This article examines the necessity of bodiness education and the desirable directions of it as well as the meaning of bodiness itself. In spite of its importance, education of body and its significance was neglected in the curricula focusing on the mental aspects, intellect and moral virtues. Approaching bodiness and understanding it is a way to overcome the limits of intellectualism in education. Bodiness is the quality in which material, spirit, will and energy are harmoniously combined in a human body. This combination based on genetic information crosses over form and formless. When a human communicates with the world and gains knowledge, he or she acquires bodiness. Therefore, bodiness is what gives an individual uniqueness and identity. Bodiness of an individual is the foundation of the elements in his or her characteristics such as personality, virtues, intelligence, creativity, and team spirit. Therefore, approaching bodiness is the very first step of the pedagogy. As bodiness education is the pedagogy through body toward self-realization, self-expressiveness and creativity, it should have several designed starting points. First, bodiness education begins with an understanding of the nature of life. It should be the education of body and self, based on one’s own body. Second, bodiness education should be the education that develops the potentiality of the body through various experiences. One accomplishes the balance of body and mind through a well-developed body. Third, bodiness education is not limited within the physical body itself. It aims the forming process of a mind in which the unification of an individual and the universe is realized. Fourth, it should be a form of education that promotes the ability of self-organization in the students.

Sense of community and social identity effect on brand love: Based on the online communities of a luxury fashion brands

This study investigates the impacts of sense of community and social identity on brand love then its affect on brand advocacy on luxury online brand communities (OBC). It follows the stimulus– organism–response or the S–O–R framework wherein sense of community and social identity represent the stimuli element, while the brand love stands for the organism and lastly the response element is the brand advocacy. Mediating role of the sense of community between social identity and brand love has been also explored. Statistical results of structural equation modelling (SEM) through using AMOS indicate that both sense of community and social identity positively influence the brand love of the customers on OBCs’. Then with the help of these stimuli, the brand love has significant affect on the brand advocacy of the consumers. Mediating effect of the sense of community has been verified and results suggest both theoretical and managerial implications. Exploring the potential influence of the sense of community and social identity is in its infancy and denoting a vital contribution on literature and this paper offers relevant insights that managers could use to strengthen their marketing strategies on the OBCs’ setting.

Elision in Dangme

This paper examines elision in Dangme, a Kwa language spoken in parts of the Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta Regions of Ghana. The paper aims at accounting for vocalic, consonantal and syllabic deletions in Dangme. This study is formalized within the Autosegmental theoretical framework with tools like association lines linking segments to their CV tiers and also delinking tools showing segmental and syllabic deletions where applicable. The study shows that in Dangme, syllabic and segmental elision is realized within a lexical item, a morpheme or word boundary, and word finals. We further demonstrate that elision in Dangme is a morpho-phonological phenomenon as established in several other languages. Morphological factors that trigger elision in Dangme include compounding with specific reference to clause compounds, reduplication involving numerals and adjectival elements, and nominalization. Some specific pronominal objects and postpositions at morpheme finals also trigger segmental deletion. Elision in Dangme could be leftward or rightward at morpheme boundaries where either V₁ or V₂ could undergo elision depending on the contexts. The study also shows that, syllable deletion is realized in some compound names where either CV₁ or CV₂ may undergo elision. Compensatory lengthening is realized when CV₁ undergoes the elision process in such contexts.

A Morphosyntactic Analysis of Dangme Allusive Names

The paper investigates the morphosyntactic features of Dangme allusive names. Dangme belongs to the Kwa family of languages. It is spoken in two Regions of Ghana. As in other cultures, the people of Dangme consider naming as an important aspect of their culture. Allusive names are names based on ideas and beliefs of parents and family members. It is believed that allusive names also have elements of insinuation, and can reflect the mind and emotions of the namer (s) and also have an effect (positive or negative) on the named. This paper discussed one hundred and twenty (120) allusive names in Dangme. Data were collected from both primary and secondary sources. The primary data were collected from twenty one native speakers of Dangme through unstructured interviews. Data were analyzed using categorization and coding. It is to be noted that the morphological analysis revealed that Dangme allusive names have the form of single words, di-morphemic, phrase and clauses reduced to personal names. Syntactically, these sentential names can be simple, embedded or compound sentences which can function as declarative, interrogative and imperative sentences.

