학습동기 유발의 필수 선결 조건을 비롯하여 성공적인 기대감, 외적 유인체제와 내적 유인체제, 학습동기 전략등 다양한 방법들이 동원되어야 하다. 학습동기가 개념과 기술로 직접적으로 가르쳐질 수 없더라도 그것은 교사에 의해 학생 자신들 속에서 발달될 수 있다. 즉 교사는 적당한 교육과정과 동기유발 전략을 수업의 일부로서 사용하여 학생들을 조직적으로 사회화해야 할 것이다. This paper attempts to illuminate the meaning of "socialism of the Heavenly side" in the Divine Principle book. For this purpose, in the first two sections, this paper presents the life of F. D Maurice and his Christian socialist movement in the mid-nineteenth century in England and argues that Maurice was no less important than Kingsley as its leader. In the third section, this paper discusses two different meanings of socialism--one opposed to capitalism and the other one opposed to atomistic individualism--and identifies "socialism of the Heavenly side" as the latter. Furthermore, this paper elaborates the meaning of “tricoism” or "the principles of co-living, co-prosperity, and co-righteousness" in the Divine Principle/Unification Thought books and asserts that the Divine Principle book views the ideal society as "a socialistic society" as well as a society of co-living, co-prosperity, and co-righteousness. Finally, on the basis of the Divine Principle book and Rev. Moon's speeches, this paper boldly predicts that the future lifestyle of the Unification movement will become more and more "communalistic" and "socialistic" on a global scale than now. It is only too natural for the Satanic world, which is headed toward a communistic society, to advocate socialism. This is because Satan would attempt to realize, in advance, the course of the heavenly side going toward the socialistic system of economy, though the directions and contents of the two may differ from each other. Seen from God' s principle of creation, man' s original value endowed at the creation must be equal between any two individuals. Consequently, God intends to give everyone an equal environment and equal conditions of life, just as human parents would to their children…. Man, having been created with such an ideal, cannot help demanding such a socialistic system of life since he quite naturally searches for his original nature, striving after the democratic freedom at the consummation of the providential history which will enable the restoration of the original ideal. If the will of the people should demand this, the politics according to the will of the people must also go in the same direction. Therefore, there will ultimately have to come a socialistic society centering on God. We can find a socialistic idea even in ancient Christian society, while the ideal of "Utopia" by Thomas More of England in the 16th Century was also socialism, and the ideology based on Owen's humanism in the period of the industrial revolution of England was also as such, together with the Catholic socialism and Protestant socialism, brought about by the Christian idea of Kingsley of England. All these must be regarded as coming from the natural expression of man's original nature, which is headed for the ideal of creation.

Preparation and Characterization of Monosized Germanium Particles by Pulsated Orifice Ejection Method

Monosized germanium micro particles are prepared by a newly developed Pulsated Orifice Ejection Method. The obtained particles are categorized into two kinds of the microstructures as refined and coarse ones. The morphological difference is estimated to be determined by the undercooling level during nucleation. Actually, the increase in the temperature of the melt was effective in coarsening the microstructure, because the temperature of the melt intensely relates to the undercooling level. The transition temperature of coarse and refined microstructures is found to be 1300-1350K. Furthermore, a triggered nucleation could improve the crystallinity of the particles in the short separation.

<P>DNA repair helicases function in the cell to separate DNA duplexes or remodel nucleoprotein complexes. These functions are influenced by sensing and signaling; the cellular pool of a DNA helicase may contain subpopulations of enzymes carrying different post-translational modifications and performing distinct biochemical functions. Here, we report a novel experimental strategy, single-molecule sorting, which overcomes difficulties associated with comprehensive analysis of heterologously modified pool of proteins. This methodology was applied to visualize human DNA helicase F-box–containing DNA helicase (FBH1) acting on the DNA structures resembling a stalled or collapsed replication fork and its interactions with RAD51 nucleoprotein filament. Individual helicase molecules isolated from human cells with their native post-translational modifications were analyzed using total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy. Separation of the activity trajectories originated from ubiquitylated and non-ubiquitylated FBH1 molecules revealed that ubiquitylation affects FBH1 interaction with the RAD51 nucleoprotein filament, but not its translocase and helicase activities.</P>

