        종합병원 국제진료 간호사의 업무 중요도, 수행도 및 직무만족도

        Purpose: This study aimed to understand how international health care nurses working at general hospitals across the country rate various parts of their job in terms of importance and what are the factors that determine their job satisfaction. Methods: A descriptive study was conducted on 77 nurses in charge of international patient care. The study duration was more than a year. Data were collected using a self-reported questionnaire and analysed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25. Results: The average of task importance was 3.75±0.60. The task category “Pre-consultation nursing management” was rated the most important at 4.30±0.64 while “Medical document management” received the lowest score, 3.36±0.85. Among individual tasks, “Checking patient schedules” at 4.44±0.85 scored the highest while the least important task was “Acquiring and managing the equipment necessary for medical treatment”, at 2.95±0.94. In job performance, 84.4% of the nurses performed “Patient counseling” and 80.5% performed “Pre-visit consultation, test reservation, and preparation guide” almost daily. For job satisfaction, “Display of professional competence” scored the highest and “Recognition from the organization and professional achievements” had the lowest score. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop guidelines and training materials for international health care nurses.

        ESFWN-based Event Structure Frame Type Classifier for Event Structure-dependent Inferencing

        The current study aims to introduce the ESFWN-based Event Structure Frame Type (ESF type) Classifier for English verbs in text. It is a component of the Event Structure-based Inference Generation (ESIG) system we designed to generate event structure-related inferences. The classifier annotates a proper ESF type to a verb in a given sentence using the Event Structure Frame-annotated WordNet (ESFWN) and the Word Sense Disambiguation algorithm named EWISER. The advantage of the classifier is that because its verb classification depends on ESFWN, we only need word sense disambiguation, which maps the target verb to its proper wordnet synset. Given the WordNet synset for the target verb, the classifier annotates the ESF type corresponding to the synset. The F1-score of the classifier is 84.71%. (Seoul National University)

        This study explores what parents think about children’s happiness and the parental role . To this end, their thoughts about children’s happiness and the parental role were analyzed. Data was collected and analyzed with the grounded theory approach by Strauss and Corbin (1990) based on in-depth interviews with parents. As a result, the children’s happiness was ‘Causal conditions: Social problems, experiences from the past, social perceptions’, ‘Key phenomena: playing with children, nurturing good and righteous personality’, ‘Action/Interaction Strategy: Brining financial wealth, building an intimate relationship with family members, building an intimate relationship with friends, giving a chance to take a challenge’, ‘Results: Leading something they want to do, achieving goals and succeeding, possessing something that has been desired and satisfying the needs, building a relationship with someone they like,’ This study has significance as it provided an understanding and set the direction for children’s happiness and the role of parents.

      • An Influence that the Activities of Plant-utilized Korean Traditional Play have on Preschoolers’ Scientific Inquiry Abilities and Environmental Sensitivity

        This research to examine the influence that the activities of the Korean traditional play that utilizes plants have on the scientific inquiry abilities and environmental sensitivity of children aged 5 and under. This study targeted 20 five-year-old children of daycare center E located in city K as an experimental group and 20 five-year-old children of daycare center E as a comparative group. The activities of the Korean traditional play utilizing plants were applied to the experimental group, and the comparative group was asked to look into plants and share ideas. Among the research methods are the assessment tool for scientific inquiry abilities developed by Hong-Jah Cho (2015) and the tools for environmental sensitivity developed by Eun-Jeong Kim (2013) based upon the studies of Hungerford. Research results identified that compared to the comparative group, the experimental group that experienced plants-utilize Korean traditional play had more positive impact on scientific inquiry abilities and environmental sensitivity. Such outcomes of this research carry significance in that when the activities that utilize plant-based Korean traditional play are applied to childhood education fields, this can be utilized as the effective teaching and learning methods that are conducive to scientific inquiry abilities and environmental sensitivity.

      • Difficulties in Instructional Consulting Experienced by Kindergarten Teachers

        In the current situation that desirable instructional consulting has not been settled in kindergarten, this study was conducted in order to find difficulties experienced by kindergarten teachers in the process of consulting. For this purpose, we collected data through participant observation and in depth interviews with 3 kindergarten teachers during the period from March to June, 2011. According to results obtained through these procedures, difficulties experienced by the kindergarten teachers participating in instructional consulting were confusion between conventional instructional SupervlslOn and instructional consulting, inability to request substantial contents for instructional consulting, and insufficient prelirninary exchange between teacher consultant on the contents of instructional consulting.