A Compartmented Microfluidic Reactor for Protein Modification Via Solid-phase Reactions - Semi-automated Examination of Two PEGylation Routes

Microfluidics has emerged as a relatively new scientific field enabling fast reaction times and low demands for reactants. Pursuing these advantages, a compartmented, microfluidic reactor was developed in our group which is suitable for the semi-automated processing of complex reaction cascades including solid phases. As one of the first application examples, we analyzed the influence of different reaction paths on the modification of a model protein in a solid-phase reaction. Extensive characterization experiments were performed: Amongst others, an organic phase was identified which is immiscible with water and compatible with the designated PEGylation reactions. Such organic solvents function as separation plugs for different water based reaction plugs within the microfluidic system. Mixing within the microfluidic system was investigated, in order to ensure an efficient solid-phase reaction. Subsequently, solid-phase PEGylation of the target protein was performed within the microfluidic system via two different reaction cascades. The longest reaction cascades comprised all reactions from particle activation, via protein immobilization and PEGylation to elution and consisted of seven steps. PEGylation in the reactor took place with comparable yields and results as in the control reaction outside the reactor. Due to the modularity, the presented reactor proves to be a versatile instrument for semi-automated reactions and parameter screening, being compatible with biological systems. It combines the advantages of closed channel systems like lab on a chip microfluidics with the flexibility and preparative scale sample volume of larger liquid handling stations.

본 연구는, 테오도르 슈토름이 콘스탄쩨 에스마르흐와 주고받은 서신(1844-1846)에서 자신의 이상적인 사랑을 구성하기 위해 이용했던 문학적 전형이라는 배경에서 시작한다. 이런 배경에서, 이들의 서신교환에서 남아 있는 30여 편의 시(詩) 중에서 대표적인 시들을 편지와 직접 관련하여 분석했다. 슈토름이 쓴 서신 속의 독백을 통해 시 텍스트의 맥락을 파악함으로써 서정시속에 전달되는 매우 흥미로운 이상적 사랑의 주요 관점들을 파악할 수 있다. 예의 저 전형들을 분석하여 정리해보면, 삶에 대한 슈토름의 확신 속에는 신분의 차이 및 교회를 통해 요구되는 관습을 거역하는 두 사람 간의 이상적인 사랑이 더 이상 존재하지 않는다는 결론이 일단 도출된다. 이것은 슈토름이 매우 경탄했던 칼 이머만의 소설 “뮌히하우젠”(1838/39), 혹은 그가 상세하게 논의한 중세의 아벨라르와 엘로이즈의 사랑 이야기에서도 드러난다. 그런 사랑보다는, 사랑하는 이들 자신이 느끼는 매우 개인적이고 토착적인 감정이 핵심으로 나타나며, 이런 점은 현대로한 발 다가서는 의미를 띤다. 이로써 슈토름이 자신의 결혼 생활과 다가올 모든 삶을 이루어갈 수 있다고 생각하는 근거로서의 견해가 매우 견고하지 않음을 의미하기도 한다. 감정의 약화나, 게다가 애정을 잃어버릴 수 있다는 엄청난 두려움은 작가의 심리속에서만 궁극적인 근거를 두고 있지만, 슈토름은 그의 모든 언어 구사능력을 동원하여 결국 그런 일시적인 감정에 뭔가 성스럽고 신비스러운 특성을 부여한다. 왜냐하면 슈토름에게 그런 감정은 단지 신앙체험으로서만 확실하고 충분한 것으로 보이는 것이다. 그렇기 때문에 사랑의 시가 드러내는 허구적 실제는 테오도르와 콘스탄쩨라는 신랑신부의 실제 삶을 현대적인 시적 사실주의의 의미에서 제한적으로만 흉내 낼 뿐이다. 사랑에 대한 과도한 욕구를 낳은 뿌리는 대부분 숨겨진 채로 남기 때문이다. 말하자면 나르시즘의 방식으로 ‘사랑받는’ 여인에게는 매우 문제가 될 수 있는 결과도 마찬가지이다. 절대적이고 영구히 남는 애정에 대한 그의 ‘이상적인’ 사랑에는 지배자의 태도가 있다. 이런 태도는 견고하지 못한 남성자아를 안정시키기 위한 것일 뿐이며, 오늘날 독자의 눈으로는 남성과 여성 간의 관계에 있어서 현대적이라고 주장한 이상에 불과하다고 부인될 수밖에 없다. 예의 저 이상이란, 무미건조하고 황량하다고 여겨진 현실에 대한 반대개념으로서만 빛을 발할 수 있는 것이다.