세계는 공산주의사상의 파산과 서구 자유주의의 빛바랜 약속의 사이에서 제3의 길을 호소하고 있다. 통일사상은 이러한 요구를 춤족시켜 주고 있다. 그것은 영적인 기반을 시작으로하며 조화롭고 번영된 사회를 위해 필요한 개체내의 내적기대를 강조한다. 따라서 그것의 출발점은 하나님의 성품과 하나님과 인간과의 관계에 두고 있다. 인간의 삶은 내·외양면의 균형을 요구하고 있으나, 동양과 서양에 지배적인 세속적 세계관은 외적, 물질적조건 둥에 중점을 두고, 보다 더 근본적인 내적가치는 무시하는 경향이 있다. 만일 세계가 온전히 하나가 되고, 분열된 종교·철학·문화와 국가가 조화를 이루어 영구적인 평화를위한 조건을 창조하기 위해서는 가치의 올바른 정립이 요구된다는 것이 통일사상의 견해이다. 본 논문에서 필자는 통일사상의 중심된 특징들, 특히 존재론과 방법에 주안점을 두고 서술하고자 한다. 왜냐하면 그 방법과 구조가 변증법적 철학과 유사점을 지니기 때문이며, 어떤 비교는 막스와 헤겔의 변증법적 방법들로 구성될 것이기 때문이다. 이러한 변증법적 철학들과의 피상적인 유사성에도 불구하고 통일사상은 그것의 근본 토대를 종교철학에 두고 있다. 그와 같이 통일사상은 어떠한 교리에 집착하기보다, 더 근본적인 사랑안에 존재하는 인간 영혼의 깊은 단계를 다루기 때문에 필자는 그것이 단지 하나의 이데올로기만이 아님을 보여 주고자 한다. This paper will discuss the relationship between the Rev. Sun Myung Moon's Unification Movement (hereafter UM) and a global civil religion. In the first section, we will review scholarly discussions on a global civil religion and examine the relationships between the UM and a global civil religion. In the second section, we will point out the similarities between the UM s beliefs and the four tenets of Rousseau‘s civil religion and present the UM in terms of these four tenets of his civil religion. In the third section, we will clarify the differences between the UM and Rousseau' s civil religion and discuss the implications of the similarities and differences between the two. This paper will argue that the UM is a religious movement striving for world peace and unification and that it is a genuine facilitator for the rise of a global civil religion.

What Causes Conversion? : A Unificationst Appraisal of Sociological Theories on Conversion

This paper reviews prominent sociological theories on conversion and appraise their significance from a Unificationist perspective. In the first section of this paper, we will discuss a demand-side theory of conversion. The demand-side theory focuses on contents of the individual demand for religion. We will review Charles Glock's relative deprivation theory as a representative of the demand-side theory of conversion. In the second section, we will discuss a supply-side theory of conversion. The supply-side theory focuses on the supply or availability of charismatic religious leaders and missionaries. We will discuss Gordon Melton's supply-side explanation on the rise of new religious movements in the United States as such a theory. Then, we will go on to discuss Rosabeth Moss Kanter's theory of commitment and its implications for conversion. After that, we will discuss John Lofland and Rodney Stark's conversion model. We will also present the meaning and implications of the term "socialization" and discuss conversion in terms of socialization. In the conclusion, we will appraise the implications of these sociological theories on conversion and briefly discuss what causes conversion to the Unification movement and how we can cause it. This paper concludes that, when the Blessed couples acquire genuine charisma and become charismatic representatives of the Rev. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon, we can bring about a greater number of conversion to the Unification movement.

Effect of Sugar-Beet Pulp Supplementation on Fiber Degradation of Grass Hay in the Rumen of Goats

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of four levels (0, 10, 20, 40 %) of sugar-beet pulp (SB pulp) supplementation to Italian ryegrass hay (IRG hay) on the fiber degradability of IRG hay in the rumen of goats. The following results were obtained: Degradabilities of DM, NDF, ADF and hemicellulose of IRG hay in the rumen increased significantly (p<0.05) by 10 % level supplementation of SB pulp to IRG hay. This was probably due to the increased numbers (p<0.05) of total viable bacteria, pectin-fermenting, xylan-fermenting and cellulolytic bacteria in the rumen in the increased supply of degradable pectic substances and hemicellulose at 10% level supplementation of SB pulp pectin. In 40% supplementation of SB pulp, ruminal pH was lowered by the fermentation of increased amount of molasses from SB pulp, resulting in the depression of growth of fiber fermenting bacteria and hence the decrease in degradabilities of cell wall fractions. It was suggested from this study that the sugar-beet pulp supplementation to forages at the level of 10% in the total diet increased fiber degradation of forage in the rumen of goats.

