community need toughness and masculinity to adapt to the changed circumstances; mother figures in Rick’s family die providing house work, which is especially undervalued in a zombie apocalypse. Carl has to decide not between his mother and his father in an Oedipal triad but between fathers as a consequence of his mother’s absence. The logic of patriarchy takes up the main narrative of the series, and the longing for the missing Rick ultimately proves the father’s symbolic authority in his absence. (Kunsan National University)
Computation of serrated trailing edge flow and noise using a hybrid zonal RANS-LES

The evaluation of a zonal RANS-LES approach is documented for the prediction of broadband noise generated by the flow past unmodified and serrated airfoil trailing edges at a high Reynolds number. A multi-domain decomposition is considered, where the acoustic sources are resolved with a LES sub-domain embedded in the RANS domain. A stochastic vortex method is used to generate synthetic turbulent perturbations at the RANS-LES interface. The simulations are performed with a general-purpose unstructured control-volume code FLUENT. The far-field noise is calculated using the aeroacoustic analogy of Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings. The results of the simulation are validated through the full-scaled wind turbine acoustic measurements. It is found that the present approach is adequate for predicting noise radiation of serrated trailing edge flow for low noise rotor system.
The Effect of Creative Potential on Innovation Behavior: focusing on Design Thinking

Purpose: The purpose of study is to examine the effects of design thinking-based programs on creative potential, creativity and innovation behavior, as well as the mediating effect of creative potential and creativity. Research design, data and methodology: The study was conducted through a four-step process. First, the previous studies were investigated. Second, a total of three experts were reviewed to improve and supplement the program. Third, a workshop-based design thinking program was conducted four times. Fourth, the effectiveness of the program was reviewed through data analysis. Results: The design thinking-based program was found to have a statistically positive effect on creative potential, creativity, and innovation behavior. As another hypothesis of this study, by applying the design thinking-based program, it was statistically confirmed that creative potential has a direct, indirect effect, and a mediating effect on innovation behavior. Conclusions: These results provide usability for design thinking in terms of direction for creativity-based creative problem solving and innovation. Finally, design thinking can be used to develop and utilize new services and discover new ideas, especially improve the competitiveness of the company. In addition, it means that the level of innovation action can vary depending on the level of the individual's creative potential.
Design Requirements of Dry Storage Inspection System for CANDU Spent Fuel Storage Integrity

Spent fuel from the Wolsong CANDU reactor has been stored in above-ground dry storage canisters. Wolsong concrete dry storage canisters (silos) are around 6 m high, 3 m in outside diameter, and have shielding comprised of around 1 m of concrete and 10 mm of steel liner. The storage configuration is such that a number of fuel bundles are placed inside a cylindrical steel container known as a Fuel Basket. The canisters hold up to 9 baskets each that are 304 L stainless steel, around 42” in diameter, 22” in height, and hold 60 fuel bundles each. The operating license for the dry storage canisters needs to be extended. It is desired to perform in-situ inspections of the fuel baskets to very their condition is suitable for retrieval (if necessary) and that the temperature within the fuel baskets is as predicted in the canister’s design basis. KHNP-CNL (Canadian Nuclear Lab.) has set-up the design requirements to perform the in-situ inspections in the dry storage canisters. This Design Requirements applies to the design of the dry storage canister inspection system.
Analysis of Basic Characteristics for Spent Fuel

The spent fuel is classified based on the arrangement of fuel rods, which is considered the primary characteristic data for selecting nuclear fuel. The reason for prioritizing the classification by fuel rod arrangement is that it has the greatest physical impact on the production, supply, operation, reactor type, rack size within the containment vessel, and specifications for the basket in the future dry storage system. Additionally, as mentioned earlier, various meanings of nuclear fuel types are distinguished according to the arrangement of fuel rod. The burnup and cooling period ranges are also important factors in the characterization analysis for the selection of spent fuel, the burnup range was set for both low and high burnup ranges and the cooling period is necessary to consider the reliability during handling of nuclear fuel thermal distribution within the storage system
