Deterministic Throw Model for Longitudinal Rear-End Vehicle to Cyclist Collisions
Condrea Ovidiu Andrei,Togănel George Radu,Truscă Daniel Dragos 한국자동차공학회 2021 International journal of automotive technology Vol.22 No.1
In this paper a throw distance model for vehicle-cyclist collisions is presented, based on a deterministic approach with a cyclist mass point representation. Vehicle-cyclist collisions are characterized by three distinct impacts, which determine the entirety of the cyclist’s kinematics, also throw distance implicitly. Cyclist kinematics are analyzed by breaking down the motion into multiple phases and assessing the corresponding distance travelled by the cyclist for each phase. The model takes into account massic and cyclist launch parameters, as well as road declivity and ground friction. The verification of the model was carried out in two methods. First, model output data was compared with the results of three real-scale crashtests performed in a rear impact typology. Secondly, a multibody model was generated for two of the carried-out crash-tests and used to simulate collisions at different vehicle impact velocities (4.1 ~ 27.8 m/s). Input data for the model was extracted from each simulation and used to compare the results yielded by the model and the multibody software. A comparison between model output data and available field data was also undertaken.

Currently, hospitals and medical practices have a large amount of unstructured information, gathered in time at each ward or practice by physicians in a wide range of medical branches. The data requires processing in order to be able to extract relevant information, which can be used to improve the medical system. It is useful for a physician to have access to a patient's entire medical history when he or she is in an emergency situation, as relevant information can be found about the patient's problems such as: allergies to various medications, personal history, or hereditary collateral conditions etc. If the information exists in a structured form, the detection of diseases based on specific symptoms is much easier, faster and with a higher degree of accuracy. Thus, physicians may investigate certain pathological profiles and conduct cohort clinical trials, including comparing the profile of a particular patient with other similar profiles that already have a confirmed diagnosis. Involving information technology in this field will change so the time which the physicians should spend in front of the computer into a much more beneficial one, providing them with the possibility for more interaction with the patient while listening to the patient's needs. The expert system, described in the paper, is an application for medical diagnostic of the most frequently met conditions, based on logical programming and on the theory of probabilities. The system rationale is a search item in the field basic knowledge on the condition. The web application described in the paper is implemented for the ward of pathological anatomy of a hospital in Romania. It aims to ease the healthcare staff's work, to create a connection of communication at one click between the necessary wards and to reduce the time lost with bureaucratic proceedings. The software (made in PHP programming language, by writing directly in the source code) is developed in order to ease the healthcare staff's activity, being created in a simpler and as elegant way as possible.

Modelling of Iron Losses in Salient Pole Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors
Valentin NAVRAPESCU,Dragos Ovidiu KISCK,George ANDRONESCU,Mircea POPESCU,Mariana KISCK 전력전자학회 2007 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.- No.-
Today, for the same rated power and speed electrical drives we have a strong competitor to the induction motors. This one it is represented by permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) with salient pole rotors. In this paper are presented dedicated analytical and numerical models for the iron loss effect over the motor performance. It is presented a comprehensive comparison between no-load and loaded conditions test data for all the models presented.

This paper presents a sensorless control and parameter estimation strategies for a Transverse Flux Rotating Motor (TFRM). The proposed sensorless control method is based on a Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) to estimate the stator flux. Parameter estimation theory is also applied into the sensorless control method to estimate motor parameters, such as inductances. The effectiveness of the proposed methods is verified by some simulations and experiments.

The objective of this study was to investigatethe anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity of newthiazolyl-carbonyl-thiosemicarbazides and thiazolyl-azolederivatives as potential iNOS inhibitors. The in vivo antiinflammatoryeffects of the new thiazole compounds werestudied in a turpentine oil induced inflammation model. Their anti-inflammatory activity was assessed by evaluatingthe acute phase bone marrow response, phagocytes’activity, NO synthesis and antioxidant capacity. The newthiazole compounds have anti-inflammatory effects bylowering bone marrow acute phase response and oxidativestress. The best anti-inflammatory and antioxidanteffect was found for thiazolyl-carbonyl-thiosemicarbazidesTh-1-8, thiazolyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole Th-20 and thiazolyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole Th-21. Virtual screening of thiazolederivatives against the oxygenase domain of chain A from2Y37 revealed that all twenty-two compounds bind theactive site of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS). Basedon the virtual screening and on the results obtained above, the activity may be due to their capacity to reduce the NOsynthesis by blocking the bind of L-Arg in the active site ofiNOS, the compounds binding the synthase by hydrogenbonds between the NH (2 and/or 4) of thiosemicarbazidefragment (Th-2-8) or N2/N3 from azole cycles and by thethiol function (Th-9-22).

The ability to provide quality power has become a significant issue in power systems. The main causes of poor power quality are harmonic currents, poor power factor, supply-voltage variations, etc. A technique of achieving both active current distortion compensation, power factor correction and also mitigating the supply-voltage variation (sag or swell) at the load side is presented in this paper. The operation and rating issues of the proposed Single-phase Unified Power Quality Conditioner are also highlighted. To reduce the total cost while simultaneously increasing the performance, the system is fully digitally controlled using the fixed-point TMS320F240 digital signal processor. The performances of the UPQC, which is composed by shunt and series PWM controlled-converters, have been verified on a laboratory prototype.