On Practical Cooperation between SMU and UTS

오늘날 전사적 품질경영, 리엔지니어링, 벤치마킹 등 경영혁신에 관한 논의가 매우 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 이들을 면면히 살펴보면 다음 두 가지 공통점을 찾아볼 수 있다. 첫째, 주로 거시적 수준의 조직변화임을 알 수 있다. 아무리 집을 멋있게 짓는다 해도 그 집의 행복과 평화가 보장되지는 않는다. 진정한 의미의 설계변화는 설계 그 자체에 있는 것이 아니라 그 설계 속에 자리잡고 있는 구성원의 태도, 행동, 능력의 변화를 지향해야 한다. 이것이 바로 기업의 경쟁력확보에 있어 인적 자원의 변화가 최우선시되어야 하는 이유이다. 둘째, 모두 지향하는 바가 질(quality)이라는 결과에 초점이 맞추어져 있고, 정작 질을 높여줄 수 있는 인간에 대한 문제는 상대적으로 소흘히 다루고 있다는 점이다. 즉 이들 혁신노력들은 인간에 초점을 두고 있다기보다는 질을 높이기 위한 공정이나 관리의 개선에 중점을 두고 있다. 따라서 이 연구는 개별 기업구성원에 논의의 초점을 맞춤으로써 경영혁신을 미시적 관점에서 다루고자 한다. 또한 경영혁신의 주체와 객체가 모두 인간이 되어야 한다는 인본주의적 철학을 바탕으로 한다. 이 연구는 다음 세 가지 부분으로 구성되어 있다. 첫째, 제도파괴형 기업의 특성은 무엇이며, 둘째로 제도파괴형 기업을 위한 인적 자원의 관리는 어떻게 이루어져야 하는지에 대해 다루고자 한다. 마지막으로 제도파괴형 기업으로의 변화가 어떻게 이루어져야 하는지를 조직개발 관점에서 살펴보고자 한다. My teaching colleagues at Sun Moon University (SMU) originally assigned my presentation at this seminar to the area of“Common educationa1 courses between Sun Moon University and Unification Theological Seminary (UTS) and mutual recognition of academic credits.”I would like to present, however, briefly on the topic of Session V: Practical Cooperation between SMU and UTS, as Dr. Wilson assigned me to this topic. Practical cooperation between the two institutions can be divided into a number of areas. 1 would like to divide it into three areas and discuss in the following order: 1) exchange of students, 2) exchange of professors, and 3) cooperation In research and publication.

This paper will assert that the demise of conflict-inciting Marxism has played the most decisive role in facilitating the rise of a new culture of interdependence in many areas of human relations in the 1990s. In Conclusion, we will summarize our observation and assertion made in this paper, and conclude with additional comments on what kind of culture we should encourage and on how we can do that. I hope this paper will be of help in creating and facilitating a new fitting culture in the emerging age of the global village.

The Effect of High Hydrostatic Pressure Treatment on the Preservability and the Immunological Activity of Bovine Colostrum

Bovine colostrum, which contains a large quantity of immunoglobulins, is indispensable for newborn animals. The establishment of a new procedure for preserving colostrum without losing the immunological activity is significant. We examined the effect of high hydrostatic pressure treatment (100~500 MPa) on the preservability and the immunochemical activity of bovine colostrum. When high hydrostatic pressure treatment was 300 MPa or more, the increase of the total viable count, coliforms and psychrotrophic gram-negative bacteria was suppressed effectively. In particular, the number of coliforms in colostrum treated at 300 MPa or more hardly increased for 35 days at $4{^{\circ}C}$. At 400 MPa or more, both gelling of the colostrum and denaturation of immunoglobulins were observed. However, if the pressure was 300 MPa, immunoglobulins were scarcely influenced and the neutralizing titers against the bovine coronavirus did not decrease. Therefore, it was suggested that 300 MPa was the best pressure for good preservability of colostrum without reducing the immunochemical response.