      • An Empirical Search for the Process of Change in Young Children's Living Pattern in Kindergarten Resulting from the Practice of a Comprehensive Multi-cultural Education Program

        This study developed a ‘comprehensive multi -cultural education program' for young children from both multi -cultural families and ordinary ones and applied it in the field of ear!y childhood education, and close!y observed young children’s living pattern in kindergarten and how the children from multi-cultural and ordinary families are changed by the multi-cultural education program. This study developed a comprehensive multi-cu!tural education program for early childhood educational institutions, and executed it to both multi -cultural family children and ordinary children at a kindergarten where multi-cultural family children were attending, and explored the process of change in the children’s living pattern through paπicipant observation and in-depth interview for 24 times during the period from March 2009 to February 2010. Through this study, we expect to be able to provide programs for multi-cultural family children to lead a harmonious life with their peers from ordinary families and to grow into healthy society members. Furthermore, comprehensive multi-cultural education programs may be utilized for teaching and learning in the field of early childhood education for providing field teachers with useful information on multi-cultural education.

        An Analysis of the Effects of University Freshmen's Extracurricular Programs for the Public Value

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for the operation of the extracurricular program by examining whether it is effective for university life adjustment and student competency improvement accord-ing to the motivation to participate in the extracurricular program and the participation in the extracurricular program. Method: As for the data collection, a survey was conducted with freshmen in the natural science department of O University O located in in the metropolitan area. 1. To analyze as to whether the motivation for participation in the extracurricular program has an effect on the university life adjustment, the validity of the motivation to participate and the university life adaptation fac-tors was verified, then the inter-individual effect was verified. 2. Group statistics were analyzed to analyze as to whether the participation in the extracurricular program has an effect on the university freshmen's adaptation to the university life. 3. To verify the effect of participation in the extracurricular program and the student competency enhance-ment, the O University’s 5L Core Competency Diagnostic Tool(2021) was used, and the competency evaluation scores for the 4 competencies except for L3 were compared on an ex ante and ex post basis. Results: The motivation to participate in the extracurricular program for Research Question 1 was verified to have an effect on the university freshmen's adaptation to the university life, and consequently, it was apparent that motivation is more important before publicity or program improvement for the participation in extracurric-ular program. As a result of analysis as to whether to participate in the extracurricular program for Research Question 2 and the university life adjustment of freshmen, the participation in the extracurricular program was effective for all questions about university life adaptation. As a result of analyzing the effect of the extracurricular program for Research Question 3, it was apparent that the extracurricular program related to the auditory per-sonality competency L1, future learning competency L2, and job-based competency L3 was effective in enhancing the student competency, and it is considered that the extracurricular program related to the competency L5 needs to be improved for quality control to strengthen the student competency. Conclusion: This study was conducted with freshmen in the natural science department, and hence, there are limitations to generalizing to all university students. In the future studies, if factors such as segmentation by category and program learning efficacy are considered together, it will be possible to present a more specific way to activate the extracurricular program.

        Native and Nonnative English Speaking Teachers’ Feedback Beliefs and Practices

The present study investigates native and nonnative English teachers’ beliefs of teaching writing and giving feedback and how they give feedback to Korean EFL student writing. The data were collected from 74 English teachers (38 NESTs and 36 NNESTs) in order to examine their teaching methods of writing, feedback beliefs and their self-reported feedback practice. The survey responses were analyzed using a structured coding method (Saldana, 2009) and actual feedback points were analyzed using Analytic Model for Teacher Commentary (Ferris, 1995) and Error Categories (Ferris, 2012). The findings indicated that both groups of teachers considered teaching English writing and giving feedback to EFL students an integral part of students’writing and linguistic development. NESTs and NNESTs demonstrated comparable ways of giving feedback to student writing: 70% of their feedback was corrective feedback while 30% consisted of teacher commentaries. While teachers were cautious in giving content feedback avoiding teacher appropriation, they marked every error they saw on the students’ writing. The most salient differences emerged from the amounts of feedback they gave and the time spent on student writing. Based on the results obtained in this study, various instructional insights and implications for EFL teachers were discussed in the areas of teaching and giving more effective feedback. The current study warrants the necessity of implementing teacher training for both NESTs and NNESTs in Korean EFL settings.
